Where to Start Google Glasses Finding an idea for this project was rather difficult to say the least. Trying to critique the world is always a rather broad area for me to narrow down to just one topic. As I was looking through the depths of Google I came across a article about the mind blowing technology that will be out by 2021. After reading the article I became fascinated with the prospect of how far technology is coming and how reliant and attached we are to it. Which then became my Aha moment as to what I wanted to focus on for the project.

Oculus Rift- Gaming

Eye Tribe- Detects eye movement

Bionics

3D Printing

Mammoth being genetically reborn

Research Before I could know what I was going to physically design, I decided to look further into what technology could be like in the future and what sort of an impact it could have on our world. I discovered the Transhumanism movement, also known as H+, which lead me in the right direction as to what I should be studying, It came up with how humans will eventually become cyborgs with the amount of technology we have now and how much more we will be getting in the future.

Trask Industries I decided to look at how companies were selling the future technology, that way by recreating my own company I can use similar methods to sell and promote the company. It was around this time that I remembered something from a trailer I watched earlier in the year. Trask industries was originally a comic book nemesis to the X-Men who created war weaponry to wipe out the mutant gene and the mutants themselves. Fox magnificently recreated the industry and instead of putting the stereotypical trailer, they promoted the same sentinel that is in the film, even going as far as creating a website for the industry that if someone was not paying attention or did not know the comics would think it was real.

Web Design

After finding Trask Industries I was really taken to the idea of creating my own company and a website to go with it. So after I pondered it I looked into futuristic web designs and layouts to see if I could get inspired into certain themes and designs. It was really easy to get lost into this part of the research as I love looking at examples of web layout and design. It makes me so inspired to one day have the potential to create websites similar or equally as awe inspiring.

Logo & Product Working next on the company Name, Logo, and the product I was trying to sell. I had it narrowed down to two names, Systems+ and Synectics, because I liked the delicate curves the S’s made and worked that into the logo itself. While adding bars to resemble DNA strands as well as to form a rough shape of an eye. Working from there I decided to use the curves into the product itself

Synetics Industry

Web Progress Working on the web design, I started with the overall theme and aesthetic of the home page and continued that aesthetic throughout the website. I decided to go with hexagonal shapes because they appear like molecule strands which would give the scientific look I am going for. Working with the background I decided to use a picture of Chicago to make it feel more metropolitan and higher class.

Final Products I am very pleased with the final products. I added a poster to tie the campaign together rather than just having the website. The poster leaves a mysterious air about it that would make the viewers want to figure out who the company is and what they can provide to them.
