M
arch into Spring with a keen eye for some of the hottest home design and remodeling trends that can not only save you money and energy costs, but can transform your space into something fresh and vibrant with style and flair, whether you are planning to sell your home or remain a happy homeowner! One of the most common concerns among homeowners continues to be energy conservation and cost-efficiency. Automated controls are one of the newest, sought-after trends used to control power, lights, home electronics, HVAC and security systems. Life is hectic and people are going in numerous directions every day. With the adaptations to Smart Phones, I-Pods, and I-Pads, automation has become quite affordable and serves as a superior solution to managing your home remotely. In so doing, energy consumption is reduced thereby leading to significant energy savings. There are also new appliances being introduced to the marketplace that keep you connected while away. At the Consumer Electronics show in Las Vegas, GE & LG demonstrated Wi-Fi enabled wall ovens that can be operated by your Smart Phone! Water conservation is also a valued priority which can be addressed using simple concepts such as low-water toilets, improved HVAC systems and quality insulation. Solar panels are now being concealed within roofs, and recycled water can be used in toilets and garden irrigation systems. Go Green! Many manufacturers and local merchants are jumping on the green bandwagon offering paints and adhesives, countertops and flooring products to limit certain toxins from being introduced into your home. Remember to inquire about the newest green technology when undertaking your home renovation projects. When it comes to paints, neutrals remain popular, yet there has been more of an emphasis placed on the blue-grays rather than the standard beiges or off-whites. The palates of

colors that can make a room “pop” vary and accentuate any size space. With today’s contemporary styles, blues and purples against the blue-grays, or raspberry-pinks, yellows, and even orange & purple combos, continue to be the hottest, or coolest, in redecorating trends. If you are space-challenged, consider using multi-functional items to maximize your space and efficiency. Ottomans are now designed as storage units for anything from books and magazines to business files or children’s toys. New-fangled coffee tables are being constructed to be raised for use as a dining table. For years, couches have included hide-away beds for when the grandchildren spend the night or for accommodating overnight guests. Thanks to Food Network and Chefs like Bobby Flay, outdoor kitchens and living areas are all the rage! Homeowners are giving their backyards an extreme makeover, rejuvenating them into the ultimate entertainment venues! Complete with multi-functional grills, pizza ovens, stovetops, sinks, refrigeration units, beer taps, televisions and sound systems, the party rocks on without the hosts missing a moment of fun! Fire pits and fireplaces keep you warm and cozy on those cooler nights, so there’s no excuse not to entertain yearround! With outdoor kitchens come herb and vegetable gardens. Organic growing is healthy and can save money when you cultivate those items used regularly in your kitchen. Not to mention, there is a certain satisfaction having grown your own fresh herbs and veggies, which can also translate into an educational experience for your children and grandchildren. You could even go so far as to construct a backyard pond for your very own organically-raised fish! All of these home trends and more are available for you to makeover your home and stay on the cutting edge of residential style. So go ahead, March into Spring, and take advantage of the many ways you can save money while adding value and pizzazz to your home and your life!

“POSH: FASHIONABLE, ELEGANT; TYPICAL OF OR INTENDED FOR THE UPPER CLASS.” These definitions describe the word in the Merriam-Webster online dictionary. However, you don’t have to be of the upper class for Posh Pools & Outdoors to turn the backyard of your home-or castle-into a personal oasis and haven of refuge! Picture it: Sparkling water rippling with reflections of sunlight; hypnotic, soothing sounds of a babbling waterfall splashing against smooth stones and pebbles; appetizing aromas of delectables being grilled in the outdoor great room; tumbling ice cubes hitting a glass as a refreshing cocktail is expertly mixed in the tiki bar. Posh Pools of Florida can take your vision, create and develop practically any of your ideas into your own gorgeous reality! Owner, Cody Nichols, has maintained one simple motto since his business opened ten years ago: “We are in business to make a faithful friend, not a quick buck.”
of your home’s character and a reflection of your personal tastes.” Create old-world elegance or contemporary style through a variety of rich, vibrant colors to suit your preference and accent your space with pool refinishes in Quartz, Marcite or Pebble, which are highly durable, aesthetically stunning and designed to resist chemical stains and blemishes. Outdoor kitchens are all the rage and can create a whole new entertainment center, adding a new dimension to your quality of life through healthy grilling and outdoor living, as well as adding value to your home. “Our goal is to provide you with a one-stop pool and backyard renovation experience covering all aspects of the industry,” Cody explains. “We trust we can make your project a pleasant experience and be as straight-forward as possible.”
Faithful friends he has certainly made since residing in Trinity. His daughter Chloe, eight years old, attends Trinity Elementary School. His youngest daughter, Ava, 4, is a student of Longleaf Preschool. Cody takes pride in volunteering in the Trinity community and is an avid supporter of his daughters’ extracurricular activities, gymnastics and soccer. Trinity has proven to be a wonderful place to raise his family and build long-term business relationships!
Pools and spas can be a great deal of work to maintain unless you engage the experts at Posh Pools to handle the pool and operating system maintenance from salt chlorination to quality heat pumps, pool pumps, gas heaters, filters, automatic controls and automated pool cleaners.
Cody’s philosophy has served him well not only in his personal life, but in his professional life as Posh Pools has experienced a tremendous growth rate by maintaining a loyal customer base as Tampa Bay’s premier outdoor living company!
Posh Pools of Florida, Inc. has two showrooms displaying all they have to offer. In Palm Harbor, they are located at 31515 US Hwy 19., and in Largo, visit 9445 Ulmerton Rd. For more information, peruse their website at www.poshpools.com, or call 727-547-1990.
Although they specialize in pool renovation and repair, Posh Pools employs every aspect of professional expertise for backyard reconstruction and rejuvenation. Licensed and insured, they do it all: Spa additions, custom waterfalls, tiki huts, outdoor kitchens, paving, as well as pool resurfacing, refinishing and remodeling. Cody asks, “Do you want your backyard to be comprised mostly of someone else’s idea of a perfect pool? We believe if you are going to make an investment in a pool, it should be the focal point of your backyard and a conversation piece, as well. It is an extension
It does not matter whether you want to construct a new pool, renovate an older pool, resurface a deck or completely rejuvenate your backyard. Posh Pools and Outdoors incorporates everything you need to take the plunge and live happily ever after!

