from your lieutenant governor Hello Division 32, Serving as your Lieutenant Governor for the past three weeks has truly been a dream come true. I still remember looking up to past great Key Club leaders at DCON and Seattle Rally my freshman year and wondering if I’d ever serve on the District Board myself. It’s still so hard for me to believe that I have the opportunity to serve this division and the District on this level; I promise you that I will not take a single second of my term for granted. School is starting soon, and I wish you all the best of luck. The new school year also means Key Club starting up. I can’t wait to attend all of your club meetings and see how much our division grows. Remember to promote Key Club as much as you can as September near. I know that this is a stressful time of year, but remember that I am always here for you. I have no doubt that this division will impress me this year. In the past month, you have already amazed me with your continual spirit and willingness to serve. In addition, I want to commend the Spirit Committee for stepping it up at Seattle Rally— for the first time in 4 years, we have won the spirit stick!!! I’m so proud of all of you, and so proud to be serving the best division in the Pacific Northwest District.
In love and service,
Jenny Feng 4

MEET YOUR DIVISIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER!
Hello! I hope you guys are having a wonderful summer! I'm Kimmy Nguyen and I am excited to be your divisional photographer. I am going to be a Junior at Renton High School. I have had a passion for photography when I was about 10 years old. I remember myself secretly taking my dad's camera to take pictures with my sister. Since then I always wanted to capture happy moments I want to last forever. As I entered high school and joined Key Club I developed a passion for wanting to help others. Putting both of my passions together I think being your divisional photographer will give me a great experience filled with fun memories. I want to captivate all the memorable moments Key Club brings us and be able to share it with you guys. I hope being your divisional photographer I will get the chance to know this wonderful division filled with amazing people better! See you guys soon! With love, Kimmy Nguyen

Meet your Committee C Projects Committee Chair
Hello Division 32! I'm Jessica Lou (pronounced "low") and I am your new Projects Committee chair! I'm also a junior and the Vice President of Kentridge Key Club. I like potato foods, dancing, and and sleeping. Thank you to everyone who has already signed up for Projects Committee, I'm really looking forward to working with you all. That being said, please join the Projects Committee! I want at least one person from every club. You get the opportunity to be more involved in Key Club and make an impact on the world. As committee chair, I hope to lead our committee into making contributions towards our preferred charities: Children's Miracle Network, March of Dimes, and UNICEF. I also hope to end our last year with the Eliminate Project as our district project with a bang! The PNW district's goal is to raise fifty thousand dollars towards the Eliminate Project, so let's save babies! Prepare for lots of division-wide fundraisers and events in your near future. :) Jessica Lou

July DCM Recap
The July Divisional Council Meeting took place on July 25th at Lake Meridian Park in Kent. It was a Joint DCM with our sibling division, 33. There was a BBQ, a waterfight, a miracle minute, ice breakers, and games. Because we raised $34 through our miracle minute, members had the chance to freely soak the LTGs for 34 seconds.

KEY CLUB INTERNATIONA ICON 2014 took place in Anaheim, CA. The PNW Tour included two days at Disneyland and lasted from June 30th—July 6th. Congratulations to PNW’S very own Kevin Zhang for being elected as Key Club International Vice President!
“International Convention was like a dream to me. I was given the opportunity to go to be in Anaheim for a week, surrounded by amazing Key Clubbers, including many Key Clubbers that I looked up to (our district board!!!). When I first heard about ICON being in Anaheim, I was mainly excited about getting to go to Disneyland with Key Clubbers. But after having this ICON experience, I know that it was much more than just riding a bunch of rides with a few cool people. The people, the dances, the spirit battles, everything seemed almost too good to be true. Also, the delegates got the chance to vote for our International Board (#votebowl) as well as vote for amendments to the International Bylaws. As our very own Jenny would say, it was "blood-curdling." It was truly an honor to be a part of deciding our international board and our amendments. This convention made me so proud to be a part of the PNW district, home of the mooses (meese?) and our new International Vice President, Kevin Zhang! All in all, International Convention has helped rekindle my passion for Key Club and inspire me to do as much as I can to help eliminate MNT from the world by the end of 2015. ICON has also given me insight as to how Key Club works on a district and international level. Also, through ICON I learned parts of the Canadian anthem. My only regret was not using the 10% off IHOP coupon that was given out to us while I was there. Anyways, I can't wait until next year's TRICON!”

