Local “Mom”trepreneurs Balance Family & Business What is a Momtrepreneur? You are probably wondering, “What is a Momtrepreneur exactly?” Glad you asked! A Momtrepreneur is that woman that you see in the grocery check-out lane, corralling several children while checking her emails and scribbling notes on an envelope. She can be found at PTA meetings, networking events, soccer games, and dance classes, boasting about her newest idea and promotion, and beaming over her child’s performance, while texting her accountant and confirming her next appointment. The Momtrepreneurs featured here are strong, creative, inventive, dedicated women who juggle and multi-task like millions of other women in the workforce. We salute you Momtrepreneurs for all that you do and all that you are!
Michelle Dumovich – M.D. Complete Fitness
Michelle Dumovich has been a pilates trainer and weight loss coach in Trinity for over a decade. She established and manages her own company, M.D. Complete Fitness Pilates Studio & Ideal Protein Weight Loss Clinic. Although she considers her road to success as being comprised of “numerous scribbles” rather than a “solid line,” it is this scribbled journey that has led her to success! Her children, Anna (12) and Dominick (9), have carefully observed their Mom write for magazines, do commercials, create Pilates Kids Fitness Classes, open an Ideal Protein Clinic in Trinity, and manage a fitness training center & weight loss clinic. She’s done all this while maintaining household chores and escorting them to various activities. Anna and Dominick recently told Michelle, “Mom we want to work for you and help people become healthier”. It was then she realized she had made a valuable impression on her children! To find out more about M.D Complete Ideal Weight Loss Clinic & Pilates Wellness Center , call 727-4631250, or visit their website www.mdcompletefitness.com. 2

Arry’s Roofing Services, Inc.
The Bay Area’s Premier Roofing Professionals Give Back to Our Community By: Debra Taylor
Community outreach is incredibly important to Arry Housh and the Arry’s Roofing family. When he found out about the No Roof Left Behind program as a means of giving back to communities for their support, Arry knew it would be the perfect way for he and his team to give back to Pinellas County! “We are just so excited to have implemented a philanthropic program like this at home,” says Arry. “It was a natural fit here in Pinellas County. We recognize that not everyone can afford to get his/her roof replaced. But having a secure roof overhead can bring peace of mind to a family in need.” Nominations were accepted until July 19. The top four nominees remaining in contention, collected votes from August 2-September 6, with the winner being announced online September 9. Criteria required to be considered a nominee included being a resident of Pinellas County, the actual homeowner, and maintaining current mortgage payments. The lucky winner receives a brand new roof, free of charge, compliments of Arry’s Roofing and the No Roof Left Behind program. Arry, his wife, Becky, and sons, Stephen and Matthew, have taken their business to the top of the roofing industry, and have provided an outstanding product for homes and businesses throughout Tampa Bay for nearly a quarter century. Having earned the MasterElite status among only two percent of contractors in the entire nation, this separates them from other roofing companies in that the entire work force is skillfully trained on an ongoing basis to construct, repair and replace roofs expertly and efficiently, using only the best materials on the market! www.ItsYourHomeMagazine.com
Arry’s Roofing has grown to become a leader in roofing excellence thanks to their dedication to customers and the relationships they have cultivated through their superior work ethic and community outreach. “When we show up at a job, we don’t look at it as just another job, we look at it as a relationship,” Vice President, Matt Housh, explains. Arry continues, “My goal in business is to promote quality in workmanship and relationships. Once we perform work, we stay in touch with our referral program. If our customers refer someone to us with a potential need, we compensate them with a gift card and discount any work for the potential customer.” With honesty, integrity and value, the MasterElite team at Arry’s Roofing will meet and exceed customers’ expectations by installing and servicing any style of roof. Plus, they offer a guarantee of their product under the Golden Pledge Warranty, the most substantive warranty in the roofing industry! Furthermore, each element of the Arry’s Roofing system is backed by the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. “We do a job professionally and with integrity, never compromising, protecting our reputation at all costs,” Matt said. “We do more than just sell a roof. We put a protective and aesthetically pleasing cover on the most valuable asset most of our customers have, and we give them peace of mind, bringing them cleaner, better and safer products.” Arry’s Roofing is located at 770 Grosse Point in Tarpon Springs. DEFY AGING
MASTERY OF L.I.F.E.
(Master L.I.F.E. Institute/Division of Defy Aging, Inc.) Creators: Dennis Kelly and Barbara Marville-Kelly
It may be cliché, but we’ve all faced it at one time or another: getting back into the swing of things, going back to school, embarking on new studies, meeting new teachers, sharing new learning opportunities and experiencing new awakenings. Along life’s journey, starting fresh is exciting no matter what your age. New job positions and new relationships occur frequently, because we are always in search of those opportunities to better ourselves in a variety of ways, shapes, and forms. As summer comes to a close, we reflect on our wonderful vacations that have served as times to regenerate, renew, reflect, re-set, re-boot and reassess life, learning and our future endeavors toward success.
and situations, we can actually use it as a metaphor (as if we are observing it through the lens of a camera), and ask ourselves some simple questions to obtain a clear picture: What do I see?” “What would I change in this picture if I thought and knew I could?” Then IMAGINE what and how you would feel about being able to actually CHANGE what you see through the lens? Take some quiet time, and ask yourself one last question: “If you had all the money and monetary STUFF that you ever could want or hope to want, would you be doing exactly what you are doing right now, right this very minute?” Would you be in the same job, the same relationships, the same residence, etc. Would YOU?

