Good Timers’ Singles Club News By Liz Poniatowski Don’t cry because it’s over; smile because it happened... The Good Timers’ had a lot on our agenda last month... the Mardi Gras Party charity fundraiser that Kathy Aira puts on, our monthly Birthday Luncheon at the Victory Lane Cafe, A Taste of Broadway that our very own Del Tura Repertory Company produced, Kinky Boots at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theater...but we’re not crying because it’s over , we’re smiling because
we had so much fun and we’re now looking forward to this month! First we will be going to the Cape Coral Cultural Park Theater to see the comedy “Urinetown” then a group of us are going on an Eastern Caribbean cruise aboard the Holland America Veendam and lastly we have our St. Patty’s Day/Birthday celebration to look forward to. Next month is our annual Road Rally that Esther Kuntz hosts. We all look forward to driving our golf carts around the community to find the landmarks that Esther and Stewart Carter search out
for us. So, if you’re single and want to join a fun group of people to go places with please join us at our next meeting on 3 March to see what we’re all about. Monthly meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month in the Poinciana Room. Socializing begins at 4:00 and the meeting starts at 4:30. All single Del Turians are encouraged to join us at one of our monthly meetings to see if this is a club that you’d like to be a part of. Choralaires Spring Concert...“DÉJÀ VU” Ticket distribution begins March 10th! Spring has almost “sprung”, and that can only mean one thing. It’s time for the Choralaires Annual Spring Concert! This year’s theme is really unique, and the members of the chorus are quite excited about it. The theme is “Déjà Vu” and it’s quite simple really. In recent years we’ve continued to hear from residents how much they have enjoyed certain songs the group has performed. Often we’re told “I wish we could hear that again!” Well this year, the Choralairees are going to honor that wish by featuring a performance of “greatest hits” based on the suggestions of our residents and the members themselves. Folks in attendance are going to hear some phenomenal songs from performances past that really were a hit with our audiences. Of course, we’re going to add a few new wrinkles and tunes as well. The date is Saturday March 28th in the Starlight Ballroom. As in years past, there will be a 2pm afternoon and 7pm evening performance. Both will be identical, so choose the one
that fits your schedule and join us. Tickets are once again free and we would hope that you will make a donation to our group the day of the concert. Distribution of tickets will begin on March 10th at the Tuesday morning coffee social for HOA members only. Tickets will also be distributed the following two weeks (March 17th and 24th) at the Tuesday morning coffee social Due to the long lines waiting at the door in the past and the inability of some folks to find a seat, there will be a significant change in ticket distribution this spring so please read the following information carefully: • Unlike previous performances, both concerts will have assigned seating. This is being done to insure a fair and equitable distribution of seats and to eliminate the long lines in the heat that could conceivably form while waiting to get in. • It will assist groups who want to sit together by allowing them to obtain tickets without having to arrive early “save” seats.
• The first morning of distribution (for HOA members only) will run from 7:45 until 8:45 and for fifteen minutes directly after the coffee social. The following two Tuesdays, reserved ticket distribution will be available to the general community starting at 8am. • Those arriving early the first day will sign a sheet with an assigned number provided by the Choralaires. Folks will be called by number to obtain their tickets and table number. There will be a maximum of eight tickets distributed per person. As always, the tickets will continue to be free. • Extra tickets, if any. may be reserved following the 24th, by calling Nancy Adams at 508-284-0919. Reserved tickets as well as any additional undistributed ones will be held at the door.
Mark your calendars! Hope to see you on March 28th!
