Labor Day Weekend Hours
Our daughter, Jordan, returned home from the oil fields of Williston, North Dakota, where she lives with her husband, Israel. We haven’t seen her since Thanksgiving of last year. It turns out Williston is a hard place to get to. By car, it is 17 hours. By plane, you get to drive 2 hours to Minot, fly to Denver or Minneapolis and then on to Seattle. Jordan choose a new route this time. She drove an hour to Sidney, MT and then took an 8 seat plane to Billings— where the guy behind her got sick twice from the turbulence—and then on to Seattle. No wonder it has been eight months. She works in a chiropractors office, where she has started their own newsletter The Spinal Column. Pretty clever. Israel works at a natural gas plant in the oil fields.

Their goal is to eventually return to Washington; perhaps the Spokane area and either start or buy a business Right now, they are looking at bars in the area. Diana at US Bank bet me a Jordan taking time out from making package of Top Ramen that stir-fry for a picture so I could prove to you she came home. Jordan was coming home to tell us she was pregnant. Turns our Diana owes me that package!! Which is good, I don’t think Michelle and I are ready to be grandparents. Weird just to type it. We are lucky that she will be able to return next month to go on our family vacation to the beach at Moclips, WA were we will celebrate her brothers 20th birthday. Oh, how the time flies. -Rolf P.S. Sherman was kind enough to sign a stack of his books for you. This is a very special opportunity to pick up a book signed be a world class author who lives in Seattle. He signed copies of Thunder Boy Jr, a children's picture book, and The Absolute True Diary of a Parttime Indian. The signed copies are both still available as of the writing of this newsletter. It is a play script based on an original story by J.K. Rowling. The play will received its world premiere in London’s West End on July 30, 2016. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. Corrie’s Craft of the Month Photo Art Supplies: A Canvas A Photo (printed on copy paper) Scissors Glue (anything that dries clear) 1. Cut a circle out of your photo 2. Cut a smaller circle out of the circle. Repeat as many times as you want. 3. Glue your photo to your canvas. Then glue the circles in the photo slightly off from the original picture. 4. Have fun!
