LAYOUT OF THE PRESENTATION 1. ASSYCE GROUP 2. INTRODUCTION TO THE WORLD ENERGY PROBLEM 3. CONTRIBUTION OF FOTOVOLTAIC ENERGY 4. APPLICATION TO CARIBBEAN PROBLEM

Depending of the energy politics of the different countries, there are variations in the relationship between the GDP and the Power Consumtion per capita. Wordlwide there is a fix relationship between the economical growth ant the increase in energy consumption. Given that the capiltalist economy must grow at least 2% yearly: The world must to consume always more energy.

•

EFFICIENT COUNTRIES vs NON EFFICIENT COUNTRIES

 ECONOMY NEED TO INCREASE GDP, ENERGY CONSUMPTION IS DEPENDENT OF GDP

Today, the largest amount of energy consumption based on petrol. It is not planed any worldwide big change in this trend for the next years

- 5% yearly in the last 30 years - 15% yearly in the last 10 years

BRENT 2012.03.29: 122 $ PER BARREL …. BUT THE WORLD IS NOT YET OUT OF THE ECONOMICAL CRISIS !!!

Petrol prices has changed from a base of 25 $ during the years between 1980 and 2000 to a base of 80-100 $ for the next years.

HOW CAN STABILISE THE PRICE OF OIL?

In 1956 Dr. Hubert has predicted the 1970 peak oil of US

October 5th, 1903 -- October 11th, 1989

"Our ignorance is not so vast as our failure to use what we know."

In 1971 Dr. Huber has predicted the world oil peak for year 2000. SOME CHANGES ON THE CONSUMPTION IN 1979 HAS DELAYED TO ‌ ?

ď ś World has a total necessity of 15 TW of power ď ś The marked areas can produce about 18 TW of solar power

FROM A TECHNOLOGICAL POINT OF VIEW?

多?

BUT PRICE IS THE KEY

 DURING THE LAST 2 YEARS, IN SOME PLACES PV PRESENTS A NEAR COMPETITIVITY POSITION AGAINS WIND

HERE IS OUR MODEL T?!!

 DEPENDING OF PETROL GENERATORS  4 TIMES HIGHER ELECTRICAL COST AS IN USA OR EU  + 40 $C for kWh  EXTREMELY DEPENDENT AND SENSIBLE TO CHANGES OIL PRICES  SHORT PAY-BACK OF ANY ENERGY SOLUTION

 NUCLEAR ENERGY??  PLANTS OF COAL?  Do you have own coal?  Is it good for the tourism sector?  Do you have infrastructures to support DECENTRALISED DEVELOPMENT?  GAS  Very good for power, dangerous for energy  RENEWABLE ENERGY: Local labor for local energy  IMPLEMENTING NEW CONCEPTS  DEVELOPING OWN CONCEPTS

 HIGH IRRADIATION PLACES  HIGH AIR CONDITIONING CONSUPMTION  QUIK INSTALLATION (50 MW IN 6 MONTHS)  FIX COST OF ENERGY FOR THE NEXT 20 YEARS  INDEPENDENCE OF OIL AND ENERGY PRICES  HELP TO STABILISE GRIDS AND DESENTRALICED GENERATION IF NEEDED  VERY LOW ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

 HIGH WIND LOADS  HIGH SEA CORROSION  NECESSITY TO STABILITY FOR THE GRIDS  AFTER 40 % OF ENERGY SUPPLY, ACCUMULATION WILL BE NEEDED  MONITORING AND CONTROL OF THE POWER PLANTS AND GRIDS

 IF YOU WANT TO INCREASE YOUR GDP YOU WILL NEED INCREASE YOUR ECONOMICAL CONSUMPTION  THE ONLY WAY TO DO IT IS SAFELY IS TO REDUCE YOUR DEPENDENCIY ON FOSIL FUELS  TO REDUCE YOUR DEPENDENCY ON FOSIL FUELS, THE BEST WAY IS TO USE RENEWABLE ENERGY
