Negotiations. It's a small part of what's involved in a real estate transaction, and also an extremely valuable skill set for an agent to possess. Did you know that when buying or selling a home there are a few things that can be negotiated besides the price? The closing date is usually the next point that is top of everyone's list. The deposit can sometimes make a difference, as well as more 'minor' details such as inclusions or exclusions, repairs and cleaning before a turnover. When negotiating it’s important for both parties to be happy with the outcome. It's important for home owners, buyers and real estate agents to try to be firm but fair, reasonable, and to respect each side. Negotiation is not about arguing, and you can't have the mindset as a buyer or a seller that it's about "winning."
