the rhythm of life
The Rhythm of Life: Moving through the Challenges of Childhood, Adolescence, Adulthood and Senior Adulthood A Sermon Series Based on the Life of David – by Dr. Martin Thielen September 1/2 - Moving through The Challenges of Senior Adulthood
“The righteous flourish like the palm tree, and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. In old age they still produce fruit; they are always green and full of sap” – Psalm 92: 12, 14 From Abraham, Sarah and Moses in the Old Testament, to Zechariah, Elizabeth and Anna in the New Testament, Scripture is full of stories about older adults living out their faith. For modern day examples, just look around you. BUMC would not be the church it is today without countless members in their later years who take their faith seriously and put it into action through their prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness. Our Home-Centered members, who participate in the life of the church as they are able, remind us that God’s love and care for us are not dependent upon our ability, but are always available. We give thanks for the wisdom, grace, and generosity of all older adults who are leaving a legacy of faith for this community! If you are looking for ways to be involved with any of our ministries, or if you are in need of care, please see page 2 for a list of ministries, or contact Rev. Erin Racine (eracine@bumc.net; 373-3663, ext. 244).