HomeLIVING FIVE SIMPLE WAYS TO BRING AUTUMN INSIDE YOUR HOME
1.Enjoy the fall scents: candlelight dinners, or simply burn some fall-scented candles when you’re done for the day.
small dessert plates or some inexpensive glassware make a big impact ... and so do simple touches like a leaf-motif napkin ring.
2. Don’t neglect your outside decor: Skip the jack-o-lanterns and turkeys and opt for a more seasonal display. A few pots of colorful mums and some pumpkins or gourds arranged on your porch set a fall mood and will look nice through Thanksgiving.
5. Make a big impact in small rooms: If you’d love to be the person who switches out her decor completely with the seasons -- but your time, budget, or tolerance for shopping don’t match that ambition -- just a few tweaks in small rooms can make a difference. Place a vase filled with leaves on a hall table or coffee table and surround it with gourds or mini pumpkins. Or set fall-themed scented candles in the bathroom and autumn-colored hand towels on the racks.
Decorating your house for fall can be easy, fun, and inexpensive. A little effort now and you’ll look seasonally chic until it’s time to put up the Christmas lights!
4. Don’t forget your table: It’s easy to find table linens, glassware, and even dishes that evoke a fall feel since the harvest feast of Thanksgiving is around the corner. Sure, you might not want to replace all your dishware, but even a set of
3. Think colors: You probably won’t repaint your rooms with the change of season each year, but fall’s rich colors are unique and go a long way in reflecting the mood. Try a small rug in shades of brown, a pumpkin-orange glass vase filled with pine cones, or a throw pillow in bright maple-leaf red.

Plumb Smart SAVE WATER…EASY FIX
• Installing a low-flow toilet can result in 30% less gallons of water per flush. Considering that toilets represent about 30% of your household water usage (second only to the shower), this is significant water conservation.
Quality & Distinctive Framing with a Creative Touch
• Installing a low-flow showerhead can result in 50% less gallons of water per shower. On average, a 5 minute shower with a regular showerhead will use 26 gallons of water, while a 5 minute shower with a low-flow showerhead will only use 9 gallons of water. A good quality low-flow showerhead will feel just the same as a regular one, too, so the choice is pretty clear.