• 2 loaves (1 pound each) frozen bread dough, thawed • 2 raisins • 2 sliced almonds • 1 egg, lightly beaten • Dip of your choice
• Cut a fourth off of one loaf of dough; shape into a pear to form head. For body, flatten remaining portion into a 7-in. x 6-in. oval; place on a greased baking sheet. Place head above body. Make narrow cuts, about 3/4 in. deep, on each side of head for whiskers. • Cut second loaf into four equal portions. For ears, shape two portions into 16-in. ropes; fold ropes in half. Arrange ears with open ends touching head. Cut a third portion of dough in half; shape each into a 3-1/2-in. oval for back paws. Cut two 1-in. slits on top edge for toes. Position on each side of body. • Divide the fourth portion of dough into three pieces. Shape two pieces into 2-1/2-in. balls for front paws; shape the remaining piece into two 1-in. balls for cheeks and one 1/2-in. ball for nose. Place paws on each side of body; cut two 1-in. slits for toes. Place cheeks and nose on face. Add raisins for eyes and almonds for teeth. • Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 30-45 minutes. Brush dough with egg. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to a wire rack to cool. • Place bread on a serving tray. Cut a 3-1/2-in. circle in center of body. Hollow out bread, leaving a 1/2-in. shell (discard removed bread or save for another use). Place a 1-cup shallow bowl in the hole and fill with dip. Yield: 1 loaf. Easter Bunny Bread Recipe photo by Taste of Home

March Birthstone:
AQUAMARINE The name aquamarine is derived from the Latin word aqua, meaning water, and marina, meaning the sea. This gemstone was believed to protect sailors, as well as to guarantee a safe voyage. The serene color of aquamarine is said to cool the temper, allowing the wearer to remain calm and levelheaded. Its pale, cool color beautifully complements spring and summer wardrobes. Aquamarine is most often light in tone and ranges from greenish blue to blue-green; the color usually is more intense in larger stones.

Natural Sweetener – Agave Florida Crystals® Organic Agave Nectar is a delicious and natural liquid sweetener that is made from the nectar, or Aquamiel, of a succulent plant called theAgave, which is native to Mexico. Our agave nectar is made from the organically grown Agave azul or Blue Agave — a species that is known to produce the best quality agave nectar for sweetening. Since agave nectar is a naturally sweet product, and ranks as having a low glycemic index, it makes for a versatile and ideal sweetener. Low glycemic index foods are an important part of healthy diets as they help to keep energy levels balanced. In addition, agave nectar is a gluten-free product and it contains no allergens. Agave nectar is purified when it is heated. Depending upon the levels of heating, we are able to produce two flavors Light Agave Nectar and Amber Agave Nectar (Dark). Light Agave Nectar offers a pure sweetness that will not add any flavor when sweetening beverages or recipes. The Amber Agave Nectar gives a more caramel-like flavor to foods, perfect for sweetening breakfast foods like pancakes, oatmeal or cereal. For additional information about Agave, visit www.betterhealthandnutrition.net or call 727-807-3225.
Origin of The Easter Bunny The Easter Bunny is a symbol that originated with the pagan festival of Eastre. The goddess, Eastre, was worshipped by the Anglo-Saxons through her earthly symbol, the hare or rabbit. The date of Easter is determined by the moon whose symbolism is strongly tied to that of the hare. In fact, the hare is the symbol for the moon. Ever since the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D., Easter has been celebrated on the first Sunday following the first full moonafter March 21st. The Easter bunny was introduced to American folklore by the German settlers who arrived in the Pennsylvania Dutch country during the 1700s. The arrival of the "Oschter Haws" was considered "childhood's greatest pleasure" next to a visit from Christ-Kindel on Christmas Eve. The children believed that if they were good the "Oschter Haws" would lay a nest of colored eggs. The children would build their nest in a secluded place in the home, the barn or the garden. Boys would use their caps and girls their bonnets to make the nests . The use of elaborate Easter baskets came later as the tradition of the Easter bunny spread throughout the country.

