Ways to Step Up Step Up! 2012 is our year-long emphasis of five core practices that lead to a stronger faith and a more vibrant church. These practices include: worship, connect, invite, serve and give. Check our website, www.bumc.net and click on “Step Up” for a list of specific ways you can step up this month.
Step Up to Serve Donate blood today. Sunday, February 12, 7:30 am to 12:30 pm. Two buses will be available. Our goal is 50 units of blood. Jesus Loves the Little Children. Today we remember the children in our community and world who need our love, protection and support. Look inside your bulletin for an insert that lists 10 ways you can give hope to a child. See page 3 in the BEAM to learn how you can sponsor a child at Thembelihle, our church’s partner school in South Africa.

Step Up to Worship Ash Wednesday Worship February 22, 6:30 pm. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent and is a great time to step up to a more vibrant and growing faith as we prepare for understanding the death and resurrection of Christ. Ashes from the palms from last year’s Palm Sunday are blessed and used to mark the forehead of each worshiper. Childcare for children 3 and under. Readings for the week of February 13: John 21 and Acts 1-4 How’s your Bible reading going? This week we finish up the book of John and begin the Book of Acts (John 21 and Acts 1-4). If you haven’t begun yet, it’s a great time to jump on board.
