FO R E W O R D [ M O R E S TEP S F U RTHE R]
In 2022, I co-founded Designated Den, an architecture design team. Our work spans various commercial and residential projects, cultivating my skills in design thinking, project acquisition, and team management . My career journey was ignited during my time at PHL Architects , where I embraced a collaborative approach, focusing on construction intricacies and architectural entrepreneurship. My ultimate goal as an architect is to give back to the community while expanding my own horizons, creating a positive and meaningful impact . Along this journey, I’ve come to believe that there is a vast spectrum of knowledge and skills beyond the theoretical aspects of architecture that play pivotal roles in decision-making. Skills such as effective communication, creative problem-solving, and a deep understanding of social and environmental perspectives are equally vital in creating impactful architectural designs. As I reflect on my journey, I am excited to continue exploring and learning, especially in the areas of design thinking, collaborative works, business strategies, construction details and approaches, sustainability, and community engagement . The architectural world is a canvas where each project is a unique opportunity to create something beautiful, functional, and purposeful. It’s a canvas I eagerly continue to paint on.

SINGKAWANG MASTERPLAN PROJECT
Singkawang is a small city in West Kalimantan, Indonesia. The city has been home to an ethnically diverse community for many generations, with three major ethnic groups of Tidayu: Tionghoa (Chinese-Indonesian), Dayak & Melayu. This diversity enriches Singkawang with abundant art & culture, featured on their annual cultural events as their main tourism attraction, such as Cap Go Meh Festival.
Despite its cultural richness, poverty is still a big issue for the whole community. The problem seems to be worrying since many younger generations prefer to migrate outside the city to achieve better opportunities. Responding to this issue yet encouraging its multicultural richness & values, a new master plan for future Singkawang City aims to be a breakthrough in generating its urban development. 37
PROVOTECTURE 2018 CONTRIBUTION: Exhibit Content Volunteer
Our initial strategy in re-constructing the urban fabric in Singkawang is by displaying new architectural designs in selec ted primary spots in the city. This a ction aims to trigger the urban revitalization of this old town district to support cultural, social, and economic empowerment through tourism. Therefore, a revitalization can help to promote the city’s cultural potential.