Sinkhole Concerns? Global Ground Solutions is Just a Call Away When the ground opened up in Seffner and swallowed a man whole and alive as he had just retired to bed, people in Tampa Bay, in Florida, across America and the World were awakened to a tragic reality that sinkholes are dangerous and are fatal possibilities that exist right here in our own communities. Families and homeowners quickly became acutely aware of the devastation sinkholes can cause when Jeff Busch died that fateful night. However, Brian Lipsey, President of Global Ground Solutions, wakes up every morning knowing his company is saving people’s most valuable assets: their homes, and quite possibly, their lives. “This is something I have done most of my life, feel very passionate about, and take a lot of pride in doing,” Brian explained. “By upholding our high quality of workmanship and providing the best consumer service to our clients, their families will once again feel safe and secure in the one place they should: their homes.” Global Ground Solutions is an innovation ground modification and sinkhole repair company that specializes in residential and commercial projects throughout Florida. The company’s profiles clearly states that their team is “dedicated to using only the highest quality personnel, equipment, and repair programs in the ground modification industry.” This means everything when protecting your home and your family. The Smith family wrote, “Our home was number eleven with a sinkhole issue on our street. We watched several of the homes being repaired. It wasn’t until your company contracted with our next-door neighbor that we realized there was one company, Global Ground Solutions that was far superior to the others” Additional testimonials boast the same about Brian’s company and the professionalism and high quality workmanship demonstrated by the Global Ground Solutions team. With more than 34-years combined experience, these contractors know what they’re doing and pride themselves on doing the job right what they’re doing and pride themselves on doing the job right the first time, with little or no aesthetic damage to the property! Their services include pressure grouting, compaction grouting, chemical grouting, slurry grouting, underpinning, micro piles, auger case piles and grade beams. A 20-foot, self-contained trailer was designed for Global Ground Solutions to house everything necessary to complete their projects and the drilling process. This means there is no need to unload heavy equipment onto a customer’s yard. To protect the area further, they use

