Hammerhead Roof & Exterior Cleaning Has You Covered! Hammerhead Roof & Exterior Cleaning has paved the way to clean surroundings with a SoftWash System™ that eliminates dirt, stains, mold, and algae that may be destroying the aesthetic appearance and structural integrity of your roof and your home. Did you know that those stains may represent a type of algae that feeds on the filler between asphalt shingles? Not only does the algae create a nasty, black appearance as it destroys your roof, according to Hammerhead’s website, the “algae dislodges the granules that protect and give color to your shingles and reduces the lifespan of your roof.”

Manufacturers Association (ARMA). You can rest assured that all Hammerhead employees h a v e passed a thorough criminal background check and been approved by Ask the Seal, and have received the “Seal o f Approval” before being issued photo identification. This insures that you can trust our team members on your property or in your home or office! Hammerhead Roof & Exterior Cleaning is located at 3152 Little Rd, #213, Trinity. To schedule a FREE in-home or in-office estimate, call 800-700-4140. Learn more about this exclusive Softwash system by visiting hammerheadsoftwash.com, or email: info@hammerheadsoftwash.com.

If that’s not scary enough, this fungal infestation can do more damage after pressure washing. Pressure washing will further spread the fungal spores throughout the area in question, causing even more problems in the future.

Become a fan on Facebook at Hammerhead Roof & Exterior Cleaning, or follow them on Twitter: Hammerhead Softwash@Hammerhead_ wash.

The SoftWash System™ uses a mix of biodegradable ‘mildewcides’, algaecides, soaps and low-pressure pumps for a deep clean that kills 100% of the algae without damaging your roof or your structural exterior,” Joe explains. “Unlike pressure washing we pump from a 12-volt system. This means there is no damage from over use of pressure. Our Surfactant lasts up to 6 times longer than pressure washing and comes with a 5-year warranty. Plus, we avoid walking roofs as much as possible, especially barrel tiles,” Joe added. Hammerhead Roof & Exterior Cleaning services include cleaning pool decks & cages, sidewalks, driveways, pavers, fences, residential & commercial exteriors, mobile home exteriors, decks, docks, playground equipment and more! To become a Softwash Systems approved company you have to maintain a 50 point checklist that includes standards of excellence in professionalism, equipment usage and maintenance, chemical handling & applications, safety, and education.” Throughout this extensive list, employees are encouraged to stay current and follow all regulations set forth by the Asphalt Roofing

Another Happy Roof! I am the President of our Homeowners Association in Fl. I heard about Hammerhead Softwash through a friend who had contacted them to clean their roofs. After meeting with Joe Marchiselli, and having a demo section of my roof done for no charge, I was thrilled with the outcome and immediately contracted them to do all 20 units in our complex. Needless to say, our residents were thrilled with the job they did. Their staff were extremely polite and helpful. They even moved and put back furniture and plants while doing the work. Our members immediately phoned me and wanted to pay right away and couldn’t believe the price. We had our roofs cleaned 3 years ago by a pressure washing company and weren’t happy with the result. Hammerhead’s job by far excelled our previous cleaning and we are very happy to recommend them to anyone. -John Strong, President Norstar Cove Villas

Hometown STORY

For the Love of Family & Community Charles S. “Chuck” Philips, Attorney at Law “Abundantly blessed.” That’s the answer Charles S. “Chuck” Philips remits when asked to describe his life.

In the first year after his birth in Birmingham, Ala., Chuck’s parents moved their family to Clearwater, and Tampa Bay has remained his home ever since! Throughout his personal and professional life, Chuck has been afforded a myriad of opportunities to cultivate relationships by meeting and engaging with members of his community as a neighbor, a volunteer, a colleague, a counselor, and a friend. This is what he truly loves most about Trinity. “The people of this area are great. We have a wonderful community full of caring and compassionate people who continually strive to make Trinity a better place to live,” he explained. Ironically, “honest, caring and compassionate” are the same adjectives used to describe Chuck! Among the wonderful people in his life are his wife of 25 years, Diane, and their two daughters, Lindsay (20), a college student at Florida State University, and Savannah (16), a high school sophomore. Thanks to his own successful law practice, Chuck is afforded enough freedom and flexibility to spend sufficient time with each of his clients, as well as precious quality time with his beloved family and friends. Striking balance between his professional and personal life allows him to be an attentive husband and father, as well as the dedicated attorney his clients require. “I thoroughly enjoy meeting and helping people,” Chuck admits, “and my law practice fulfills this desire both through the clients I represent and through the groups to which I belong on behalf of my practice.” www.ItsYourHomeMagazine.com

