We are so excited for our upcoming 20th Anniversary Celebration this April 14th and 15th! We have some fun things in the works so Stay Tuned.
Letter from the Editor
It’s 2023 y’all! Happy New Year! I truly hope you and yours had a wonderful holiday season and got to enjoy time with those you love. 2022 was not the best year for our family as we endured the grief and struggles that come with losing a very close family member. But with loss and struggle always comes growth and reflection on what truly matters in life. I would like to think that I personally have discovered some things about myself that will be beneficial going forward into this new year and beyond. I am excited of the new possibilities and opportunities a new year brings and look forward to not just the good things but the hard things too.
With this in mind, I would encourage you to think about how you would like to grow personally in 2023. What new things will you try this year? What challenges will you accept to help you grow? And thinking about expanding your creative self in 2023… will you take on a difficult quilt project? Will you get out that serger and try to make a new shirt? Will you sign up for a new class, not just for the education but for the possibility of meeting a new friend that shares in your same interests?
You will notice that we have some changes for you this year. It starts with this Stash Newsletter, and that we are no longer delivering it to your mailbox at home. We understand that this will come with some mixed opinions and hope you will understand that these decisions are never taken lightly. I love that you love to receive and read this newsletter. It is truly a labor of love, and it delights me that it brings you joy as well. It will be an adjustment to read it in a different way, but I am confident that this change will still bring happiness to your creative spirit, no matter what way you receive it. Be sure to also take note of some other changes coming your way in the “Who Moved My Cheese” article on the next page. Please never hesitate to reach out to me with your comments, suggestions, and feedback. I am always open to hearing from you!
Once again, Happy New Year everyone! We can’t wait to see what you stitch up in 2023 and we hope for the opportunity to help you every step of the way.
Happy Sewing!
Jennifer and the Entire Quiltique Family
Have you read that famous motivational book “Who Moved My Cheese?”. It is a parable story about how change is hard but if you stop fearing what lies ahead, we can thrive with change in our lives. Well, we would like to apologize in advance for moving your cheese!
Here at Quiltique we are always looking to make things better for everyone. That includes you our customers, our teachers, and our team that serves you. While we understand that change can make some of us uncomfortable, we believe that these changes and new experiences are best for the long-term vitality of our business and our commitment to providing you with the best possible service, experience, and education we can. Here are some of the new things you can expect in 2023:
THE STASH NEWSLETTER – Is going digital! You can enjoy the same content and class listings you have come to expect in our printed newsletter, but it will be delivered to your inbox instead of your mailbox. You can now interact with The Stash on your computer or smart device and enjoy more content beyond the pages with “hot” links to enhance your reading experience and enjoyment.
CLASS LINEUP – We are trying something a bit different for our class offerings, shifting our focus to more techniques in quilting, sewing and machine embroidery as opposed to offering very specific projects that may or may not teach you anything new. There will not be expensive books you have to purchase, or a big kit to buy. Just some simple materials or supplies to teach you “HOW TO” and get you more confidence for any project YOU CHOOSE to tackle. Open sewing days are still offered with a bit more specificity so that you can get the most out of your time in the classroom with the educators.
CLASS DISCOUNT DAY – Will now be Class Kickoff Day! You will continue to receive discounts when you sign up for class, but we are extending them beyond one specific day. Class Kickoff Day will be in-store on the usual Friday for our Star Club Members (no change there), and on Saturday for everyone both in-store AND online. You will receive your discount on your supplies (from the class supply list) on the day you sign up for class, whether that be at Class Kickoff Day or beyond. One other change is that there will not be projects on display in the classroom. Since we have changed our class focus, at least for now, to include less projects and more technique, there are not many projects to show you. But don’t worry, the classes that still do have a related project, will be available for you to see in person.
COUPONS – If you noticed already that there are no coupons on the back page of the newsletter, don’t worry. The monthly coupons are not going away, they’re moving. Please make sure you are receiving our online weekly newsletter called “Sew You Know!” which arrives on Fridays. Here is where you will find weekly updates on new products, featured kits, special events, free patterns, BERNINA and Baby Lock happenings, and more! It is basically The Stash Newsletter in a condensed weekly form. In this weekly email, you will find not just monthly, but weekly savings throughout the shop, usually available both in-store and online as well. Make sure to add your email here to keep informed!
TEXT COMMUNICATIONS – We told you last Stash about SMS (text) messaging coming soon. We apologize for the delay, but we are still working out the details. We hope to have this new and convenient way of communication to you in early 2023. We will let you know by email when to expect this new feature!
So those are the changes in a nutshell! Please feel free, as always, to reach out with any comments, concerns or questions you may have about all that’s “new”. We value your feedback as it is important to make sure we are meeting your creative needs. Email us here!
We are happy to announce that the 2023 Star Club Party is scheduled for March 4th!
