Skiing Mom found some photos she and Dad had of our daughter, Jordan, skiing at Big Mountain, Montana when she was 2 years and 8 months old. It is hard to believe that little girl is now 25 and married in far off Williston, North Dakota. She stills skis and will be joining her brother Gerik; Mom, Michelle; her grandma, Annette; my sister, Elizabeth’s family; our college friend, Mike Wedekind’s family (his brother Jeff and Angie live here in Ellensburg); and me for a week of skiing back at Big Mountain. Jordan will be bringing her husband, Israel, for his first time on skis.
Jordan getting ready to hit the slopes at 2 year 8 months.
Gerik will be taking his first formal ski lessons this year through their adaptive ski program. That should be very interesting. We checked it out last year and were very impressed with how the volunteers worked with participants with various abilities. Skiing is something that my parents did in high school and continued with us as kids. We always took ski vacations with extended family. If I remember correctly it was the only thing I could get away with skipping school for. Michelle and I were giving Jordan advice on how to help Israel learn to ski. Michelle pointed out that her first experience was me trying to give her a lesson on a hill she considered way too steep. She remembers sliding most of the way down just to get off the hill. Apparently after she recovered, professional lessons were purchased and went much better. Not sure that is how I remember it, but what are you going to do? I think Jordan has decided that a professional lesson would be the way to go. Seems like taking the easy way out to me. -Rolf P.S. Our Core Values The last few months there have been comments made by a very small minority of our clients to our team which would lead us to think they disagree to our belief in Diversity, Respect and Equality. Frankly, there seems to be a shift for the worse when it comes to embracing diversity in our nation at the moment. We as a Team want to make it clear that is not acceptable. Not in our business; not in our community; not in our nation. We understand that may not be a popular view with some. We respectively encourage anyone that is concerned about our deep seated belief of embracing everyone regardless of age, race, sexual orientation and gender to consider shopping elsewhere.

With Valentine's Day right around the corner why not give something that will last!! This cool hexagon shelf is perfect for displaying a picture of you and your valentine, a candle, or even a cute little plant. (I am terrible with plants and they all seem to die in my presence. So now, this plastic succulent can be displayed all year round) All you need is: Popsicle sticks (I used 102 of the small ones) Tacky glue Template (optional) you can get one in the store! 1. Using 3 popsicle sticks, start by laying down 3 sides of your hexagon. (Every other of the 6 sides) Put a drop of glue on each end of the 3 popsicle sticks. Take 3 more popsicle sticks and overlap them on top of the first 3 popsicle sticks. (Completing all 6 sides of your hexagon) 2. Continue adding drops of glue and popsicles sticks until you've reached the desired height for your shelf. Mine is 16 popsicle sticks high. 3. Let it dry overnight. Optional: You might want to paint or stain your shelf. I decided not to because I liked the variety of shades from the popsicle sticks. Hope you have fun making this and a wonderful Valentine's Day! -Corrie Ihrke You can reach Corrie at Corrie@Jerrols.com

A Few Comments From Our Clients “I like the unique gift items available; I purchased a 4 piece glassware drink (bar) set. Nice not to have to order online or go out of town for unique items.”
-Kelly Zakel-Larson - Rewards Member “It was my first time into the store and immediately I was greeted and helped by staff to find just what I was looking for. I loved the quality products the store carries and the fact that I didn't have to go online to order them. As a scenic design student at CWU I will definitely be shopping at Jerrol's for the rest of my artistic supply needs.”
-Brittney Case - Rewards Member “A great place for books, gifts, CWU apparel, office and art supplies. Big inventory and friendly staff. The attached coffee and ice cream shop is a nice bonus.”
