Well, they've got a few new bits lined up for the next few months and for 2015, the caravan is the largest of those and is coming along really nicely - it's booked in for fayres from September. It'll be white with a sage green stripe running along it and will house a built-in photobooth complete with all of the usual props and fun. It’ll also include a chalkboard on the door, bunting, LED lighting,.....along with a selection of a few theme ideas - classic British seaside, village fete, countryside chic and so on. That’s not it folks! Other projects they have on the side-lines, are a seaside/beach themed booth with the camera and printer housed in a mini beach hut - ideal for blow up sharks, cocktail props and summer parties........a 50s American diner/rockabilly type of booth too, incorporating a Chevy tail as a seat and a jukebox........finally a cinema/awards night themed booth with our vintage 1920s cinema seats, theatre curtain drape background and giant boxes of popcorn.

Personally I've never been happy with 'just the norm' which shows in everything we do – even our 'regular' photobooth is totally flexible for individual needs rather than just being a static pod. We've always thought outside the box – in this case, quite literally!

Decorations are what bring a wedding together and they are particularly important for a vintage theme. Mixing the new with authentic vintage items creates a retro feel with a fresh perspective for the 21st century wedding- this applies to any aspect of the day, a combination of the old and new is a great place to start when planning your vintage inspired event. You can use mismatched cups and saucers which you can find in charity shops, car boot sales and even your grandma’s attic! If trailing through shops is not your thing then there are companies who can hire said items out to you, for example the company ‘My Vintage Party’. Use old birdcages or candelabras as centre pieces instead of flowers and hang bunting on trees and around tables- bunting can be made easily by yourself at home if you are on a budget which is an added bonus. If you like the idea of having flowers then use country flowers from your garden and place them in vintage jugs or tea pots. You could also use old glass bottles and put a single flower in each which can be scattered around the room or lined up down the dining table. Another quirky idea is you can hang or stand large painted letters spelling out words to capture the mood- I could go on and on! If vintage is your thing, then be prepared to search shops and websites for ideas and quirky items which will bring together the vintage theme.

With vintage, it’s all about being confident with your styling and committing to your chosen look. Vintage glamour is the ultimate in celebrating all that is feminine and sexy and it helps to get a skilled professional to help achieve an authentic look. Everyone knows the iconic red lip is associated with ‘vintage’ so be brave and wear a bright lip; it will look amazing and uber glam- Nars do great red lipstick and stains so have a look there if you’re stuck for ideas. Long lashes and defined eyes also work well with a red lip, for example lining the eyes with black or brown eyeliner to make them into a feline shape is a popular vintage look. As well as the makeup, hair is another big style statement. Soft loose curls swept over to one side is a classic look as well as hair softly crimped and pinned into a side bun, perhaps with a flower holding it in place. If you have chosen to wear a vintage headpiece or tiara, make that the statement in your hair and keep the hair style quite simple- soft curls make more of a statement than you may think. It’s the same with your makeup- if you have statement pieces of jewellery, then only choose one statement makeup look, for example a red lip paired with natural eye-makeup. Vintage styling is all about glamour so as long as you keep that in mind and do some proper research, you are good to go.

The options are never-ending for vintage wedding dresses and are available everywhere which is good news for all you beautiful brides. You could take a vintage wedding dress pattern which you love to a dress-maker or even to any good wedding dress shop and have them incorporate the pattern into the dress or even make it into an authentic, one-off outfit just for you. Soft and demure dresses are a great choice, whether it is lacy or in a light chiffon material as it adds to the feminine quality of a vintage look and also leaves your hair, make-up and accessories to do the talking. To go with your dress, you could wear a pair of see through lace gloves which is the ultimate vintage style and will be sure to wow your guests at the attention to detail you have put in. Layering differing materials within your dress is another lovely touch, for example your dress could be lace with a silk bow at the back. Vintage weddings seem to be very popular these days so you will definitely not be short of help and advice on how to create your perfect day, vintage style!