Those groups include, but are not limited to, Trinity Rotary, Trinity Business Association, All Children’s Hospital Development Council, and Bay Area Pregnancy Center. As an active member of all these groups, Chuck consistently demonstrates honesty, caring, and compassion, and vehemently follows the Rotary mantra: “Service before Self.” It is in this spirit of service Chuck studied Criminal Justice at the University of South Florida in 1985, where he earned his undergraduate degree. He completed his law degree at Stetson College of Law in St. Petersburg in 1987, and he has since channeled his passion for helping others through his practice as a personal injury attorney. When he is not practicing law or participating in one of his service organizations, Chuck enjoys spending time with his family and friends, fishing, spinning, walking on the beach, and traveling. Chuck expressed, “I would like to thank all of the wonderful people who have supported us throughout the New Port Richey and Trinity areas, who have made our office the success it has been, and more importantly, enriched our lives in the process,” Moreover, in an effort to show his appreciation for the trust his clients have placed in he and his firm, Chuck regularly hosts raffles and awards that include restaurant gift cards and tickets to local concerts and sporting events. Plus, he offers free consultations and delivers a promise that his clients are not charged legal fees unless there is a recovery in their case. You can find much more information about Attorney Chuck Philips, his practice, and legal news & views, by visiting his website: www.chuckphilips.com. Chuck’s local office is at 9400 River Crossing Blvd., Suite 103, in New Port Richey. He also has satellite offices open in Citrus, Hernando, Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties. Dad’s Legacy Lives On at Pony Tails Farm

A little known rural haven of recreation, chocked full of barnyard fun, Pony Tails Farm in New Port Richey is affordable outdoor amusement for young & old alike! Pony Tails Farm was the brainchild of owners Bob & Judy Wunsch. They opened their hearts and their farm to children and families to experience a country lifestyle, complete with barnyard animals. From 1997-2010, Bob & Judy told people about Pony Tails Farm, and this word-of-mouth marketing kept their concept functional. Unfortunately, Bob died of congestive heart failure in 2010, and operations went dormant. That is, until their daughter, Brittany, and her boyfriend, Nic Wilson, decided to take the reins and revitalize the family farm to continue her parents’ legacy in August 2012.

events grow, so do the activities! Their event plans include the addition of a bounce house, an ice cream truck, tractor rides, face painting and more. Admission is typically less than $5, and includes at least two activities. They are currently accepting enrollment for their summer camps, so call or visit Pony Tails Farm today! Visits to Pony Tails Farm, located at 9645 Sunbeam Dr, New Port Richey, are available anytime. Hours of operation are 10 AM-7 PM, Monday-Saturday. For more information about the farm, summer camps, upcoming events, or volunteering, call 727- 8627000; visit their new website: www.ponytailsfarm.com; visit their Facebook page: www.facebook.com/ponytailsfarm; or email Brittany at ponytailsfarm@yahoo.com.

“Our business was big when Bob and Judy were running it. They were advertising through word of mouth. We have now made the shift to social media. Facebook has been a huge part of our restart,” Brittany confided. “A lot of times people don’t know we are here, and they are happy when they find us!” This local, family-owned business offers an inexpensive, unique experience to its visitors with summer camps, pony rides, petting zoos, summer camps, birthday parties (at the farm or your location), lessons, trail rides and volunteer opportunities. Visitors are also welcome to check out the farm, free of charge! Brittany added, “We try to make every visit here special so that you leave with fond memories. We hear a lot of feedback that our farm is a great place for kids. It is great to see the joy and excitement on a child’s face when they meet an animal for the first time. You can see the spark in their eye and they always have a huge grin!” Although, the revitalization of Pony Tails Farm has been what Brittany describes as a “rollercoaster”, she, Judy and Nic are grateful for the community support they have received, which has been instrumental in their comeback. Their main goal is to keep things inexpensive for families by sponsoring low cost events and offering discounts. As their

family and Community Pasco County is a wonderful place to call home! I have always felt this way, but as I have become more involved in our community, it’s apparent how dedicated and focused so many of my friends and family are to supporting and protecting the present and future of our hometown. I had the honor of graduating from Leadership Pasco in May. Our motto was, “Class of 2014, Focused to Do More!” Together, we established dear friendships as we turned our attention to learning all about Pasco County. We created bonds with other business leaders, who volunteered their time and knowledge to pay it forward. We were all a big community family with a common goal to make a difference! Trinity/Odessa is growing at an astonishing rate, and the newly formed Trinity Odessa Chamber of Commerce has welcomed more than 175 businesses in just four short months. I am proud to be part of TOCC, serving as Secretary on the executive board. Join us and get involved with another community family working together to form bonds to last a lifetime! As Trinity/Odessa grows, so does the real estate market! Check out a few of the beautiful homes available in your hometown (pg 20). One night when Anthony Pesce’s son emerged from his bedroom wearing a fireman’s costume in place of pajamas and carrying a book, that moment of devine inspiration was captured! Pesce ran with the idea and created a children’s book series, The Adventures of the Magical Pajamas. Each book in the series features a story about a specific profession and includes a set of matching pajamas. Pesce explains, “The pajamas make going to bed fun like dressing up just to go to sleep. They also match those of the main character in the story, which brings the entire thing to life, making your child feel like they are part of the story!” This inspirational book series is intended to inspire kids to start dreaming about what they want to be when they get older, and gives them an opportunity to explore different occupations. Plus, Pesce hopes parents will revert back to the old habit of reading to their children before bed, as well as motivating children to be excited about reading again. Pesce, a native of New Port Richey, is married to Liza and they have two boys, Jacob (3) and Austin (3 mos).

