Video Production students shot clips for their Hiki Nō show, to be aired May 9th.
VIDEO PRODUCTION – The Executive Producer for the PBS show, Hiki Nō was on campus this week to work with students. Island School was chosen to host the May 9th episode of this popular weekly show, which is filmed by high school students across the state. Students wrote a script and are in the process of filming 30 second segments about Island School and its uniqueness. They will also introduce clips about other schools that will be featured on the May 9th episode. Students are learning how to produce a quality shot for television. They are working as cameramen, audio technicians, directors and talent (those on-camera). The Hiki Nō producer, Robert Pennybacker, showed the class examples of previous shows, pointing out what worked and how to keep the audience entertained. The 30-second segment they created on Tuesday took 70 minutes to film!