90 Days to Your Beach Body – Start NOW, or Regret Your Procrastination! I’m going to give it to you straight. There is no quick fix to looking good in that bathing suit this summer. You are not going to whip your body into shape quickly after freaking out in the dressing room because you cannot find a bathing suit you love… because you don’t love YOU. You’ve got to start showing love for yourself, and the VITALITY you deserve, NOW. The byproduct of that self care will be a healthier body, and a happier you in the dressing room… and on the beach! The hard truth is that there is no quick fix. There are faster and safe ways to lose unwanted fat – but they are not found in the ‘legalized speed’ section of the supplement store. Instead, most are found in your refrigerator. 80% of your weight loss is based on your diet. The unwanted pounds can fall off by adding excellent nutrition to your diet, and removing empty calories.
Add to your diet: - - -
More vegetable More lean protein 10+ glasses of water a day
Remove from your diet: - Empty simple carbohydrate calories (sugar drinks, processed junk, and white flour) It really is that simple. You don’t have to follow some crazy strict plan – those simple changes will make a world of difference in the way you feel- and look. The other 20% of your beach body is built in the gym. Your toned beach body does require a workout – and it must start TODAY. Our metabolism doesn’t slow as we get older, we lose muscle tone as we get older which slows our metabolism! Not to mention, it leaves things
sagging that I’d rather not mention. To really boost your weight loss results and get ready for the beach – you are going to want to incorporate some kind of muscle building workout into your weekly schedule. Long slow walks may relieve stress, and burn calories – but they aren’t building beautiful muscle. Find a class, a trainer or even a DVD that focuses on building muscle – and start NOW! It takes 4 weeks for you to notice your body changing, 8 weeks for your friends to notice and 12 weeks for the rest of the world. Give it 12 weeks. You deserve it! Start your 90 Day Transformation NOW – or 90 days from now, on the beach, you will wish you had started TODAY!

Water makes up more than two thirds of human body weight, and without water, we would die in a few days. The human brain is made up of 95% water, blood is 82% and lungs 90%. A mere 2% drop in our body's water supply can trigger signs of dehydration: fuzzy shortterm memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on smaller print, such as a computer screen. (Are you having trouble reading this? Drink up!) Mild dehydration is also one of the most common causes of daytime fatigue. An estimated seventy-five percent of Americans have mild, chronic dehydration. Water is important to the mechanics of the human body. The body cannot work without it, just as a car cannot run without gas and oil. In fact, all the cell and organ functions that make up our entire anatomy and physiology depend on water for their functioning.

4. Butylated Hydroxyanisole (BHA) & Butylated Hydroxytoluene (BHT) BHA and BHT are preservatives found in cereals, chewing gum, potato chips, and vegetable oils. This common preservative keeps foods from changing color, changing flavor, or becoming rancid. 5. Hydrogenated Fats/Trans Fats Hydrogenated oils are used to enhance and extend the shelf life of food products. They are found in deepfried fast foods and certain processed foods made with margarine or partially hydrogenated vegetable oils (trans fats are formed by a process called hydrogenation). Always read the ingredients to ensure that the product does not contain any hydrogenated oil or partially hydrogenated oil to limit trans fat intake. Nicole Meadow, MPN, RD of NutritionWise

