Dear Church Family, Since many people are out for fall break, I'll keep this week's e-note short. • If you missed last weekend's "Real Life" emphasis on group-life, and would like to fill out a group-life commitment card, click here. • Most of you know that Rob Huckaby, our Executive Pastor, is leaving BUMC to become the Chief Operations Officer at the Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center. This is a tremendous opportunity for Rob and I wish him and Susan God's blessings in this exciting new venture. Our Staff Parish Relations Committee will meet very soon to discuss this transition. • Our Communications Department has asked for our help locating members for whom we have no mailing addresses or telephone numbers. Click here for a list. If you have any information that will help us locate these members, please contact Fran Lusby at 324-7224 or flusby@bumc.net. • Our worship team constantly attempts to get better at planning and leading worship at BUMC. After meaningful input from many people in the congregation, we're going to experiment with a different approach to planning our services, beginning this weekend. We are going to make each of our four services more unique and distinctive, with a separate bulletin for each service. The changes will be subtle, not dramatic. For example, we're going to give the 11:00 service more of a liturgical feel than our other worship services. As always, the
worship team would appreciate your prayers as we seek to provide worship that honors God, meets the needs of our congregation, and attracts new believers to Christ and church. I hope to see you this weekend for the worship of God. I'm especially looking forward to hearing our "Joyful Sounds" orchestra play at all three Sunday services. Finally, it was good to receive Lauren and Walter McClimans; Henry and Samuel Klekamp; and Debra Love Clark as new members. Welcome to our church family. In Christ's Love and Service,
Martin
