Jim Huckabay, professor emeritus at the CWU Geography department, Author of Wild Winds and weekly columnist for the Daily Record refers to our county as Paradise. His column often refers to “Life in Paradise”. This time of year it’s hard to find anyone that would argue against that statement.

Our family has been taking advantage of the perfect temperatures and lack of wind that comes with fall in Paradise to get out on the water. Our son, Gerik, loves to go Kayaking. In the picture above, he had just pushed his mom’s boat away from us. He thought it was pretty funny! I encourage you to take the time to get outside, breath in the crisp fall air, look at all the colors and go kick a pile of leaves. It doesn’t last long enough, but it doesn’t get much better than right now. You might even consider a trip out to the Huffman Pumpkin Farm. They have a ton of things to do and it is a great way to spend a day. You’ll find them online at www.HuffmanFarms.com. -Rolf P.S. Letterman Jackets
Since Monday, October 17th is bosses day, we celebrate by picking up your sales tax. It is just our way of saying Thanks, we think you are GREAT!! All you have to do is ask for us to pay your tax! Our corporate vision statement adopted in the 1990’s reads as follows-
WHO’S THE BOSS? There is only one boss, and whether a person shines shoes for a living or heads up the biggest corporation in the world, the boss remains the same. IT’S THE CLIENT. She is the person who pays everyone’s salary and who decides whether a business is going to succeed or fail. And she doesn’t care if a business has been around for 100 years. The minute it starts treating her badly or taking her for granted, she’ll put it out of business. The boss, THE CLIENT, has bought and will buy everything you have or will have. She’s bought all of your clothes, your home, your car, pays for your children’s education and your vacations. She pays all of your bills, and she pays in exact proportion to the way you treat her. The man who works inside a big office building or plant might think he works for the company that writes his paychecks, but he doesn’t. Natasha trying on her new custom jacket Fall is a busy season for Letterman Jackets! We love to help you design a jacket that is 100% customized to fit your personal style. You start by meeting with Krissy who will walk you through every aspect right down to the stitching! You can even create custom patches and mascots if you’re feeling extra creative. Jacket’s start at just $450 and, if ordered before October 15th, we guarantee delivery by Christmas or we’ll pay HALF the cost of your jacket.
He is working for the person who buys the product at the end of the line. In fact, THE CLIENT can fire everybody in the company from the president on down. And she can do it simply by spending her money somewhere else. Some of the largest companies that had flourishing businesses a few years are no longer in existence. They couldn’t or didn’t satisfy THE CLIENT. They forgot who the boss really is. -Earl Nightingale

As a kid, I loved carving pumpkins and especially eating roasted pumpkin seeds. As an adult, I tend to skip the carving (and the mess) and go straight to no-carving pumpkin ideas. This one is amazingly easy and fun. All you need is: Balloons Scissors Mini Pumpkins
www.KCCustomerService.com
Follow Nominations on the Facebook Page at-
Kittitas County Customer Service We need you to post stories about great service you receive here in Kittitas County and beyond. Every May, there will be the Best in Customer Service Award Banquet, where the best of the monthly Customer Service Champions from the past year will be recognized and the posts from the past year will be made into a book.
1. Take your scissors and cut off the neck of your balloon. 2. Pull the balloon over the bottom of your pumpkin. Adjust the balloon to get the look you want. You can cover the whole pumpkin or only part of it to make the "dipped" look. There you have it. A fun centerpiece and no mess. Grab some store-bought pumpkin seeds and enjoy! -Corrie Ihrke You can reach Corrie at Corrie@Jerrols.com
