Jordan Got a JOB!! After all my ranting a raving last month about my daughter moving to North Dakota and getting engaged before having a job - she actually got one as a reporter at the Williston North Dakota Herald whose tag line is “Talkin the Bakken” of all things. Her first article for them appeared on the front page. You can find it online by Googling Jordan Williams Williston Herald. Here is the proof-

By the time you are reading this newsletter we will finally be under construction for our new addition. It has taken over a year and a half to get this far. Actually, when I look back on it, we started working toward this back in 1990 when Dad and I arranged to purchase “The Apartments” which was located in the now empty lot to the west of Jerrol’s where the addition will be built. We operated the apartment building long enough to pay it off, then had the building removed.

The start of our current expansion started in the 90’s when we purchased and demolished “The Apartments”

In 2008, we made our first attempt at enlarging the store. That process went very badly and, after investing in the plans and having asked repeatedly about fire suppression, it was determined that a sprinkler system would have to be installed in the original building on two different levels as we have a sizable attic and in the new building. This made the project economically unviable.

So what appears to be couple years in the making is actually a goal that was created almost 3 decades ago. At that time we had no idea how it would all come together. We just knew that we would make it happen. As with most major accomplishments, the path was not straight. It took lots of zigs and zags. We did not know how, just that it would be. All it took was a lot of what I like to call “Pig Headed Discipline and Determination”.

-Rolf So I guess I should be prepared for a wedding……..

Up Coming Authors Events Monday, October 6th 6 - 7:30pm WENDELIN VAN DRAANEN MARK HUNTLEY PARSONS Wendelin Van Draanen is the author of the Sammy Keyes series, the Shrederman books and the novels Flipped and Swear to Howdy. She and her husband Mark Huntley Parsons will be in Ellensburg promoting the last book in the Sammy Keyes series, Kiss Goodbye and Mark’s first book Road Rash. Both books are geared toward middle schoolers. They have agreed to host an assembly at Morgan as well. Ronald Slater, author of Whistleblower, currently lives with his wife Edna in Cle Elum, where he is retired and training everyday to ward off old age and keep cancer from re-appearing.

Kiss Goodbye WENDELIN VAN DRAANEN The final mystery starring Sammy Keyes. Sammy doesn't go looking for trouble, but she has always stayed one step ahead until now. Last night, one of the bad guys followed Sammy up the fire escape and pushed her from the third story. Now she's in the hospital, out cold and her friends are left with the questions Sammy's always been so good at answering.

Road Rash MARK HUNTLEY PARSONS A teenage drummer finds out what life is really like on tour with a rock band in this funny and bittersweet YA novel. For anyone who loved Almost Famous or This Is Spinal Tap. After being dropped from one band, sixteen-year-old drummer Zach gets a chance to go on tour with a much better band. It feels like sweet redemption, but

this is one rocky road trip—filled with jealousy, rivalries, and on-stage meltdowns. Mark Parsons has written a fast-paced, feel-good novel about a boy finding his place in the world, in a band, and in the music. Zach is a character teens will stand up and cheer for as he lands the perfect gig and the perfect girl. _________________________________
