Discernment Series www.bumc.net/Discernment Wednesdays, August 24, 31 & September 7, 6:15 – 7:30 pm The Brentwood United Methodist Lead Team is hosting Discernment Series to examine and discuss issues of human sexuality, especially as they pertain to the United Methodist Church and its mission of making disciples. The Discernment Series will use the Wesleyan Quadrilateral (scripture, reason, tradition, and experience) as a tool for discerning God’s calling in our lives and in our church. We’re serving Stroud’s hot dogs and hamburgers and ice cream. There will even be a live DJ and inflatables for the kids! South Africa Sponsorship Dinner

We will celebrate the 13 years of our partnership with South Africa through the school partnerships and Brentwood Society Church. Dr. Ray Kumalo, the founding pastor of this partnership, and Lovey, his wife, will be our guest speakers. FLOOD DISASTER RESPONSE (CONT.)

We are collecting the following items for August 27/28: yard rakes, box fans, 2-gallon garden sprayers, flat bill shovels, 25-foot extension cords. Drop off items in the Narthex Entrance, Central Office Reception Area, and the main Children's Wing Entrance. Collected items will be delivered through the Tennessee Conference Office on Tuesday, August 29. Contact David Ssebulime at dssebulime@bumc.net for more information.

JOYSOUND ORCHESTRA REHEARSALS

Sunday, August 21, 3 – 4 pm, The Pit (Room A182) Rehearsals are starting back up for the fall! All skill levels are welcome, 6th grade through adults. Bring your instruments as we rehearse for weekly services and special worship events. Please note: rehearsal is earlier due to the church picnic; we will resume meeting from 3:45 – 5:00 pm next week. MAKE A DIFFERENCE GOLF SCRAMBLE

Ongoing, 3:45 – 5:15 pm at Napier Elementary Help with our elementary after-school program for one afternoon a week throughout the fall semester.
