efore the dreaded coronavirus CoViD-19 became such a nuisance to travellers, our school organized a study tour to southwestern China in the province of Sichuan. Known for its spicy cuisine, Sichuan is home to the giant pandas. Sichuanese operas, famous for its fire-breathing performances, add to the allure of

this captivating province, making it a truly red-hot destination. Our students explored Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan, and other neighbouring locations where they visited temples, museums, and the riverside town of Huanglongxi. Sichuan itself contains a part of the famous Yangtze, Asia’s
longest river and while our explorers only got to see Fuhe River, this water system connects to Yangtze via the Min River. Although travelling to China might not be a good idea these days due to the ongoing threat of the coronavirus, the students will always have fond memories of their time in Sichuan as these photos, sans masks, show.
