Senior Cap and Gown Photo Op Next Thursday: Attendance is Required

One-Half Day Bus Schedule for May Day Celebration

The bus will depart Island School at noon. No lunch will be served. However, the lu‘au begins at 11 a.m. imediately following the May Day program. Important: Please make arrangements with the Business Office (246-0233) to meet the bus at the designated drop off points for your child(ren).

Lei for Sale on Campus before May Day Program

The Booster Club Lei Stand, located next to the Teacher Workroom, will start selling lei at about 7:15 a.m. tomorrow and usually sell out before the May Day program begins. Prices range from $5 and up.

Post-May Day Do Drop Inn

There will be Do Drop Inn after the May Day program on Friday until 5:15 p.m. Have your child(ren) meet Mr. Dean at the usual spot: on the bench near the keiki bathroom with home lunch or luau ticket on hand. The group will then go the lu‘au line and find a place for all to eat.

Tomorrow is the Last Day to Buy Prom Tickets

Tickets for the May 17 prom are $85 and will be on sale until Friday, May 9. If you need a Prom Agreement Form or you have any questions, please contact Liz Hubbard (liz@ischool.org).

May 12 Lunch Menu Change

Please note: For Monday, May 12, rather than the creamy chicken casserole we will be having beef stew, brown rice, mixed vegetables, mandarin oranges and wheat bread with margarine. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

We will be taking photos of the senior class in caps and gowns next Thursday, May 15, during the Grad Prep class at 11:45 a.m. Please meet in the Music Room to get ready; photos will be taken in the gym. Photos will be used for a variety of reasons, including the graduation program — so we need 100% attendance. Seniors can bring their own cameras.

MS Play ‘Agatha Rex’ Premieres Next Week Friday

Tickets are on sale now for the Middle School play, “Agatha Rex.” Set in a modern high school, the story is told in the style of a Greek tragedy. Although this play is not a tragedy, it is loosely based on Sophocles’ “Antigone.” The Rex children all attend Thebes High School, which has a rigid dress code and a thick book of rules. Agatha seeks justice for her brother who has been unfairly punished for the exact same school infraction as her other brother.Twenty-two students in grades 6-8 bring the play to life on May 16 & 17 at 7 p.m. in the Island School “theatre.” Tickets are $5 each, or $12 for a Family Pass and are available in the Office or from cast members.