NEW VINTAGE VS OLD VINTAGE
It is now the 100th Anniversary of the beginning of World War One, and this shoot was to commemorate this special occasion, but also to celebrate both Old and New vintage styles. We hope we have captured a representation of both.
Thanks to everyone for being part of our photo-shoot. It was a brilliant day despite the rain, and we managed to capture some brilliant shots, to commemorate the beginning of World War I. We hope everyone managed to exhibit their work in the way they wanted to!

When I think ‘Vintage,’ afternoon tea and cake comes to mind- how about you?! Designing your menu around an idea like this keeps its simple, organised and also encapsulates the vintage feel perfectly. If you are having a summer wedding, go for a summer picnic theme and use mini picnic baskets filled with goodies- for example the starter could be presented to your guests in these little baskets which will be entertaining and look fantastic. As mentioned earlier, afternoon tea is a lovely theme for your meal. Remember wedding dining does not have to be elaborate three course meals, what’s great about taking inspiration from vintage is you can have fun and not be too traditional! Have a buffet which is filled with finger sandwiches with all different fillings, scotch eggs and sausage rolls. If these are professionally made, they can look and taste exquisite as well as being ultra retro. For dessert have tea and cakes; again cakes can be made in all different flavours and decorations. Don’t forget to show off your pretty cakes and sandwiches on tiered serving plates for that authentic feel.

In terms of entertainment, live music will really give you a vintage feel over a DJ. You can hire a band that plays music from specific decades such as the 20’s or 50’s and 60’s which will capture the heart of whatever decade you choose and will certainly get your guests up and dancing the night away. You can also ask the band members to dress according to your chosen era, including hair and makeup for the ladies to give you ultimate authenticity. Another idea you could think of is hiring a gypsy jazz band which could play outside whilst your guests mingle if you are having an outdoor wedding. As the title of this feature suggests, hiring a band who are perhaps dressed in black and white suits will also capture the vintage theme and adds a touch of class to your entertainment. Live music is not the only option as there are plenty of entertainment companies who offer dance groups which also capture a particular era. You can even get an all singing and all dancing band if you want to go all out, just choose a company who specialise in ‘vintage’ and there are an array of vintage wedding suppliers to choose from let me tell you!

Vintage bridal accessories are all about a mix of old and new as mentioned previously and it is easy to add real vintage accessories. There are some really good designers who make bespoke jewellery from original vintage pieces, for example Flo and Percy. Vintage tiaras, bracelets, necklaces and hair accessories can all be found from varying suppliers and will make you feel like a true vintage princess if there is such a thing! If you happen to be on a budget, ask your mum or grandma if they have any pieces of jewellery, perhaps from their wedding which will not only cut down the cost but will be unbelievably special and sentimental. A chunky pearl necklace or bracelet is a great accessory for the bride and if you feel this is too much choose small pearl earrings which will look just as elegant and pretty especially if your hair is going to be up and away from your face. Broaches are another idea and can be pinned to your dress, a jacket if you are wearing one or can even be placed in your hair. There are plenty of vintage style broaches, both original and copied- look on Asos for some great examples. Again it’s all about doing some mega searching for the right items which in my opinion, is a fun job!

I trained for 2 yrs within a salon based in Soho, London, who would often take part in competitions and be involved in magazine shoots that required us making huge transformations on clients! Here, my love for extensions started!! I'm a fully qualified colour technician specialising in
the Wella brand and have always adored the dramatic difference you can make in someone in a short space of time.... Hence why extensions were the next step for me. Our aim now is to become the "go to" place for brides to be and their friends! With a fully qualified beautician joining our team we will be able to offer you the works from your tan to your hair to your nails and even to your make up!! making the stressful tasks of getting all these appointments, simply done under one roof! (with added delight of a champagne refreshment!!) Being a bride to be myself, I KNOW what a difference this is going to make to MY day and I hope we can do the same for others!