plastic, 4ml thick, under the concrete trucks and pump to protect roads from oil, fuel, or concrete spills. The Global Ground Solutions advanced equipment is second to none. They are the only company offering two-laser transmits to monitor structure and ground movement from three to four sides. This offers two different perspectives on ground movement, thereby providing the most comprehensive ground movement examination available. The hydraulics, the grout injectors and the in-line gauges were all designed to operate effectively and efficiently so projects are completed right on schedule, and at, or under, the proposed budget! Brian admits, “When I worked for other companies, the decisions were based on profits. Now, as owner and President of Global Ground Solutions, I am able to base my decisions on doing the very best job, which sometimes cuts into our profits.” His passion stems from the experience he’s cultivated over the last 15 years. Brian has completed more than 1000 residential jobs including single and multi-story homes, pools, garages and additions. He has completed over 100 commercial projects, some quite familiar to Tampa Bay residents: Howard Franklin Bridge, Lowes, Target, Live Oak City Hall, University of South Florida and Timber Pines Golf Course. Brian has worked on at least 40 Department of Transportation roadway projects on US 19, US 41, Veterans Expressway, as well as Interstates I-4, I-75 and I-275. Brian started as a laborer in 1998, after 3 months he was promoted to foreman and within one year he worked his way up to lead foreman. By 2006, he served as Director of Operations, the highest position within the company, responsible for maintaining operations of the company from top to bottom. With his wealth of knowledge and experience, and his commitment to quality workmanship and overall excellence, with compassion, Brian oversees every aspect of Global Ground Solutions, and resolves to be the most respected leader in the ground modification industry! “Global Ground Solutions has grown into something I am very proud to be a part of, and I feel blessed to call myself the owner,” Brian said. HomeLIVING 20 Creative Ways to Sneak Storage into Your Home HOMETOWN REALTOR
By Country Living | At Home
1. Build your own unit. Spray-painted yellow and topped with plywood, three Goodwill filing cabinets morphed into a bright storage space.
2. Give antiques new life. Use vintage breadboxes as sneaky storage for table linens in a kitchen.
3. Try industrial shelving. Construct a pantry from a pair or metal storage units.
4. Seek out open spaces. Rather than let a rarely used fireplace go to waste, stack books inside. 5. Install floor-to-ceiling shelves. Replace upper cabinets with shelves and hooks that make kitchenware easily accessible. 6. Go for an artistic arrangement. Cover cardboard boxes in old French maps and newspapers. 7. Use what you’ve got. Remove cabinet doors underneath window seats to create a clever spot to stash your stuff.
8. Take advantage of vertical space. Rather than waste a kitchen closet, use tall shelving units that will maximize corners.
9. Take suitcases out of the closet. Stack antique pieces to use them as ‘drawers’ that can increase storage space in tight corners.
10. Think outside the box. Use cardboard tubes and contact paper to create circular shelves.
11. Eliminate confusion with easy-access cubbies. Use Pottery Barn units to stash plates and glasses in your kitchen. 12. Make the most of a mudroom. An antique mail-room cabinet is the perfect piece to stash office supplies. 13. Opt for bathroom storage. Use a vintage black lacquer cabinet to hold extra clothing in a bathroom. 14. Borrow from the library. A second-hand card catalog can easily double as a brilliant filing system for seed packets.
15. Use every inch. Vintage hutches make terrific storage for those who don’t have adequate built-in cabinetry.
16. Add a wall of shelves. Custom-built egg crate-shelving covering an entire wall provides ample room to mix storage and display.
17. Install built-in cabinets. A kitchen island with shelves is a great place to store cookbooks, towels, or other frequently used items.
18. Utilize a pot rack. Free up cabinet space by hanging pots and tools from a pot rack. 19. Corral items with cubbies. Place a cubby unit near the back door to hold your outdoor items. 20. Construct a jewelry hanger. Arrange necklaces in an out-of-the-way place, like on the back of a door. Six Impossible Things I Believe Before Breakfast Within every person lies the ability to be a champion if only they will choose to believe six impossible things every day before breakfast. Six Impossible Things I Believe Before Breakfast ~ Unleashing the Champion within You, is a guide to establishing a foundation of beliefs that will help you overcome the obstacles of life, and live a life that benefits yourself and those around you. According to Author, Tracey Metzger, it is your foundation of beliefs that creates the champion in you. Crossing the lines of denominational boundaries, Six Impossible Things I Believe Before Breakfast ~ Unleashing the Champion within You, is a reference guide for doing just that! Tracey became depressed, and she had to find ways to manage that which had lead to her disease. She found that her core beliefs allowed her to maintain joy and live her life on purpose!
She said, “When my faith was tested, I reevaluated everything I believed. Pat answers were not good enough anymore. Clichés made me angry. Even scripture verses recited by well-meaning people intending to offer hope, instead brought confusion and frustration. When we suffer loss or go through difficult times we feel like we lose a piece of ourselves. But “feel” is the operative word here. It “feels” like we have lost a piece of ourselves but it is not lost. It is just missing, and you can get it back.” Tracey and her husband, a local business owner, moved to Trinity in November 1994, where they raised three children. Tracey Co-Founded “For the Girls International” over 5 years ago and currently serves as a director. Her book, Six Impossible Things I Believe Before Breakfast ~ Unleashing the Champion within You is scheduled to be released in February 2014. s your computer slow? Does it take FOREVER just to bring up the Internet to do a search? Do you contemplate flipping your keyboard or laptop clear across the room, just because that one file WILL NOT OPEN? You are not alone.
W
hen your computer is acting slower than usual, the culprit is almost always programs and features
that you do not want hogging all of your computer’s memory.
G
etting your computer back to normal isn’t easy, but once you get it back up to speed, being wary of what goes in and out of your system will help you keep your PC fast and clean. Fixing these problems can usually be easy, but often time-consuming. • Install antivirus that will alert you
when you download questionable files or suspicious activity occurs. A good, free antivirus is avast! (www.avast. com). • Using the antivirus, scan your computer for spam and virus files. Delete any trespassers! • Delete programs that you don’t use. You can usually find a list in Control Panel > Programs and Features in Windows 7. • Uninstall every single toolbar on your system. Not only do they drain computer memory, they more often than not collect usage data without your knowledge. Get rid of them. You will be fine. • Finally, read every step of every installation wizard you run. They may try to trick you into installing something you really don’t need.

MONEY MATTERS By: Todd G. Unbehagen, MAFM, EA, ATA, ATP President/CEO, Unbehagen Advisors
Does the Health-Care Reform Law Apply to You? Beginning in 2014, the mandatory health insurance coverage provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) go into effect. But the law does not require everyone to have health insurance, nor are all of the coverage requirements applicable to all types of health insurance.
Are you exempt from the health insurance mandate? Most U.S. citizens and legal residents are required to have health insurance beginning in January 2014 or face a penalty tax that can be as high as 1% of taxable household income exceeding the taxpayer’s federal income tax filing threshold (increasing to 2% in 2015, and 2.5% in 2016). You can avoid the penalty tax if you already have health insurance for the entire year, and the coverage is obtained from one of the following:
• Medicare • Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) • TRICARE (for service members, their families, and retirees) • The veteran’s health program • Employer-provided health coverage • A policy you purchase on your own that’s at least at the Bronze level • A plan that is grandfathered (in existence prior to the enactment of the ACA that meets the requirements of grandfathered plans under the law)

