EXECUTIVE SUMMARY ! Curiosity about the future has been a common feeling in human beings from the beginning of existence. They do not only want to know where they come from, but also where they are going. Nowadays, people spend most of their lives at work, so the workplace has become very important, a second home. The purpose of this research project is to approach the uncertain future, placing us in 2030. Through it, we will consider predictions about society, economics and culture among others. In addition, we will approach some of the most futuristic companies of today, analyzing their workplaces. Various experiments, interviews and questionnaires will also be developed, in order to help us gain a better understanding of how the workplace will be in 2030.

The graphic exhibits the prediction of the economy from 1917 to 2107 based on an article of the international journey Technological Forecasting and Social Change. It shows a two century growth wave in five seasons (World Real GDP in million 1990 International Geary-Khamis dollars).! ! A study on the economic impact of the development carried out by the McKinsey Global Institute estimates that the center of gravity of the global economy will shift eastward in the coming years. This has been calculated mathematically calculating the centers of each country's GDP. This center is estimated at about 140 Km changes annually.! ! How everyone will understand each other by 2030 20 years from now, far fewer students will be learning second languages in school. It simply will not be the necessity it is today. As a result of filter insights and findings conducted in the research stages of the project, the team decided to undertake an experiment to better understand the good and bad aspects of isolation. This was carried out by two experiences: videoconference meetings of the group and isolated workplace.

Positive aspects of an isolated workplace
• The work in isolation allowed the group a greater concentration and productivity. In the same amount of time, people were able to make about 30% more work individually.
• Video conferencing between two people were quite simple and saved a lot of time to the group.

The movement of the balance affects every factor of the company such as creativity, employee satisfaction, the concentration, communication and others. If there is a good balance, the company will increase the productivity.

This concept generate from insights of education, as the collaborative learning is the trend of the future, the way in education workplace that people communicate with each others would become so important. And concidering to blended learning style of the future, portable technology device will be an essential tool for every student to gather informations and share ideas to others. As a design student, I always spend lots of time explain my ideas by talking and drawing, which I consider as unefficient and waste of time. In my own experience, the most helpful method to demo a working prototype is laser cutting, which is fast and suitable for multiple materials. Thatâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s how I come out with the idea of portable laser cut device - Laseren.
INDIVIDUALSZUCHI! The little screen on Laseren is for users to check the direction of cutting line.
Concept Detail Laseren is a laser cutting devise which can be operate by human hands, with the development of technology, Laseren can be connected to the portable devise like iPad and loading file which need to be cut. When using Laseren, users can check the drawing and navigation from iPad, then correct the direction. Because Laseren is operate by hand, so it would automatically stop cutting when it is out of the cutting line, and for safety concern, Laseren can only be used on thin materials like paper board or thin wooden board, but it is enough to make out fair quality prototype.
The hook on Laseren is used to fix it on the usersâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; hand.
If Laseren deviates too much from the path it will stop cutting for safety concern.
Upload cutting file to Laseren, then users can come out with a prototype very fast. There are three tracing balls which can trace the length and stable Laseren.

When Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs are applied to silver society, there are obvious rule that can be seen in this graph. First of all, elderly people need to have a positive isolation. In other words, they need more privacy with stable lifestyle. However, only having stability on life can not give them an ideal lifestyle. Back to the Maslow’s needs, the first and second lists ‘self actualization’ and ‘esteem needs’ tend to be the goal for them. However, increasing number of elderly people are still isolated because they could not satisfying the last three needs, ‘social, safety, physiological needs’. I am calling it “ negative isolation. To be specific for the negative isolation, basic aid like insurance or social welfare is physiological needs. This is the basement for the elderly people. Health care is followed by it from the safety needs. Next is social needs on which elderly people need more social activity since they mostly have an opportunity to meet same generation. These three things should be implemented, not to be isolated in a negative way. At the same time, there are two essential needs which should be done to go positive isolation. For the esteem needs, they need to contribute something for society to feel good themselves. Indeed, They have a great amount of knowledge and experience that has a potential to contribute society greatly. Lastly, they still need to have a self-development. Another learning will give them confidence and motivation. On a final note, the most important thing is we should avoid to see them as a elderly people. Like we do not use ‘disabled’ to people. Our society needs to change the cognition about the words ‘elderly’. That is why I would create a new community where they will open the window for the secondary workplace.

