Welcome to Our New Senior Pastor! Dr. Davis Chappell begins his appointment this weekend at BUMC. Davis and his wife, Sherre, are coming to BUMC from Lawrenceville, GA where Davis has been senior pastor for the last twelve years. Davis is a Nashville native, and received undergraduate degrees from Martin College and Lambuth College; a Masters of Divinity at Candler School of Theology at Emory University and a Doctorate of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University. He and Sherre are the parents of two grown children: Andrew, a graduate student at Candler School of Theology, and Hailey, a sophomore at Georgia Southern University. Please join us in welcoming the Chappells! Get to Know the Chappells 6:30 pm, Haney Hall, July 9,10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25 A series of informal “Meet & Greets” will be held over the next two weeks to allow our congregation to get to know Davis and Sherre in a relaxed setting and extend to them a warm welcome. If you are a member of a Sunday School class or attend a particular worship service, take a look at the list on page 2 and try to attend at the suggested time (in order to balance group sizes). If you don’t attend a particular class or worship service, or if the designated time isn’t convenient, you may attend any time. Childcare will be available by reservation (email mspencer@bumc.net) on Thursday, July 11 and Wednesday, July 17.