-Jessica Lou, Vice President of Kentridge Key Club
AL CONVENTION 2014 “International Convention was the most fantabulous experience of my life! It honestly was one of the most surreal weeks of my life. It honestly felt so perfect that I wouldn't be surprised if I woke up one day and none of it was true. The "kool kids klub" (the Key Club district board), who I felt were almost otherworldly and intimidating to talk to, all of a sudden became such close friends to me, and I felt like I actually mattered. It truly showed to me what being a Key Clubber is all about, and what a true leader of Key Club is. The convention itself was also a testament to why Key Club is the biggest service organization in the world. It showed me the huge diversity in the different people who are a part of Key Club everyday. Looking at the ridiculous size of the behemoth that is the CNH District was truly humbling. However, it showed to me how grateful I should be to be part of the most spirited division in all of Key Club. At ICON, I could basically feel the enthusiasm and dedication to Key Club rub off on me. And the workshops actually shown me how I could make a difference. I HIGHLY recommend anyone who can go to ICON, to try and go. It was truly a defining moment in my Key Club career, and it has prepared me to be ready for everything that's going to happen in my upcoming term.”
-Bryan Raganot, Vice President of Kent-Meridian Key Club
ICON 2015 will take place in Indianapolis, Indiana, where Kiwanis was founded! In honor of Kiwanis’s 100th birthday, “TRICON” will also be Kiwanis and Circle K’s International Conventions. Hope to see you there!

A message from your International President
Hello, Key Clubbers! My name is Maria Palazzolo, and I am so thankful to be your 2014-2015 Key Club International President! I was elected at the International Convention in Anaheim, California, about a month ago. It is a privilege to serve you and the rest of our 267,000 members. As Key Clubbers, we have a unique perspective of the world. We, as teenagers, get to make lasting impacts within our communities and throughout the world. I find it absolutely amazing that our organization is made of so many selfless individuals with one mission: to positively change the world. As your International President, one of my main goals is to make Key Club International more accessible to provide more ideas and opportunities to make your club the best it can be. This can be done through: Webinars On topics such as: The $.50 dues increase Grants available to fund club projects, such as the Youth Opportunities Fund {more information here: http://www.keyclub.org/service/fund/yof.aspx} Twitter chats with International Board members Increased interaction through social media We will also be promoting the Eliminate Project, which is the Kiwanis family’s campaign to raise $110 million by the end of 2015 to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus from the face of the planet. It nears its completion at the end of the year, and we need to work tirelessly to meet our goal. I will work with our International Vice President, Kevin Zhang, and our eleven International Trustees to meet these goals to make this year a productive one for our organization. I hope to see all of you at our International Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, next summer! Imagine 2,000 people who are just as focused on helping others as you are. It’s an absolutely amazing time. If you have any questions about Key Club International, International Convention, or would just like to talk to me, feel free to email me! Have a great year, and thank you for all that you do in your homes, schools, and communities! Yours in service, Maria Palazzolo Key Club International President ipmariapalazzolo@gmail.com

A message from your International Trustee
Hey, Pacific-Northwest! My name is Tashrima Hossain, and I’d like to introduce myself as the new International Trustee for your district. It is such an honor to be in your service, primarily by ensuring that your voices are heard at the international level during the upcoming year. I’m excited to join the PNW moose; I’ve already received so much enthusiasm from the Board, I’ve heard many great things about PNW, and I can’t wait to see all the great achievements your district has in store. To let you know a little about myself, I am from Cypress, Texas, which is a suburban area adjacent to the Houston border. In addition to Key Club, I devote much of my time to debate and Student Council— which often leaves with very little time for sleep! As a result, I’m a bit of a grandma, and I like spending much of my free time sleeping, reading, or just hanging out with friends. For those of you who would like to know more about my duties as International Trustee, I have a few basic responsibilities: attending International Board meetings, participating in a maximum of two district visits, and acting as a representative of the international level of Key Club. In addition, Governor Lisa and I completed a Governor-Trustee agreement, which identified the main expectations Lisa has of me, as your district’s Trustee; many of said goals revolve around constant communication and building positive Sister District relations—all of which are means to ensure that I effectively represent your views on the international level. Additionally, I serve with Jenalee Beazley, Rip Livingston, Liz Moore, and Nicole Lema on the Growth and Communications Committee. There, we predominantly focus on fostering a connection between advisors and Kiwanis clubs, making Key Club a school-wide name, creating a “cool factor” for Key Club, empowering local clubs to publicize their work, creating a strategic growth plan for KCI, and creating an annual club census. We already have a very specific set of goals and action steps for the first quarter; I plan to update you all with any progress in that arena. During my term, I will stay committed to the goals I campaigned with, but more than that, I intend to actively serve as a resource for you all. If you have questions about amendments, elections, service, or general Key Club knowledge, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I’m here as a resource, friend, and assistant in any way you may need. Call me, email me, Facebook me— I’m always ready to lend a hand.
