COMMUNION OFFERING This month’s communion offering goes toward the Benevolence Ministry. The Benevolence Ministry provides emergency, short-term financial assistance to those both within our congregation and in our community, as well as a bridge to connect recipients with long-term support. Our goal is to raise $29,000 to provide 100,000 meals to families in developing countries and those impacted by natural disasters. DISCERNMENT SERIES www.bumc.net/Discernment Wednesdays, August 17, 24, 31 & September 7, 6:15 – 7:30 pm The Brentwood United Methodist Lead Team will host a four-week Discernment Series to examine and discuss issues of human sexuality, especially as they pertain to the United Methodist Church and its mission of making disciples. The Discernment Series will use the Wesleyan Quadrilateral (scripture, reason, tradition, and experience) as a tool for discerning God’s calling in our lives and in our church.