(Cont’d) However, certain groups are not required to be insured and thus are not subject to the penalty tax. The ACA specifically excludes people who are members of an exempt religious sect or division, members of a health-care sharing ministry, Native Americans, undocumented immigrants, incarcerated individuals, people whose income is so low that they don’t have to file federal income taxes, and people eligible for a hardship exemption (when the cost of insurance after employer contributions and federal subsidies exceeds 8% of their income).
What types of insurance are not affected by the health-care reform law? The health-care reform law does not apply to automobile insurance, homeowners insurance, and umbrella liability coverage, even though they provide some health-related coverage. Also not subject to the law’s provisions are life, accident, disability, long-term care, and workers’ compensation insurance. Medigap (Medicare supplement) insurance is generally not covered by the ACA if it’s sold as a separate plan and not as part of a comprehensive health insurance policy. In addition, retireeonly plans are exempt from the
ACA’s provisions. These plans are group health insurance plans with fewer than two participants who are current employees. Charles S. Philips Provides Quality Personalized Representation
The new Florida No-Fault law that went into effect this year requires drivers who are involved in a vehicular crash to seek medical attention with 14 days of the accident in order to receive personal injury benefits from their insurance carriers. If you or someone you love has recently been injured in an automobile or motorcycle accident, there’s someone local on your side! Trinity attorney, Charles “Chuck” S. Philips, is a former insurance defense attorney, and he is wellversed on the inner workings of the insurance industry, giving him a sizable advantage over other attorneys practicing personal injury law. “Attorney Philips has the knowledge, skill, and courtroom experience to help you recover financial compensation for your injuries, lost time at work, pain and suffering, medical bills, and more,” according to Sharon Grimes, his Legal Assistant of nearly two decades. Chuck limits the number of cases he accepts, because he is dedicated to serving each of his clients with as much time as necessary to receive a favorable result. His clients appreciate the personal attention they receive from Chuck, rather than associate attorneys, which often happens in larger, more well-known law firms.
Justice from the University of South Florida in 1985, and completed his law degree at Stetson College of Law in St. Petersburg. He has channeled his passion for helping auto accident victims since 1995. As a member of the Trinity Rotary, Chuck vehemently follows the “Service before Self ” mantra. He is a member of the Trinity Business Association, All Children’s Hospital Development Council, Bay Area Pregnancy Center as well as numerous other local, non-profit organizations. Chuck offers free consultations and delivers a promise that you will not be charged legal fees unless your case is won. Plus, in his effort to show his appreciation for the trust his clients place in him and his firm, Chuck hosts raffles and awards that include restaurant gift cards and tickets to local concerts and sporting events. TAYLOR MADE IN WEST TAMPA BAY By Debra Taylor ISN’T IT AMAZING HOW QUICKLY TIME PASSES? It seems like only yesterday, the kiddos were ecstatic about the end of the school year and kicking-off summertime fun and vacations. Now, here we are sending them back to school, perusing Halloween decorations that adorn retail shelves, and contemplating the upcoming holiday season! I’ve been fortunate to see long-lost friends this summer. (Although, they weren’t really long or lost). One of my best friends from high school, Brenda, lives in Jacksonville, less than 300 miles away, and we still had not seen each other in ten years! Time has a way of eluding us, even when we do our best to

“keep in touch.” The best thing about best friends is that you don’t have to talk, text or message everyday in order to maintain the friendships. I am thankful for that, because it’s not always easy, even in the age of technology. You would think that Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Pintrest, and LinkedIn would be sufficient to keep us all upto-date with each other, but not always. I refrain from posting everything about my life on the internet, because I would like to keep some semblance of privacy to my personal life. That is not to say I don’t enjoy seeing posts and photos from my family and
friends and of their children dressed up to go back to school. Nor, do I mind reading about their most recent excursions to Disneyland. I love that the people I care about are enjoying their lives! In the weeks and months to come, as we move swiftly through the seasons, pause to enjoy the special moments, the comical memes, the reflections of family, and the photos of friends, share comments of love, support and encouragement, but above all, keep in touch.