DEFY Aging
Healing Arts and Wellness IN THE SPOTLIGHT this spring is YOU, your life, your family, your community, and how it all fits together in peace, in joy, in fulfillment and in love all of the time, or at least most of the time! NEW BEGININGS! REBIRTHS! NEW LIVES! It is possible, just by making a few choices, to put yourself on the path to new beginnings by using your “emotional compass” for the direction. Since we are all energy beings, it is important to know how our thought process affects our “feeling process”, which in turn affects the end results. Our life source begins with our “heart coherence” and extends the life line and gateway to healthy aging, longevity, and the quality of happiness we are looking to achieve in this life experience as we know it. When we understand how living a heart-empowered life can change EVERYTHING, we learn that it is possible to develop and “MASTER” a way of life that gives purpose, passion, prosperity and persistence to improve our lives, and persuade others to do the same, if they are simply willing to give it a try. IMAGINE how YOU can not only change your life, but help change the lives of those who are willing, just by changing your thought and feeling process. Being aware of how you are feeling most of the time is one of the “MASTER KEY CODES!” Our emotions have everything to do with how our bodies react rather than respond, manifesting through disease, allergies, low self esteem, and the list goes on. By developing a healthy mind/body/spirit, using the mind as the map, the body as the vehicle, and the spirit as the fuel, one can reach a state of imperturbability: the essence of being aligned and balanced! Allowing yourself to use a metaphor, such as viewing your life as if you were the producer of a movie film, or author of a book, YOU have the power to write the script or the book, and make whatever changes necessary. Imagine seeing yourself through the lense of a camera, what do you see? How would you adjust the lens, the picture, the “story?” Everyone
has a story to tell, and sometimes when we are telling our story, we know in our hearts where we could have made changes. You know, how we wished things could have been different. But it is never too late to get started. While you may not ever be able to change others, you can always change the perception of life’s events in order to keep on keeping on. Learn the ART of FORGIVENESS and allow OTHERS to be who they choose to be, even though they may not allow you to be who you are, and stop letting other people’s short-comings become your aggravation! While we cannot undo the past, we can certainly adjust our sails for the future, and our “heart source” is the way to accomplish the process as a successful personal growth and development agreement with ourselves. Tips on How to Begin Living an Empowered Heart-Based Life 1. Learn how to relax the body FIRST and FOREMOST! A relaxed body will deliver a relaxed mind. Remember that STRESS is the number one cause of dis-ease, that can lead to premature death. (Did you know that one angry/negative thought, held for 5 minutes or more puts between 5 & 6 hours of the destructive chemical CORTISOL in the body?) Start moving, take up a dance class, join a gym, rebound, and learn Tai Chi/Chi Kung. This all helps put the good chemicals in the body for healing and joy. 2. Learn the “Master Shift” technique of heart coherence, by doing a simple exercise of deep breathing. Recognize your stress, go to a TIME OUT for YOU, and shift your thinking and feeling to your HEART, recall a positive fun feeling, a special event, a thought of a loved one, and ask your heart for a better response than the stressful feelings you are experiencing. You will be amazed that just by changing your thoughts and feelings, your body goes to work putting all the good hormones and chemical changes in place for a more positive outlook on the situation. ANY situation!!!! Now, go forth and KNOW you were born into greatness and have exactly what it takes to have, do, or be anything you want to be, to create, direct & produce your own LIFE movie, to take back YOUR ENERGY and to “TAKE BACK YOUR LIFE!”

Quick Tips for Home Office Organization Is your home office sharing space with the family or living room? Professional organizer Vicki Norris gives tips to help you organize your home office no matter what room it's in.
1. Invest in adequate furniture.
Home offices need a clear work area, and that means providing adequate space for computer hardware and peripheral equipment, a spot for reference materials, file space and a location for frequently referenced supplies and paper. Make sure your office furniture provides ample space for work and storage.
2. Establish Activity Centers.
The efficient office should be zoned into activity areas:
• The Work Center, which includes a clear workspace, the computer and frequently-used office products.
• The Reference Center, which includes binders, manuals, dictionary and professional books and materials.
• The Supply Center, which contains office and paper supplies.
3. Properly place the hardware and peripherals.
Position your equipment by frequency of use. If the printer is used daily, it should be within easy reach. If the CPU is only accessed for troubleshooting, it can be placed under or next to the desk. If a scanner is rarely used, it can be placed outside the work area. When setting up hardware, be conscious of access to drives, trays and cords. Don't block access to drawers or take up leg room with tangled cords.
4. Conceal Cables and Wires
Professional organizer Tom Nevermann, the Moving Doctor, shares seven tips for containing unruly wires and caring for media and computer equipment.
Fold mailing labels back on themselves around each cord and label the wire. Don't forget to label the cords that connect different components to each other, as well as the cord to the electric supply.
20
Bundle like wires together to cut down on cord clutter. For example, keep computer speaker wires with stereo speaker wires. Use a surge protector for all delicate electronic equipment. Check the back to make sure it's UL listed and is a transient voltage surge protector. High-end protectors are built with replaceable fuses and will last longer than less-expensive models that might not work after a large surge. Used fabric softener sheets are the perfect lint and static-free rags for cleaning CDs and DVDs. Handle CDs by the rim to cut down on fingerprints. The backside of the CD carries the information and is the side that needs cleaning. Use the dryer sheet and stroke out to the edge from the center of the CD, instead of a circular motion. Stacking equipment makes the most efficient use of space in a media center or office space. Be careful not to stack any equipment with venting on the top (such as amps or satellite receivers) because they might get too warm. Use chair-leg protectors (small plastic cups) as spacers between these pieces of equipment when stacking. To clean a TV screen, use a lint-free cloth such as an old T-shirt. Spray the cloth with water (instead of spritzing the set itself) and wipe clean. Never use an abrasive substance on the screen. Never use window cleaner to clean a computer screen; stick to a lint-free cloth and consult with your monitor's manual for the proper way to clean it.
5. Establish a paper processing area.
Create an area within your Work Center for papers that need immediate action. Store paper associated with clients or ongoing projects in an area that is easily accessible and within your view. Establish a permanent filing system for papers you will reference, but not on a regular basis.

