Letter from the Editor
Happy New Year! Welcome to 2024! Isn’t there just something so fantastic about a new year? A fresh start! Well at least I happen to think so. I wanted to share with you a new tradition that I have started and hope to continue doing each and every new year. It is goal setting. Do you set new goals for yourself each year? I am not talking about New Years Resolutions, but goals that you want to work toward this year. This is more of a work in progress of yourself, instead of a decree that you will or won’t do something. I will first start by looking back at what I have done and accomplished this last year. The good, the awesome, the bad and the forgettable. (To jog your memory, look at your phone photos from that last year.) Write down those experiences. Then, use what you learned from your past year, to set your goals for the new year. For example, if you started a new quilt project, got a third of the way through it, then put it aside and worked on something else; why did you do that? What was it about that quilt that you did not like or enjoy? Maybe you discovered that you do not like to do applique. Or maybe you made a quilt and gave it away to charity. What did you learn from that experience about yourself? Take all these thoughts, insights and experiences and use them to set new goals for the coming year. When you do this, remember to make them SMART goals (you can google what a SMART goal is), and break the goal into smaller steps with markers to hit along the way. This way, if you have a big and lofty goal, you can set smaller goals to reach and feel accomplishment along the journey. I personally have goals in the categories of my health, my business, and my creativity. There are other important categories such as spirituality, money, relationships, environment, and so on. So, what will you choose? Where would you like to see improvement in yourself this year? We can all grow in so many ways every day, month and year. I hope creativity is on your list too and you accomplish all you wish to achieve in this coming 2024. On another quick note, this is our 50th Edition of The Stash Newsletter! Isnt that crazy? Lots has changed and evolved over the last 16 plus years of these pages, but my hope is that it still brings joy to your inbox. Please always feel free and empowered to tell us your thoughts, ideas, likes and dislikes so that we can keep delivering happiness. CHEERS! Jennifer and the entire Quiltique Family

ITCH TO STITCH…
Cross-stitch that is! We are happy to announce that we have a new Cross-Stitch department…well small department here in the shop. Cross stitch is making a comeback among modern makers and crafters or you may have been “x-stitching” for years! Quiltique is now a source for yummy hand-dyed floss from Weeks Dye Works, Aida cloth from Fabric Flair and Charles Craft, and patterns from Primrose Cottage, Its Sew Emma, Shannon Cristine and More! Not to mention all the fun needle minders, floss organizers, needles and hoops. If you are not familiar with cross-stitching but are intrigued and looking for another creative craft, you can join our beginner class with Kori in February. Learning how to cross stitch is easy, and Kori will get you stitching in no time! But be warned, you may find yourself getting hooked on this take-it-with-you handiwork. Stop by and take a look at what fun we have to offer!

ALL NEW FORMAT! BERNINA SOFTWARE BUILDING BLOCKS Six All New Lessons Beginning in February
EXCITING NEWS! Introducing the all-new BERNINA Skill Hub! The BERNINA Skill Hub is an online learning platform where sewists (that’s you!) can take on-demand courses to learn more about your BERNINA machine. You can gain supplemental learning in addition to the Mastery Classes you were given here at Quiltique with your new machine purchase. This is a new way to keep what you learned in class and “take it with you”. Maybe you forgot a few things or want to practice something you learned with a little guided help. The Skill Hub is the answer. These online classes do not replace your in-shop classes (which are required to maintain your warranty) but are meant to be supplemental in nature. Current courses available now include the 7-Series, Embroidery Software V9, a guide to computer basics, and L8 Overlockers. Many more are on the way! Please ask Lynne or Bob how you can get this fantastic addon educational experience.
Join our in-house embroidery expert Lynne and BERNINA Software Educator Debbi Lashbrook as they guide you through the world of BERNINA Embroidery Software in 2024! In the new Building Blocks of Software V9, there are six skill level lessons for different experience levels of software enthusiasts! Each lesson will include two parts; a basic lesson for beginners and a second lesson covering more advanced topics for those with software experience. We will meet in the classroom as done in years past and lessons will be presented by a recorded video lesson, via the all-new BERNINA Skill Hub from Debbi. After the recorded video lesson, Lynne will follow up with some hands-on learning on your own laptop. Each student will be provided a Software Building Blocks Code Card to be used at home should you wish to rewatch the lesson or in case you missed the in person class. This card will give you online access to the program on the Skill Hub. These educational lessons will make sure you get the most out of your software investment and will advance your personal projects to the next level. Some topics you will see in 2024 include Let’s Play with Lettering, Reverse Applique, Creative Techniques, and three more lessons! You will benefit from having the latest version of Designer Plus V9 for these classes. If you need to upgrade, there are great options for you! Class fee is $149 for the year (six classes). With the new format, individual class sign-ups are no longer available as you can take the class from home as well. See the class schedule for dates, times and topics.
