A Letter from Our CEO
As 2023 comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve had together and share some exciting plans for the year ahead. This past year, we witnessed the rise of AI in content creation and transformative changes in creation-to-distribution workflows. Despite these technological trends and shifts, our focus at Issuu has remained clear: authenticity and human creativity are the pillars of storytelling in digital publishing. And, amid significant world events, our global community has contributed to a narrative of resilience, courage, and change. In a year filled with unique challenges for creators and businesses, Issuu has stood as a reliable partner in the digital marketing journey. Our users across the globe have embraced authenticity and innovation, forging genuine connections with their audiences and seamlessly blending creativity with technology. Together, we’ve navigated a landscape where every piece of content created, published, and shared tells a meaningful story, bridging gaps and building communities. At Issuu, our commitment to elevating the creative experience has been unwavering. We’ve rolled out advanced features and data-driven enhancements, empowering our users to adapt and thrive in the evolving digital landscape. Our focus on refining and expanding our toolkit for users across all industries has been vital. By breaking down barriers in digital publishing and scaling our offerings, we aim to continue providing accessible, intuitive, and impactful tools to creators and businesses globally.

In 2023, we welcomed over 30 new team members and opened a new and larger office in Braga, Portugal – a growing hub that adds a vibrant dimension to our diverse and expanding presence. We’ve also made strategic changes to our leadership structure, bringing in fresh perspectives and recognizing internal talent that is instrumental to our journey forward. These additions reflect our dedication to growth and innovation. As we continue to grow and evolve, the opportunities at Issuu also expand. This year, we've made significant strides in enhancing the user experience fine-tuning our platform with major updates and new capabilities. From a revamped publisher workspace to cutting-edge features like an upgraded Link editor, new reader technology, expanded customization options for Articles auto-generated by Machine Learning, and collaborative plan offerings built for teams, our platform has evolved to meet the demands of content creators everywhere. We’ve also prioritized multichannel engagement by adding a Pinterest sharing option for Social Posts and launching two new partnership integrations: Issuu’s app on Canva and an add-on for Adobe Express. These integrations represent significant steps in enhancing and uniting the creative workflow for our users while creating bi-directional processes for creating, publishing, hosting, and sharing content with detailed analytics. We also made it easier for our customers to report on the performance of their content by enabling statistics to be downloaded as sleek PDFs. We expanded our payment options to ensure user convenience and ease of billing.
Looking ahead to 2024, further expanding the possibilities for collaborative work remains a key focus. We recognize that the future of digital publishing lies in the alignment of teams and entire departments working together. Our goal is to enrich the Issuu platform with tools that make collaboration seamless, allowing teams to create, edit, and share their work efficiently and effectively – always staying on-brand and doing so with a single, time- and cost-saving solution. Moreover, our journey towards environmental responsibility presses on. By championing digital publishing, Issuu continues to offer a greener, paper-free alternative, significantly reducing the carbon footprint associated with traditional printing. In addition, we will continue to enhance and expand our partnerships with Canva and Adobe with deeper integrations that empower creators to be more efficient, reach a wider audience, and use analytics powered by Issuu to create even more effective content moving forward. As we close out 2023, we extend our gratitude to the millions of creators who placed their trust in Issuu and the over 100 million monthly consumers of Issuu-hosted content. Your engagement and creativity have fueled our progress and innovation.