A Special Tribute to Gil McWilliams, Sr. He Will Stand Tall in Many Hearts Forever
H
ard-working. Giving. Teacher. These three words describe Gil McWilliams, Sr., among the myriad of descriptive terms that could be used about a man that dedicated his life to serving his family, friends, neighbors and customers throughout his life. Gilbert L. McWilliams Sr., was born August 9, 1945 in Baltimore, Md. One of eleven children, he grew up learning from his father who was a master plumber, while his mom managed the home and children. The experience gained from his father, prepared Gil to own and operate his own thriving A/C business in Maryland, and later, Florida. Son, Gil McWilliams, Jr., recalled, “Dad was first introduced to the A/C business while working in the service industry field. He did many things from plumbing, construction, fencing, and painting among other things. He became interested mostly in A/C, because it included several of the trades he was familiar with such as electrical, piping, welding, plumbing and metal fabrication.” In spite of his success in Maryland, Gil, Sr., longed to be near his parents who had retired to Florida in the late 1970’s. So he, too, moved to the Sunshine State in 1981, with young Gil, Jr., in tow, and opened McWilliams A/C and Heating. He began building the business through word-of-mouth and referrals from satisfied customers. He worked tirelessly seven days a week, and always took care of customers regardless of their financial status. Day or night, Gil, Sr., would address issues his customers encountered with a kind heart and generous spirit. He never had an unkind word to say about anyone, and never judged. His success in business stemmed greatly from his ability to build and sustain lasting relationships. Although this often meant sacrificing family time to take care of his customers, he was always able to make ends meet, while raising Gil, Jr., on his own. Family time consisted of Gil, Sr., teaching his namesake how to be a “survivor,” giving his son the skills needed to succeed. Although, times were tough, the McWilliams boys never did without. Gil, Sr., eventually met his true love Carol, with whom he spent the last 30 years of his life. Together they raised Gil, Jr., and her three children.
22
When the young McWilliams graduated high school, his father handed him the reins of the A/C business he had built, and it became McWilliams and Son, Inc. They worked side by side building the business into the success it is today. “Growing up in the business with my father, it was only natural for me to work in the industry too,” Gil, Jr., confessed. From the time he could walk, grandson, Devin, would accompany his father and grandfather in the field fetching tools or just riding along in the truck. He, too, had a natural procession to follow in his patriarchal footsteps and to stay in the industry to keep the business alive, instigating new technologies and advancements in the field. “Old school certainly met new school in the last few years, and although we certainly butted heads, it has been a true pleasure to learn from both sides,” Gil, Jr., conceded. Several years ago, Gil, Sr., lost his legs due to diabetes and walked around via the use of prosthetics. He never complained, and most people were unaware of the drastic physical changes the man endured. Amazingly, he did not seek or expect sympathy. He encompassed a strength and determination clearly unmatched by others who have suffered similarly. He continued to work hard every day never slowing, regardless of his physical condition. When Gil, Sr., did slow his pace, he cherished time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He loved being around the kids and teaching them the value of doing things themselves. He enjoyed taking on home renovation projects and building things on his own, rather than hiring someone else to do it for him. Gil, Jr., reflected, “My dad was a once- in-a-lifetime bigger than life dad. I will miss the advice from one of the leaders in the A/C industry. We may not have always agreed on a solution to a problem, but together we would tackle it and get it taken care of. I will miss working side by side with my dad in and day out. We worked well together and his shoes will never be filled. He was not a materialistic man but left this world rich in love and admiration from all whose lives he touched. I can only hope to make him proud with the direction my son and I will be taking the company in to the future. He was my hero and I will strive to make him proud and uphold the legacy he has left behind.” McWilliams & Son, Inc. | Heating & Air Conditoning |727-862-7002 | www.mcwilliamsandsoninc.com

