Jim Huckabay, professor emeritus at the CWU Geography department, Author of Wild Winds and weekly columnist for the Daily Record refers to our county as Paradise. His column often refers to “Life in Paradise”. This time of year it’s hard to find anyone that would argue against that statement. Our family has been taking advantage of the perfect temperatures and lack of wind that comes with fall in Paradise to get out on the water. Our son, Gerik, loves to go Kayaking. In the picture above, he had just pushed his mom’s boat away from us. He thought it was pretty funny! I encourage you to take the time to get outside, breath in the crisp fall air, look at all the colors and go kick a pile of leaves. It doesn’t last long enough, but it doesn’t get much better than right now. You might consider a trip out to the Huffman Pumpkin Farm. Boss’ Day is Monday, October 17th We’ll Pay Your Sales Tax! On Monday & Tuesday Oct 17th & 18th We have a saying here at Jerrol’s: “Our customer is the boss.” Our paychecks even say “Courtesy of your boss, the customer.” Since Monday, October 17th is Boss’ day, we will celebrate by picking up your sales tax all day Monday the 17th and Tuesday the 18th. It is just our way of saying “Thanks, we think you are GREAT!!” All you have to do is mention Boss in the comment field of your online order or mention it when you email, fax or call in your order on Monday or Tuesday, October 17th & 18th. Our corporate vision statement adopted in the 1990’s reads as follows:

And she can do it simply by spending her money somewhere else.

As a kid, I loved carving pumpkins and especially eating roasted pumpkin seeds. As an adult, I tend to skip the carving (and the mess) and go straight to no-carving pumpkin ideas. This one is amazingly easy and fun. All you need is: Balloons Scissors Mini Pumpkins 1. Take your scissors and cut off the neck of your balloon. 2. Pull the balloon over the bottom of your pumpkin. Adjust the balloon to get the look you want. You can cover the whole pumpkin or only part of it to make the "dipped" look. There you have it. A fun centerpiece and no mess.