Based on our research, we found the isolation will be the one of vital problems in 2030. Why health is very significant in our life? If you are in sick, you will feel uncomfortable to reduce your production , thinking and activity ability, if it gets more serious, the sick people will be isolated from other people, such as an isolation ward or home quarantine. Moreover, the population is still growing and the average work aging becomes older, people are more and more focusing on the health-care. According to the chart one, it shows obviously that people spend more cost in health-care, we are able to understand that people is willing to have some cost to keep their health. From the chart two, it confirms that the life expectancy and the spending are in direct proportion . In workplace, health is one of the vital issue in 2030. Workers need to have a good health to keep their production and creativity. Good health comes from the proper nutrition, regular exercise, health care and hygiene. One of the most important keys is to identify the mental health is an individual's happiness. Hence, the stress management is an apparent factor in remaining healthy. RELAXING WORKPLACE! Problem statement! ! The effective stress always is an significant factors for our health. Good stress will have a good effect in our body, however, it is very important to study how to reduce extra stress and balance it in the workplace. Work related stress develops because someone cannot deal with the highly demands that company offers to them. " Having a highly demanding job, but little control over it, could be a deadly combination (James Gallagher, BBC News, 09.2012)“. Stress is able to be a significant cause of illness and has a closed related with high levels of sickness. Stress keeps people feel worry, anxiety, unhappiness, questionable about the future and worry about their works, family issues or health problems. The stress might cause some health problems, such as Insomnia, Eating disorders or Anxiety and panic attacks and so on. Especially for heart disease and melancholia, it becomes a common disease in our life. "The biggest condition that I work with is depression, and it is often related to work stressors.“ (Dr. Bryan Bruno, 2012) These are some reasons will cause extra stress: - Long hours: - Heavy workload - Tight deadlines - Job insecurity - Lack of autonomy - Boring work Although some companies set up some spaces or equipment, such as gym, coffee shop, or canteen, to let employees to do some relaxing activities, but result of heavy workload and always working for a long time in one place, employees do not have enough time to move and use these “relaxing" equipment . In brief, we can comprehend that reducing extra working stress is one of the methods to decrease the rate of some illness.

I am going to design this project by furniture or products and focusing on relax the work stress that they can do or feel relaxing way easier. Object 1: They can do and share the relaxing event with friend and colleagues . Object 2: Reducing stress by simple design. Object 3: Flexible workspace that employees can change their mood quickly. Object 4: Utilsing employee's interesting to be the relaxing way.
Identifying Customer needs! In our group research, we use the questionnaire , scenarios and user experience to understand and identify people's need and feeling. And I also find that on-line survey can let people have more comments and gain more strong certification to our study. In my individual project, I will also investigate and record different workplaces, and have an interview with various countries employees to find out what they needs and how they relax their stress.

Selecting Design Concept! At first, when we were doing the team research, we started at exist company to be our case study, I found that many companies will focus on how to develop a relaxing environment to their employees, such as NIKE, they are focus on employees' life balance, so they want to built a casual organization and workplace. However, because NIKE is one of big sporting product company, employees have a long time work and high level of stress is common situation and might cause isolation being happened. Therefore, in secondary research I decide to do the research about Health. And we also do the user experience for the online conference an d isolative work, we found some problems and advantages between these two experience. On the other hand, the isolation should be balanced, to be a human, we yearn for various situations to satisfy every stage- we need not only sociality, but also privacy. It is the same meaning to work stress, actually, adaptive stress is good for our health and work motive, moreover, If you have a good health, you can arrange your mood well and have a good management to balance isolation. I had worked for a long time before, I am able to understand when the extra stress is coming, it is arduous to do anything and to affect your health. How to reduce the stress in working time is very important.

The design objective is to design experience, interaction and communication through gamification, animation and interface to educate workers and increase creativity, interaction and a sense of belonging at workplace and also to keep workers occupied and in a good mood.! ! This will be done by designing a device that projects work space which could be redesigned, resized or managed by worker to suit their mood, inspiration, Isolation or type of work. This technology could be improved to a work space where workers are given a liquid device as their workspace and whenever or wherever they want to work, liquid device could be projected as a work space.! !