Administration Reports Improvements from Housing Market, Servicers By: Esther Cho
The housing market showed signs of progress across the board, but the overall recovery is still fragile, hence the need for efforts to prevent avoidable foreclosures, according to the Obama Administration’s Housing Scorecard for February. Jointly released by HUD and Treasury, the scorecard offers a comprehensive view of the housing market based on public and private sector data. “House prices are steadily rising above the mid-crisis lows in markets throughout the country, while inventories of new and existing homes are further tightening, and even estimates of the ‘shadow inventory’ are down,” said HUD deputy assistant secretary for economic affairs Kurt Usowski. “That said, we still remain considerably below long-term normal levels of home sales and production.” So far, the administration’s efforts through the Making Home Affordable (MHA) Program have led to more than 1.5 million homeowner assistance actions, including 1.1 million mods through the Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP). In addition, data through December showed HOPE Now lenders have offered 3.4 million proprietary mortgage modifications. On average, borrowers who received HAMP mods saved about $546 on their monthly mortgage payments. The scorecard also reported 69 percent of homeowners with eligible nonGSE mortgages received a principal reduction with their HAMP mods. Homeowners also avoided foreclosure through the Home Affordable
Foreclosure Alternatives Program (HAFA), which has helped 114,000 homeowners exit their homes through a short sale or deed-in-lieu of foreclosure. The Making Home Affordable Program Performance Report, which assesses servicer performance, was also released in conjunction with the scorecard. The servicers assessed in the report were Bank of America, CitiMortgage, GMAC, Homeward Residential, JPMorgan Chase, Ocwen, OneWest, Select Portfolio Servicing, and Wells Fargo. Servicers were found to show continued overall improvement, with two servicers determined to need only minor improvement on the areas reviewed, while seven servicers were found to need moderate improvement. The report revealed the nine major servicers are getting better at evaluating homeowners for MHA program eligibility. According to the report, the “second look disagree” category, which is the rate Treasury’s program reviews disagree with a servicer’s decision to find a homeowner ineligible for assistance, was below 2 percent in the fourth quarter. Mortgage servicers continued to show accuracy when calculating homeowner income when determining homeowner program eligibility. In the fourth quarter, the average income calculation error rate for the top servicers was below 2 percent, and three servicers had a zero percent income calculation error rate. Treasury’s benchmark is for the error rate to be under 5 percent. Only Homeward Residential had a rate higher than the benchmark. “The Administration continues to improve outcomes for homeowners seeking mortgage relief by setting new standards for customer service and holding mortgage companies publicly accountable,” said Treasury assistant secretary for financial stability Tim Massad. “As a result, struggling families today have stronger consumer protections and more sustainable options to avoid foreclosure.” Source: dsnews.com

Daffodils, the flowers symbolizing friendship, are some of the most popular flowers exclusively due to their unmatched beauty. The Daffodil or 'Narcissus' is the Latin name for a group of hardy, mostly spring-flowering bulbs - native to the Mediterranean region. The name Narcissus is derived from that of the narcissistic youth of Greek mythology called Narkissos.. The name Daffodil is derived from an earlier "affodell", a variant of asphodel. The reason for the introduction of the initial "d" is not known, though from at least the sixteenth century "Daffadown Dilly" or "daffadowndilly" has appeared as a playful synonym of the name. The Daffodil flower stood for chivalry in Victorian England, because it stood in the snow, waiting for the rest of the flowers of spring.
24
Steps to Growing Daffodils.
• Choose a well-drained, sunny place, with a slightly acidic soil. • Plant your Daffodils so that their top (pointed end) is at least two times as deep as the bulb is high (top of a 2" bulb is 4" deep). • Plant bulbs deeper in sandy soil than in clay. • High-nitrogen fertilizers should be avoided. • Daffodils need lots of water while they are growing. • After blooming, never cut the foliage until it begins to turn yellow (usually late May or June). • This is then the time to dig them. Wash the bulbs thoroughly and let them dry completely (at least a week). • Put them in onion sacks (or panty hose) and hang them in the coolest place you can find until they're ready to plant. Good air circulation will keep the storage rot at a minimum.

