TIS THE SEASON TO BE JOLLY… And merry… and resolute… and in love… and, and, and. The holidays… from Christmas to New Years to Valentines… It’s months and months of cheer and jeer. Cheer, for ‘Horray, it’s vacay!’ Jeer, as in ‘Oh, gotta-getta-date!’ Who to Secret Santa? Who to kiss at midnight? Who to do on V-day? The holidays are a bundle of excitement and anxiety, all in one breath; happiness and horridness; a time of love and a time of hate. They are the epitome of everything and nothingness wrapped into one big surprise… A surprise that usually is on us. What makes the holidays, THE HOLIDAYS? Commercialism? Consumerism? Egoism? Who knows… and frankly, who cares? The point is, we don’t have to wait for a day to celebrate our lives, to show others our love or to spread peace and joy. We don’t have to fret about being alone on the 25th or the 1st or the 14th—because all year round there are people who truly love us and care about us if we just look up and notice. So, enjoy the special days we celebrate—and know that the ordinary ones in between are extraordinary in many, many ways. It’s all in the details of the days—the laughs we share over a great joke, the smiles we exchange as we pass each other by in the hallway and the hugs and kisses we give and get out of sheer and genuine affection. Got a chance, grabbed it and ever since then my moto has been “I take my job very seriously and give it my all, but I never take myself too seriously” it’s just a job! Is the job as fun as it looks? Lots of fun. Tiring. Stress. Hectic. But lots and lots of fun!

What was your most successful story or show? Do share a scenario! Star Academy of course. It is what made me and gave me my place in the world of television as a prominent TV Presenter. I found in me the courage to take on a LIVE entertainment show all by myself which I never knew I had. Which star would you be ‘star struck’ if you had the chance to meet or present? It used to be Michael Jackson or Whitney Houston. Maybe now it would be Robert De nero or AL Pacino. I also love Bruno Mars.

Even though they originate from different backgrounds and cultures, there is a very strong bonding feel that you can clearly feel and sense while with them; it’s like a family with members that have lived many years in different countries and suddenly reunited for this long week-end! For us, it was clear that the head of their family, is Baccardi. You can clearly tell that the 3 of them are really tight; a friendship that might only be few years old but surely seems that it goes way back. Travelling together, working, meeting people gave them a connection that is like no other; ‘We were different outfits but we are in the same party’ Tom comes from the north in the UK, where people tend to stay where they are raised and never leave their town; he sure did! David is know to be senior daiquiri! Dedication at its most! It’s his iconic, symbolic etiquette to which he became famous for around the years. Danile is known to be honest & direct; he’s been around long enough and knows exactly where his passion is. Rum!

Many places.. The industry is very transient; being in the business, moving on in the career takes you places; if you stay for too long in a certain place, you will reach a ceiling and then you will have to move on again to find a better challenge; since most opportunities happen at the right time & place, moving on from place to place increases our chances in finding the level next of our passion; What brought you guys together? Baccardi brought us together; it’s our family brand, which makes us feel like brothers; a mission and an attachment; the Rrum facilitates the relationship between us; it is the brand, the family member and the mission that unites us.

What is Premium to you? The premium feel behind the brand is having the ability to unite bartenders from the world via Baccardi and have them represent the brand and compete with hundreds of others and win; for us, this is what premium is all about! It’s simply elegance! What is the perfect cocktail made of? Rum and of course a lot of Love! What cocktail do you think needs a name change? Porn star martini! But having said that, we also believe that the name really resembles the drink at a certain time and place, and it defines it so we tend to respect the names and take them as they are, without judging them.

What is a really cool name you’ve heard for a drink? Mother superior; when you hear this name, you just want to have it! The weirdest drink you got asked? Old fashioned and egg white! That was a weird request! If you had one super power, what would it be? Tom would want to learn languages. David would travel in time and see the glorious times of elegance. Daniel would like to fly! Best cure for hangovers? Gatorade or coconut water or rehydrated sachets.

OFIS Arhitekti has completed a bulbous, spotty stadium for Belarusian football club FC BATE Borisov. Located in a forest area south of Borisov city centre, the 13,000-seat arena creates a new larger home stadium for FC BATE Borisov, the reigning champions of the Belarusian Premier League. Slovenian firm OFIS Arhitekti, whose previous projects include student housing modelled on wooden baskets, gave the stadium a domed shape clad with shimmering aluminium panels and punctured by an assortment of blob-shaped windows. The intention was to recreate the appearance of fabric stretched over bones. “The skin of the dome gives an impression of a fragile stretched perforated textile pulled over the stadium skeleton,” said the designers. The rounded shape was engineered to improve acoustics on the pitch, which is oriented north to south to ensure that sunlight is evenly distributed for both teams playing in a match. Approximately 3,000 square metres of public facilities are located

behind the curving facade on ground-floor level, at the north, south and east ends of the stadium. These include restaurants, bars, shops, a bowling alley and a fitness centre. A naturally ventilated visitor’s foyer is located on the level above. Designed as “a place to break during half-time”, it offers toilets, bars, a first-aid room and a detention area. Spectator seating is arranged in rows of 17 along the main sides, and in rows of 27-28 at the two ends.The upper west gallery is reserved for press, with seating for up to 40 journalists, while VIP stands with 250 seats are positioned on the east side. Car parking is located in the forest areas around the perimeter, although the architects say that they avoided felling trees where feasible. “The concept takes into account the natural advantages of the location and the existing interventions within the terrain, while maintaining as many of the existing trees on site as possible,” they said.

On the Dbayeh seaside lays a busy construction site for a community in the making. Eden Rock Architects: Achour Holding Location: Lebanon

Achour Holding is developing a new luxury hotel and residential block in Ramlet al-Baideh, on Beirut’s seaside. Eden Rock Resort is now under construction and will cover over 22,000 square meters. The development of this project in the current climate is a big challenge, but represents Achour Holding’s belief in Lebanon and its people, says Manal al-Dana, group marketing and communications manager at Achour. Eden Rock Resort will consist of a hotel, a residential tower, chalets and exclusive access to a private beach and marina. The 17-story residential tower contains fully furnished apartments ranging from studios of 55 square meters to large three-bedroom flats of 211 square meters. In addition to the private beach, the apartments also include several amenities for residents such as a spa, shopping area, gym and four pools – a VIP, hotel, kids’ and Olympic pool – while the marina has the capacity to hold up to 30 boats and also boasts several restaurants and five bars. The project is slated for completion in five years but the apartments are already up for sale. The starting price for a ground floor apartment in the residential block is $16,000 per square meter
