Transplant Support Group www.bumc.net/TSG Tuesday, April 12, 7 – 8 pm, Room A390 The Transplant Support Group exists to provide emotional and spiritual support, counseling and encouragement for all individuals impacted by transplantation. Group members have access to educational resources and connections with experienced individuals through facilitated forums, small groups and one-on-one discussion. Housing Initiative 2016 www.bumc.net/Housing We will be building 2 homes in 2016 in Franklin, TN, and Columbia, TN, as well as refurbishing a school in Jacmel, Haiti. Stop by the table in the Narthex for more information. Donations We have raised $21,000 toward our goal of $50,000. Give to the Housing Initiative with envelopes found in the pew racks, text BUMCHousing to 28950 with a dollar amount, (ex. BUMCHousing 50), or visit www.bumc.net/MyAccess. Volunteers Our first build is with Habitat for Humanity and the Aguto family in Franklin. We need 25 volunteers for each of the following dates: April 16, May 7 (women only), and May 21.

2016 Mission Trips www.bumc.net/MissionsTrips Both trips are open to ages 14+. Those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Tlancualpican, Mexico September 9 - 18 This mission trip is designed to immerse participants in the reality of life in rural Mexico as it relates to the issues of hunger, poverty, development and global awareness through education and hands-on service of various forms. Jacmel, Haiti October 6 - 11 Join our Haiti VBS and Construction team in partnership with Restore Haiti! We will refurbish a local school while experiencing the culture and community that Restore Haiti serves.


Weekly Announcements Registration Open for Kids Summer Events 4Life Series

Sundays, April 10 – May 1, 11:05 am, Room A292 4Life is a 4-week series of classes designed to help you grow as a disciple of Jesus Christ and explore the basics of Christianity and the Wesleyan faith. New members are especially encouraged to attend to learn about our values and beliefs as United Methodists, but all are invited to learn about the foundations of a life lived for Christ. Nashville Flute Choir Concert Sunday, April 10, 4 pm, Chapel The Nashville Flute Choir, conducted by BUMC member Karen Mitchell, presents “A Celtic Offering.” This concert features a variety of music from Ireland and Wales, including lively jigs by the Irish Step Dancers. Come for an enjoyable afternoon of celebrating the wonderful musical heritage of Ireland and Wales.

Seeing the Face of God

A short-term study on race and faith Wednesdays thru April 20, 6:15 – 7:30 pm, Rm A292 A community conversation on race in the life of the church. Greeters Needed for Children’s Sunday School

We are looking for warm and friendly faces to greet visiting families and help them get acclimated with the Children’s area on Sunday mornings during the Sunday School hour. It is a once a month commitment and training is provided. Contact Megan at mteegarden@ bumc.net.

BUMC Foundation Scholarships High school seniors are now eligible to apply for the BUMC Scholarships offered through the Foundation. Applications are due April 15 and can be found at www.BUMC.net/FoundationScholarship. One of the scholarships may be given to a 2016 college grad who will attend grad school in a helping profession.