Home. It’s one of the most beautiful four-letter words in the English language. Se habla Espanol, “Casa”. Bello, precioso.
Eastern Kentucky University. Indulge me as I share a few of my personal favorites.
When I was recently released from Medical Center of Trinity following an emergency appendectomy, I could not wait to go home. The first thing I posted on Facebook when I arrived was “There’s no place like home,” a famous line delivered by “Dorothy”, played by Judy Garland in the 1939 classic film, “The Wizard of Oz,” and also from the famous quote by John Howard Payne. I immediately began receiving “Likes” to my simple, yet heartfelt post.
Mi casa es su casa. (My home is your home.) For a man’s (home) is his castle... Sir Edward Coke, 1644
In issues past, I have referenced “My Old Kentucky Home,” as I grew up just two blocks from the actual estate where Stephen Foster wrote his classic folk tune, in my hometown of Bardstown. I remember needlepoint works and embroideries that my elders lovingly created, adorning the walls of foyers: “Home Sweet Home” and “Home is Where the Heart Is”. Modern day craftsman still stencil or paint these phrases on decorative panels of various shapes and sizes to suit one’s décor. There are numerous lines, quotes and titles that reflect the beauty of the word “Home” and its intrinsic meaning. Some have been quick to recall, others I have sought from Bartlett’s Book of Familiar Quotations, one of my favorite reference books since my days at
’Mid pleasures and palaces though we may roam, be it ever so humble, there’s no place like home. John Howard Payne, 1823 Home is where one starts from. T.S. Lena Guilbert Ford 1915 It takes a heap o’ livin’ in a house t’ make it home… Edgar Albert Guest 1881-1959 How does it feel to be on your own with no direction home like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone. Bob Dylan 1965 This will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave. Why Your Business Needs Local SEO Any business that gets some or all of its customers or clients locally should have a high priority on local SEO. If you have a physical address in a city, you should be doing local SEO for that location. How many times have you asked yourself; am I getting new clients for my business from my website? You may have a first class website, but if you don’t have an SEO program that is actively promoting your website, then you are missing out on getting new business from local search results. Your competitors are using SEO to attract new business through their websites. If you want to have a larger share of the business coming from online searches then you need to have an SEO program for your website. The first step in your website SEO program is to start with local SEO. This begins with setting up local places accounts with Google, Yahoo and Bing. In conjunction with the Google places account, a Google+ account
should be created as both accounts are linked together by Google. One of the major advantages of Google+ is that it is an excellent (and often used) location to collect reviews of your business from your customers. The next step in your local SEO program is to submit your business to the top 30 business directories; this is known as creating citations. It is important to set up these citations properly. How all of these citations for the local places accounts and business directories are configured is important to ensure that the best possible search results can be obtained. If you do not currently have a local SEO program working for you, consider taking advantage of special program pricing from Websitedzyn. Websitedzyn is offering special pricing for this local SEO program for your business for a one-time cost of $300 (this offer is good until 3/31/2013).

HOW CAN MY CHILD GET A BETTER FINANCIAL AID PACKAGE? By: Todd Unbehagen, MAFM, EA, ATA, ATP President of Unbehagen Advisors If your child is accepted at a college, he or she will get a financial aid award letter that contains: (1) the college’s cost of attendance (COA) (this figure is different for every college); (2) your expected family contribution (EFC), which is calculated from the federal government’s aid application (this figure is constant); and (3) the specific types and amount of aid being offered. The difference between the college’s COA and your EFC equals your child’s financial need. The college’s financial aid administrator will attempt to meet this need by offering aid that includes a mix of loans, grants, scholarships, and work-study.
work-study component. Your chances of prevailing are best in two situations:
Let’s assume you and your child are comparing financial aid awards from several colleges. Is it possible to request a more favorable aid package? The answer is yes. Financial aid administrators have the authority to exercise “professional judgment” to reduce the loan portion of an aid award and increase the grant, scholarship, and/or
Even if neither of these situations applies, you can still contact the college’s aid administrator. In any case, the best approach is to send a polite business letter, with a follow-up telephone call or meeting. Explain in positive terms how much your child wants to attend that college and highlight your child’s accomplishments. Your success will
(1) You have a special circumstance that affects your ability to pay. Examples include a recent job loss, high medical bills, or some other factor that puts above-average constraints on your income. (2) Your child has been accepted at two competing colleges, and one has offered a more generous aid package. Many colleges don’t mind losing an applicant to a more (or less) selective college, but they generally don’t like to lose an applicant to a direct competitor.
likely depend on whether your child will help the college meet its enrollment goals, and the amount of discretionary aid the college has available. Lastly, you should review the Florida based student scholarship and grant programs that are available to Florida students for college. I advise starting this review process when your child is attending middle school! One example is the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program. It is available to all Florida students that meet certain requirements in their high school career. For more information on Florida specific financial aid opportunities go to www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org Thank you, Todd Unbehagen, MAFM, EA, ATA, ATP President, Unbehagen Advisors PS. ON THE BLOCK Here are 10 reasons why your child should put down the remote and pick up a musical instrument. 1. It will boost their brain power Music simply stimulates parts of the brain that are related to reading, math, and emotional development. 2. It will improve their memory Further research has shown that participation in music at an early age can help improve a child's learning ability and memory by stimulating different patterns of brain development. 3. It helps them socially Picking up an instrument can also help your child break out of their social shell too, experts say. 4. It's a confidence builder If you want your child to develop their confidence, learning to play a musical instrument can help. 5. It teaches patience When you are playing in a band or orchestra (and most musicians do), you have to be willing to wait your turn to play otherwise the sound is a mess.

