Graduation Ceremony This Saturday!

Junior Class and Parents: Graduation Set up, Clean Up
The juniors and their parents are an integral part of graduation. Families of juniors, please let the graduation comittee know how you will help (joan@ischool.org). Along with prep and clean up from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, students will help with programs and parking; parents help direct traffic. Immediately following the ceremony, all juniors and parents are expected to help with the break down. It goes by fast if we have a lot of help! Snacks and water will be provided.

A Call for Flowers & Foliage for Graduation
The graduation committee is seeking donations of tropical flowers and foliage for Saturday’s graduation ceremony. We especially need A LOT OF PLUMERIA BLOSSOMS. The committee would like everything dropped off by June 13, Friday at 3 p.m. at the Wilcox Gym. Plumeria can still be dropped off Saturday, at 9 a.m. If you have a source for the traditional white plumeria with yellow centers, please contact Joan (joan@ischool. org).

Middle School Water Day Tomorrow
The middle school Student Council has organized Water Day on campus. Two huge water slides and an obstacle course highlight the day. Breakfast snacks will be provided, a special movie will be shown and lunch will be provided by Student Council. Students should come to school in school clothes and bring bathing suits, two towels, sun block, a change of clothing, goggles and a water bottle. Please mark your belongings and bring them in a bag. Students will also be able to sign their Island School T-shirts if they bring one. Parents should pick their children up at school by 1 p.m. Letters about Water Day were sent home to parents with slips to sign indicating your child’s attendance. JUMP START Workshop Open to All Families
JUMP START is a workshop that prepares parents with children entering grades 3 through 6 to be successful at helping their children with homework. The focus will be on sharing best practices, learning to recognize strengths and weaknesses, and developing homework systems that build successful parent/student relationships. Open to all families on Kaua‘i, the sessions will be shaped in part by the needs of those in attendance. JUMP START will be held in the Main Hall at Island School on July 28, 29 and August 4 and 5, 3-5:30 p.m. Sessions one and three are parents only; in sessions two and four children are encouraged to attend. This workshop is limited to 10 parents. Tuition is $125.