“NOTE TO SELF”

If you could write your younger self a note today, what would you now tell you then? CBS This Morning began producing their series, “Note to Self ”, three years ago. Maya Angelou was the first in the series. Read below, a page of Maya Angelou’s note to her younger, 15 yr-old self: Dear me, myself then…

Through her writing, Maya Angelou, celebrated poet, author and civil rights activist, taught us many things about how to relate with the world. April 4, 1928 – May 28, 2014

First, I know that you know how to listen. When I was 8 years old I became a mute and was a mute until I was 13, and I thought of my whole body as an ear, so I can go into a crowd and sit still and absorb all sound. That talent or ability has lasted and served me until today. Once you appreciate one of your blessings, one of your senses, your sense of hearing, then you begin to respect the sense of seeing and touching and tasting, you learn to respect all the senses. Find a beautiful piece of art. If you fall in love with Van Gogh or Matisse or John Oliver Killens, or if you fall love with the music of Coltrane, the music of Aretha Franklin, or the music of Chopin - find some beautiful art

and admire it, and realize that that was created by human beings just like you, no more human, no less. The person may have keener eyesight, a better ear, the person might have a more live body and can dance, but the person cannot be more human than you. That is very important because that ensures you that you are a human being and nothing human can be alien to you. You will be able to go around the world, learning languages, speaking to everybody, because no one can be more human than you or be less human. They can be meaner or crueler, or sweeter or prettier, younger, richer, but they can’t be more human than you. Remember that. To watch the video or read more about this extraordinary author, poet, human, visit http://www.cbsnews.com/news/maya-angelous-note-to-self

Home LIVING The spring housing market is booming, and Homes for Heroes® is ready to serve more local heroes in the New Port Richey/Trinity area! This national program aims to help make the dream of home ownership more affordable for our nation’s military personnel, law enforcement officers, firefighters, teachers and healthcare workers, who sacrifice, serve and protect us each and every day. Local Homes for Heroes® affiliate, Mary Ann Warmouth of ReMax, became involved with the program in September 2013. She has assisted two local heroes since then, giving back more than $2100, and is currently helping two other families. Veteran Terrance Bois and his wife, Simonetta, received assistance from the Homes for Heroes® program when selling their home. He said, “The Homes for Heroes® program was easy and rewarding. Mary Ann helped us sell our home and save nearly $700 between commissions and closing fees.” Her goal is to help every local hero who is buying, selling or refinancing a home, as a way of giving back and saying Thank You for their service and sacrifice. If you would like more information about Homes for Heroes®, or to schedule an interview with Mary Ann, call 727-361-8059, or email mawarmouth@gmail.com.

My Chamber TV

“The HEART of Our Community” By Barbara Marville-Kelly Giving back and being a voice for the community is the mission of My Chamber TV, and its affiliates. With the advancements in electronic and social media, the world seemingly has evolved into a “show me, tell me” arena. It’s visual, and it’s quick, and people get the picture right away. When I was asked to host a show, I was quite honored. I interviewed chamber of commerce board members and offered them individual time slots on Wednesdays at 12:30 PM. Produced by Tampa Bay Multi Media, the show is live, unrehearsed, conversational, informative and fun, with the spotlight on local, fantastic guests! Plus, every show is archived at www.MyChamberTV.com, for convenient audience viewing. As the host for My Chamber TV, I am grateful for the way the show successfully launched, thanks to our guests from area chambers. The show is essentially a platform for sharing chamber events, highlighting charity organizations, discussing the goings-on around town, promoting ribbon-cutting ceremonies, and so much more. Getting to know the members of your chambers’ boards, along with local business owners/members helps to engage, network and build a more prosperous community, allowing us to “Pay It Forward!” Having logged over 20 years of on-air television – including 15 years with The Home Shopping Network - it is very rewarding to give back to my community by introducing people rather than products. One commonality I’ve observed hosting guests from different chambers is, they all share a great passion for what they do, which is contagious and invigorating! We will eventually feature all area chambers and include special segments as we continue evolving this niche. Coming soon, we look forward to learning how Debbie Dawson juggles her many roles as the new Trinity-Odessa Chamber of Commerce secretary / member / director, as licensed realtor, as publisher of IT’S YOUR HOME Magazine, and as dedicated Mom and “Grammy”. If you are a chamber member and want to be a guest on My Chamber TV, feel free to contact me at Barbara@ MyChamberTV.com. “Stay Tuned-in and Turned-On” to MY Chamber TV, every Wednesday at 12:30 PM: “The HEART of your community!” For local listings, visit www.mychambertv.com.