6. It can help them connect It can satisfy the need to unwind from the worries of life, but unlike the other things people often use for this purpose, such as excessive eating, drinking, or TV or aimless web browsing. 7. It's constant learning Music is inexhaustible -- there is always more to learn. 8. It's a great form of expression But how can kids really do that? One great way is through the arts -- like music. It gives pleasure and expresses nuances of emotional life for which there are no words. 9. It teaches discipline There's this old joke that begins "How do you get to Carnegie Hall?" The answer? "Practice, practice, practice." To improve in music, you have to not only do well in classes, but devote time to practicing outside of the lessons too. That requires discipline. 10. It fosters creativity Above all, playing music -- particularly as kids get to more advanced levels in it -- is a creative pursuit. Creatively is good for the mind, body and soul. Olivia Maynard – Age 11 Winner of KIDS, Do You Like to Write? Do you think that school should be all year round or do you think it is important to continue summer break? The tick tock of the clock repeated over and over in Olivia’s mind. She couldn’t wait until the beginning of summer break when the principal made an announcement. ‘’All students and teachers will be continuing the school year throughout the summer.’’ It was like a sea of gray almost as if all of the students had never seen the sun shine on their faces. The students went back to their 5th grade classrooms and continued with their math lesson. It seemed to be dragging on forever. Olivia didn’t understand why she had to continue school for almost another whole 3 months. She was a straight A student and she completely understood the math lesson. It wasn’t fair that people like her had to stay at school for their whole summer vacation but an idea flashed into Olivia’s brain. What Olivia was going to do something out of the ordinary. Olivia was going to break the rules if she wanted to carry out her plan. What she did first was hack into her principal’s computer and send a message to the district school board about an emergency meeting. When the office staff was on their lunch break Olivia asked her teacher to go to the bathroom. When she did she snuck down the stairs like a shadow. Fortunately, the door was unlocked so she snuck on the principal’s computer and sent an email to the school board for a meeting. Now that the hard part of her plan was done she had to begin to write a speech about why kids shouldn’t have to stay in school the whole summer break. First she thought up of a few reasons of why kids should have their summer break. She thought about how kids wouldn’t be fit if they were in school all summer. They wouldn’t be as active. Pouring over books all day may just fill the kids brains with to much information. The students would soon be bored of sitting still all day and they wouldn’t pay attention to what their teachers are talking about. Their brains would zone out and drift away like a cloud in the sky. Olivia thought her speech was pretty impressive and she couldn’t wait to share it with the district school board of Pasco County. The meeting was going to be held in one week and she couldn’t wait until then.

‘’Waaaaaaaaaake up!’’ the sound of Olivia’s alarm clock said with a cheer. Olivia glanced at her calendar and today was the day of the meeting. Olivia’s eyes glowed with confidence. Today she would change history. All of the headlines would read… ‘’No more school over the summer.’’ Olivia could just picture the day when everyone at school would praise her and she would be the talk that shifts ear to ear. She tiptoed into her mother’s closet and ‘’borrowed’’ a suit jacket that she would wear when she spoke in front of the board. She was so exited. Olivia had been so secretive about her idea. She hadn’t told her closest friends Brooke, Amelia, Rachel, or even Paige. After school Olivia decided that she was going to tell her mom that she had an extra practice for drama club. Olivia was on her way to the meeting walking through the halls with a little spring in her step. Olivia walked through the doors and the staff’s mouths were gaping open. Now that Olivia had everybody’s attention she began her speech. She told about how students wouldn’t have any time to play with their friends. She explained how students would soon begin to loose their social skills because of the lack of time. Olivia also pointed out the fact that there wouldn’t be any time for family vacations. Not to mention the fact that their wouldn’t really be a transition time to transfer from one grade to another. Olivia concluded her speech with a smile so much bigger and brighter than the sun. The staff murmured when Olivia’s principal raised a hand to gather everyone’s attention. The rules were changed! Olivia ran home to her parents to share her accomplishments. At first they weren’t too happy with Olivia’s behavior but they were too proud of their daughter to punish her. Everything Olivia could have ever wished for was right here in this moment. As you can see I don’t think that schools should continue the school year throughout the summer. I enjoy school but it is important every now and then to have a break.
