BOOKWORMS CLUB CAPSIZED! THE FORGOTTEN STORY OF THE SS EASTLAND DISASTER BY PATRICIA SUTTON Monday, January 3 or Thursday, January 6, 4-5 pm Book pickup begins November 8. On July 24, 1915, the SS Eastland, filled to capacity with 2,500 aboard, capsized in the Chicago River while still moored to the pier. The disaster took more passenger lives than the Titanic and stands today as the greatest loss of life on the Great Lakes. R

MAKING MATS FOR THOSE IN NEED Thursdays, 6-8 pm Part 1 | February 10: Learn how to cut up thin plastic bags and tie them together. Part 2 | March 10: Learn how to crochet thin plastic bags together to form mats. Join us for both sessions and make plastic bags into mats for anyone experiencing homelessness.
