Mother Jones continued
Starting in 1872, Mother Jones dedicated herself to the causeof organizing in theUS Labor Movement Shewas tireless in her work for the protection and rights of workers and against injustice in general Despite facing legal challenges and imprisonment, Mother Jones continued her work as a labor and social activist, advocating for workers' rights and social justice until her death in 1930 Early on in her work, shegained National Prominence In 1902, Mother Jones was called " the most dangerous woman in America" by theWest Virginian district attorney, ReeseBlizzard, during an anti-labor trial. The outcome of thetrial was that Mother Jones was found guilty of violating the injunction and was sentenced to twenty years in prison. However, this harsh sentence drew national attention and widespread public sympathy for her cause. Eventually, her sentence was commuted, and she was released from prison after serving about a year.
