One of my favorite activities is to go snowmobiling with my son Gerik. We have been riding throughout this winter in even in the low snow conditions, often bouncing over more rocks and dirt than snow. We get lots of strange looks riding double especially since Gerik is now bigger than I am!! He loves the adventures we get into and never complains when I get us stuck and he has to wait while I dig us out. He does get impatient waiting for dad to get everything ready to go. Often Michelle comes with us and hangs out at a fire reading while we go play.
My son Gerik waiting for me to go for a ride between Cooke and Coleman Canyon’s north of Ellensburg. Photo taken Sunday February 23rd.
Some might think taking a kid who is non-verbal and has autism riding to be risky or even impossible. I find it empowering for Gerik to have a chance to go play in the snow and feel the speed and thrill of plowing through the snow. Life is a risk, people die sitting on their couches.

An Abundance of Katherines $9.99 John Green
Have you ever felt like a failure, a fraud, or a phony? Colin is one of the most brilliant minds of his generation but fear he will never accomplish his singular goal in life, to matter, to leave an indelible mark on the world. His secondary goal is to marry and be loved by a woman named Katherine, with a “K”, not a “C”, and definitely not a Kat. K-A-T-H-E-R-I-N-E. Unfortunately for Colin he just got dumped by Katherine XIX. Hassan, Colin’s best friend comes up with a classic solution – road trip. Thus begins the unlikely journey of a prodigy and his pal from the streets of Chicago to the wilds of Tennessee. Passing a sign declaring the final resting place of Archduke Franz Ferdinand the pair decide to stop and take a look at this most unlikely site. There they meet inimitable Lindsey Lee Wells and their adventure truly begins. What follows is a tale of love, community, hog hunting and just what it means to truly know thyself. Legend $9.99 Marie Lu Imagine taking test at age 10 that would decide the rest of your life. Who among us could reliably perform under those conditions? But that is what Day and June both had to do. Every year all the 10 year olds in the Republic are rounded up for their Trial. June gets the first perfect score in
Trial history and is sent to the most prestigious school in the Republic. Day fails and is sent to a labor camp, which is the Republics way of handling undesirables. And by labor camp I mean medical research facility to act as a lab rat. Flash forward 5 years and Day is labeled a terrorist by the people who experimented on him and left him for dead. June is labeled a troublemaker for not following orders despite being a brilliant student. Day gives the food and medicine he steals from the Republic to the needy. June is taught the poor are a blight and a strain on the Republic. These ideologies clash as Day races to save his family from plague and June is tasked with stopping him. Once while out riding, we got to walk over 5 miles after I misjudged the gas situation a little. He is one tough guy and just put one foot in front the of other until we got back to the truck. Michelle wasn’t too happy to hear about that story but now it has become a family legend. -Rolf P.S. Jerrol’s Plans a Building Expansion and Facelift
We have officially announced our plan to join forces with Winegars Homemade Ice Cream & Coffee to offer coffee, ice cream and light food at our current location on University Way. The goal is to add 5000 sq feet to the west side of the store with Winegars leasing the front half. Clients will be able to walk between the two stores, but each will be able to operate independently when the other is closed. The remaining space in the addition will be used for a 1000 sq foot conference room available for parties and meetings and our receiving area will move from it current location to the back of the new space.
they opened Winegars Drive In Dairy that included a bottling plant and retail sales. I can remember the smell and sound of the glass bottles when mom would take me to get our milk. They had a small freezer with ice cream treats. Funny I would remember that!!!! Gary Winegar, Truman’s son took over the operation. Gary’s daughter Richelle came back to the business in 1992 and added the homemade ice cream. In 1994 Richelle’s brother Kori joined the business bringing espresso. Last year Winegars was recognized as having the Best Ice Cream in the Northwest by King 5 TV’s Evening Edition. Corrie’s Craft of The Month
Rubber Band Loom Crafts It is all the craze with the young ones, almost like the Beatles in days gone by.
The building will feature two covered drive through windows and some new parking spaces on the west side. There will also be outside seating. The design reflects Jerrols history of a 1950’s dinner and drive through. We hope to have a grand opening in August, but we are learning that commercial construction can be a slow process!! This is such a great fit with both Jerrol’s and Winegars sharing similar business histories starting just one year apart and both changing to meet our clients needs.. The Winegars story began in 1948 as a

The Jerrol’s Journal March 2014 A Few Comments From Our Clients My printer ran out of ink, and I was so thankful the store was open that late at night, and that they carry the ink I need. The staff was also extremely helpful and friendly during my visit. I'll always go back there for ink and many other needs. :) Whitney Franks I love your store! I moved from the "West side" last Summer and find many comparable (or better) items in your store. Keep up the good work....a fan forever :) Sandra Sandeno Everyone was so nice and helpful. I had no problems there. I never do! Thank you for having such wonderful customer service! Christina Kirkham
It's cheaper than the C-Store, the staff is friendly, and things are relatively easy to find. It also has this very settling, friendly feel. Like a place that feels familiar. Maybe since chances are, my parents bought stuff there when they went to college. Gabe Benson - Google Review