Business & FINANCE It’s easy to take Social Security for granted when retirement is years away, but with 94% of the U.S. workforce covered by Social Security,* it’s likely that this program will play a role in your financial future, perhaps even sooner than you think. Here are some facts and statistics from the Social Security Administration that highlight why it is important to so many people. Business & FINANCE Taylor Made to a Tee By Debra Taylor-Tee

The love of the family, the love of the person can heal. It heals the scars left by a larger society. A massive, powerful society. Maya Angelou, 1928-2014 Have I told you what a great family I have? What a great family into which I married? Wow! I am truly blessed! A few weeks ago, my cousin Kristy and I were talking over a beer, discussing our blessings, and she got somewhat emotional as she reflected on some of her fondest memories, many of which mirrored my own. We reminisced about the pets we loved, the places we went, and most especially our families. Those precious memories of special family gatherings included reunions, picnics, fishing, camping, and most especially, sharing big family meals. My father loved all family pastimes, but none more than fishing with my mother. The headstone on his grave even depicts my parents fishing on the river late at night. Night is evident by a dominant full moon etched perfectly on the stone, and an owl perched on a tree limb. (Mom’s favorite collectible is the wise old owl!) Unfortunately, not all of our memories are happy ones. Alcoholism, drug abuse, suicide, prison, rehab, cancer, divorce, child custody, broken relationships, alienation, loneliness, hopelessness… so many are not so happy in our family. Kristy said something that struck me that afternoon. She confessed that the times she spent with her cousins growing up were some of the happiest of her life. That was truly significant, because my dear cousin has experienced many challenges in life. Every family has their fair share of not-so-happy memories. Perhaps, this is the meaning behind “the powerful, massive society”, of which Maya Angelou so eloquently spoke. Regardless, I believe it’s imperative that we keep creating and capturing those wonderful family moments, whenever and wherever we can, because the love shared amongst family and true friends- and the memories generated thereof-will envelop, comfort and heal us when life’s difficulties inevitably arise. My cousins and I are planning our next family campout, and we’re all bringing our fishing poles!

honorary Governor of west Pasco County The 17th annual “Honorary Governor of West Pasco” competition, sponsored by the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce, is a supreme fundraising effort for WPCC and the charities chosen by the two candidates campaigning for the “Governorship”. This year’s candidates are Paul Friedlander, representing Pasco Kids First; and Tina Farrell supporting her charity, Good Samaritan Clinic of Pasco. Pasco Kids First is a private, not-for-profit organization serving Pasco County for 25 years. This organization is dedicated to the prevention, assessment and treatment of victims of child abuse and neglect. They promote awareness of child abuse issues and provide leadership in the implementation of necessary services for children. Surprisingly, there were more than 5,800 abuse reports received last year in Pasco County alone. The Healthy Families Program of Pasco Kids First teaches parenting skills to new parents, with the goal to prevent child abuse and neglect, while improving self-sufficiency. Amazingly, 72% of at-risk families who are unemployed at enrollment are employed when they leave the program!

partnerships with medical and dental providers and other community resources. Both candidates have sponsored awesome fundraising events to support their campaigns and charities. President of West Pasco Chamber of Commerce, Chip Wichmanowski remarked, “We are excited again this year to have two great candidates for this race. Both of these individuals are outstanding members of the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce and serve their community well.” Each $1 donation the candidate received counted as a “vote”. Voting ended on Friday, May 30. The winner is being announced at the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet Friday, June 13. (At press time, ten days of voting remained. Look for the results in the next Issue of IT’S YOUR HOME Magazine!) The total of monetary votes collected is distributed equally between the winner’s charity and the WPCC. Best of luck to both candidates, because in this race, everyone wins!

Good Samaritan Health Clinic of Pasco is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization that provides quality, non-emergency medical and dental services free-of-charge. They are committed to treating their patients, volunteers, and staff with respect and dignity, and to function at a high level of performance, making the best possible use of the community resources. Good Samaritan Health Clinic of Pasco, Inc., strives to meet the healthcare needs of eligible residents in Pasco County. Their goal is to be recognized as the leading source of healthcare for the uninsured through their
