Expo for general public

Conference and Expo concerning durable energy end of March in WTC Willemstad –Further to the recently introduced policy on the area of durable energy, the government of Curaçao in collaboration with Bureau Telecommunicatie Post en Utiliteiten will be organizing an international conference titled: “The 2012 Conference/Expo on the future of Durable Energy – Involvement, Implementation, Innovation” in the World Trade Center from Thursday 29 th till Saturday 31st of March 2012. Entrance for the conference will be 300 US dollars; entrance for the exposition is free, and the latter is focused on the general public. Conference During the conference a wide variety of international and local speakers will elaborate further into the importance of durable energy on Curaçao. Also best practices of other countries will be discussed. The instruction language at the conference is English. For the contribution of 300 US dollars a participant will receive entrance to the conference including lunch served and all other social activities and network possibilities. Every day the program starts at 9:00 hours and ends at 16:00 hours on the first two days. On the last day the program ends at 14:00 hours. Speakers International speakers among others:  Per Lund Ph. D., Chief Engineer at Energinet.dk from Denmark, (about ‘best practices’ on the island of Bornholm, where there already can be spoken of high penetration of durable energy)  Ricardo Ramírez Carreo M.Sc., Technical Secretary of Consejo Nacional de Operación de Gas Natural, from Colombia, (about natural gas/LNG as an alternative for crude oil)  Prof. dr. David M.J. Smeulders (about various aspects of durable energy)  Luis Garrido, Joint Managing Director van de Assyce Group (about the use of solar panels on large scale)  Michael Garvin, President van Renais LLC (durable economy) Some local speakers will also share their view with the public, like Prime Minister Gerrit Schotte, responsible for the energy sector, ing. Joao de Canha, director of the regulator of the energy sector

Bureau Telecommunicatie Post & Utiliteiten and the director of water and electricity producer Aqualectra, Darick Jonis, Msc. MBA together with various experts will be elaborating on the developments in the durable energy sector on Curaçao, the new local policy, regulations and procedures, and not to forget the possibilities to save energy on the area of electricity usage. Exhibition In addition to the conference there will also be an exhibition of products and services on the area of durable energy which are being offered on the local market as well as in the region. The exhibition focuses on general public and entrance is free. The entire population of Curaçao is being cordially invited to come take a look at the exhibition and to gather information concerning the use solar energy and wind energy on Curaçao. Companies like Curapex, Ecovision, EcoEnergy, Schnog Imports, Dutch Durables, Dynaff Caribbean and Coral Solar and different other companies will be present as exhibitors. There is also an interesting surprise. The exhibition in the World Trade Center will be opened on the 29th of March 2012, the first conference day, and is accessible for public from 16:00 – 20:00 hours on Thursday and Friday, and from 14:00 – 17:00 hours on Saturday. There will also be a variety of speeches concerning this topic, which are important for the future of Curaçao.