Mystery Diner: Harmony & Balance
Where East meets West!! That is the philosophy of this amazing “tucked away” establishment known as Zen Forrest.
hangings, the simple elegance of our surroundings created a peaceful and serene environment for us to enjoy our meals.
With over 1,700 various restaurants to choose from in the area, the “Zen” is truly a standout. They strive to create a harmonious balance of healthy eating and great taste. This local establishment has been serving
Within 15-20 minutes, our lunches arrived, which included a Healthy Stir Fry in a Szechwan sauce with White Rice, Sesame Chicken with Jasmine Rice and General Tso’s Chicken with Jasmine Rice. All three meals were extremely pleasing to the eye, and we were all eager to dig in. The Healthy Stir Fry was amazing, and you can choose from chicken, shrimp or tofu with mixed vegeta-

the area for over nine years, showcasing the culinary doorway to China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, as well as a fusion of international and American flavors. This writer can sum all that up in one word….DELICIOUS!!! As we entered the restaurant, we were immediately greeted by our wonderful server, who was very forthcoming and friendly. She was very prompt with our beverage order, and the Ice Tea was plentiful. Shortly thereafter, our Zen Forrest Rolls (which were included with the lunch order) were brought to the table. This delectable delight included sautéed minced chicken and wonderful veggies wrapped in an egg roll shell, accompanied by a spicy lemon mustard dipping sauce. While our group was enjoying the crunchy goodness of this appetizer, we were struck with the basic, but yet tasteful ambiance of the restaurant. Not overly done with fancy artwork or “over the top” wall 42 Back To School Issue 2013

Dining & ENTERTAINMENT bles, which are then sautéed in a fiery wok with your choice of sauce, which includes a classic brown sauce, lemon-grass sauce (gluten free), tangy garlic sauce, spicy Szechwan sauce and a Forrest coconut zing sauce (gluten free). We chose the “medium” spicy Szechwan, which packed a very flavorful punch. The Sesame Chicken and the General Tso’s Chicken share the same basic origin, which is lightly battered chicken breast fried to a golden crisp. It’s the sauce in these dishes that make the difference. The Sesame Chicken was a delight to the palate, and the Jasmine Rice was the perfect compliment to this meal. When we ordered the General Tso’s, we had asked for it to be spicy, and by golly, it was fabulous. If you like your meals a little on the hotter side, then this dish is perfect for you. But it wasn’t too hot, where you’d find yourself requesting constant beverage refills. Midway through our meal, Chef Victor came out of the kitchen and inquired how about our meals, and we provided him with a resounding “two thumbs up” response. Chef Victor has had over 20 years of restaurant industry experience, and he is an avid believer in the benefits of balanced nutrition and the philosophy of “food as medicine.” Our group wasn’t sure if we had enough room for dessert, but we gave it the ol’ college try and ordered the Custard with Fresh Fruit. The 4 different varieties of fruit were diced to perfection, and the custard provided the perfect addition to the fruit. The sweetness of the custard, combined with the tartness of the fruit, made for a very light and pleasant closing to our superb meal. Folks, if you have friends or family that prefer gluten free, vegan or vegetarian options, then Zen Forrest is the place to be. Located at 4148 Rowan Road in New Port Richey, you can either dine in or carry out their extraordinary meals. You can also find them on-line at ZenForrest.com or on Facebook at: www.facebook.com/zenforrest. Keeping in mind Chef Victor’s philosophy of food as medicine, it was once said that Zen Forrest’s meals will heal the body and nourish the soul. If you’re looking for a healthier option to the every day, then make Zen Forrest your next stop. Overall rating: 1 being the worst – 5 being the best, I’d give this restaurant 4 houses out of 5.

This apple-phibious treat is so charming, your kids may not even notice that it’s good for them. What you’ll need • Green apple (such as a Granny Smith) • Cream cheese • Chocolate chips • Green grapes How to make it 1. Cut the apple into quarters and remove the core. Cut a thin wedge from one quarter for a mouth. For the eyes, shape cream cheese into two half-inch balls, and set them in place. Insert a chocolate chip, point-side in, into each cream cheese ball. 2. Use the grapes, cut in half, for the legs and feet. Slice four halves to create toes. Arrange the pieces as shown and serve on a paper lily pad. Courtesy of FamilyFun Magazine
