Our Core Values
1. Help If we help enough people get what they want, we will get what we want. –Zig Ziglar The people we help are our Clients, Team, Community and Vendors. We help by listening and by being present during our interactions.
Each year, the students in the top 10% of Kittitas, Ellensburg, and Thorp Highs Schools are recognized by their community at the Lower Kittitas County Top 10% Scholars Luncheon. This event was started back in the 1970’s by Aileen Barker and company for the Ellensburg scholars. Jerrol’s became involved a few years later when Dad jumped in to help with planning the event.
It has evolved over the years to recognize scholars from all lower valley High Schools. Each scholar is sponsored by a community member who pays for their lunch, personally invites them to the event and arranges transportation to and from. During the luncheon, their sponsors take a few moments to talk to their scholar and note their achievements and future plans. Then the sponsors make a two minute or so introduction about the scholar to the rest of the attendees. It is one of the most inspiring events I get to attend each year. Howard Lyman, The Mad Cowboy (www.MadCowboy.com), has given the keynote presentation recently with a message of stewardship and sustainability of our planet, and will do so again this year. At the end of the luncheon, every scholar is awarded a personalized dictionary donated by Jerrol’s. By my calculations we have awarded more than 750 dictionaries. We will include a list of all the scholars next month. -Rolf P.S. You can contact me any time at 509 925-9851 or 800 858-2427, my cell 509 899-0120, or email Rolf@Jerrols.com
The Designer Returns
Hi, We Are Taylor and Bailey!
Taylor and Bailey Our New Team Members! Seanette Corkill is the person responsible for designing the look and colors of the Winegar’s addition. She also selected the outside lighting for the building. She hadn’t seen it in person until last month when she was in town for the RevitalizeWA 2017 conference. Seanette is the owner of FrontdoorBack based in Vancouver, Washington. Her expertise is in Store Design and Visual Merchandising . I met her in 2013 when she was in Ellensburg at an event hosted by the Downtown Association. She did several one on one consultations as part of her presentation and we were lucky enough to have one here at Jerrol’s. It didn’t take long to realize she was truly a retail expert. We immediately started discussion on how she could help with our expansion. She took the box Kori Winegar and I designed, and added all the dimensional pieces and colors that define the building today. It was her idea to create the yellow Jerrol’s in 3D plastic for the signs and to light them from underneath. In other words, she took what would have been a big box and made it into a super cool attention getting building. We were very fortunate to have her work on the project and it was great to show it to her in person. It also brought up a lot of memories of where we were and how far we have come in reorganizing the inside of the store. There is still so much to do. You can reach Seanette at (360) 281-3853 or Seanette@FrontdoorBack.com.
We are new team members here at Jerrol’s and are super excited to have the opportunity to join the team! Bailey has lived in Ellensburg her whole life. She enjoys painting and playing the piano in her spare time. This June, Bailey will be graduating from Ellensburg High School and attending Central Washington University in the fall. At Central she is interested in studying education and art. A couple of years back, Taylor moved to Ellensburg to attend CWU, where she is studying elementary education. Following her graduation in 2019, she plans to teach in a third grade classroom. Here in Ellensburg, she enjoys hiking the Umptanum Falls trail and hammocking in her spare time. We both have been shopping at Jerrol’s for many years and we are excited to get to be a part of creating this fun atmosphere. If you have been looking for Emily Malinowski she left us last month to pursue a career in nursing. We wish her the best as she begins her education. _______________________________

A big "thank you" to my fellow co-worker, Crystal, for making these cute framed greeting cards. I think they'd make a perfect Mother's Day gift. Here's what you need: •A greeting card (There quite a few in this particular line of cards at Jerrol's) •Some pretty paper (wrapping paper works great) •A frame •Glue •Washi tape (optional) 1. Cut your paper to fit into your frame. 2. Glue your greeting card onto paper. 3. Decorate with Washi Tape. (Or not) 4. Put it in frame. Super simple and fun. Even dad's can make this one. A Few Comments From Our Clients “A clerk immediately came over and asked if they could help us - I was going to try and order a book my husband found in a medical magazine - she said Yes, I'm sure we can get it. Within less than ten minutes she had it ordered and I was writing a check for it. She said it will be here tomorrow - the next day be had a call around noon and it was in.”
