How is it possible that my garden (Yes that poor little thing is my garden) looks like a lawn? All I did was pick the Tomatoes last fall and pull the plants. It would seem that the grass took that as an invitation to move in. I mean really come on. What does a guy need to do to prevent this from happening.

From This……….to……..This in 5 Months??? Now that it is time to plant, I’m stuck dealing with this. It certainly takes the fun out of spring. I can assure you it looked much better under snow.
The Art of Sumi Painting June 11 & 12 - 10am-4pm Instructor: Yuming Zhu $199 per person, two for $385
In the years since our daughter Jordan left (first for WSU then on to Williston, ND), we have scaled back the garden to just this small patch for tomatoes. Mom spoiled us kids by always canning. Our son, Gerik, and I love our jars of tomatoes. I’ll have to see how much that LOVE will motivate me to quite whining and start weeding.
More information and online registration
So now I have a date with my new “lawn”. I wish growing tomatoes was as easy as growing weeds!

Corrie’s Craft of the Month I hate gardening -There, I said it.
But my mom loves it. She enjoys the whole process, but unfortunately, was not able to pass that love on to me. I did enjoy making these markers though and they were super easy. Good thing it's Mothers Day this month! Supplies you'll need: Sculpey clay Rolling pin Rubber letter stamps Butter knife Oven 1. Sculpey clay comes divided into fourths, which is the perfect size for one marker. Start by rolling it into a ball and then into a snake, roughly 5" long. 2. Take your rolling pin and flatten your snake till it's about 1/4" thick. 3. Using the smooth side of your butter knife make a diagonal cut on one side to make it into a point. Using your fingers just smooth out any imperfections. 4. Take your rubber stamp and stamp away. 5. Put in oven and cook according to package instructions. Let them cool completely before moving them. Hope you enjoy these whether you like to garden or not! You can reach Corrie at Corrie@Jerrols.com
