Library Receives Grants From Two Rotary Clubs
The Indian Trails Library is thrilled to have received grants from the Wheeling Rotary Club and Buffalo Grove Rotary Club for upcoming programs. The Wheeling Rotary Club donated $1,000 toward the redesign of the Giving Garden, which has been on hiatus since the library underwent renovation in 2016. The funds will help redesign the Giving Garden, a popular program for children to learn about planting and tending vegetables that are distributed to a local food pantry after harvesting. The library also received $1,200 from the Buffalo Grove Rotary Club that will be used to fund One Book, One Community (OBOC) programs scheduled for 2017-2018. OBOC is a partnership with Vernon Area Library and Cook Memorial Library to create discussions and events around a selected community read. OBOC programs will run December through February.
Wendy Present was recently appointed by the ITPLD Board of Trustees to fill a vacant four-year position on the Board of Trustees. Wendy has lived in Buffalo Grove with her husband and two sons for 15 years. She is a licensed attorney in the state of Illinois and her hobbies include reading, biking and watching movies. Wendy says she is thrilled to be able to give back to her community by serving as a library trustee.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Brian Shepard
The Indian Trails Public Library District Board of Trustees meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:15 pm. The meeting is open to the public.
Join us this year as we partner once again with Vernon Area Public Library and Cook Memorial Public Library to present One Book, One Community (OBOC). The selection we’ll be reading is Stolen Beauty, an exhilarating novel of love, war, art and family that brings to life the true story behind the creation and near destruction of Gustav Klimt’s most remarkable paintings.
