Fishing (alliteration)
1
2 Fishing The sea slightly glistening The sky scarcely seen. My rod secure in my grasp I feel a sudden strain. My lure starts to creep closer and closer to the surface. The line catches and commences to scream. I careen back as I reel, and the line clenches harder. A sudden CREAK Have I lost the fish? I pull back and‌ A colossal Galeocerdo cuvier comes is on the hook. I am as happy as a clam.

Colorado On a plane traveling the globe Anxious to arrive, “Are we there yet?” I croak. “No son, a total of two hours left.” “UGGGG!” I groan
I looked out the window Look mom its snowing! We can go snowball fighting! Alright son, just don’t get hypothermia.
Horrid, Harmonious, and Beautiful Bells (Onomatopoeia)
5
6 Horrid, Harmonious, and Beautiful Bells Screech! Goes the morning bell. Uggggg I groan! Is this how the horrid shriek of a chalkboard sounded. No! it’s the dreadful squeal of the morning bell! Rumble goes my tummy. All I can hear is blah, blah, blah, I'M SO HUNGRY! All of a sudden I hear the harmonious thump of the lunch bell, Mhhhhhh Boo-hoo, when will school end? I hear the most beautiful sound in the world, ding, it’s time to go home! Clump! As the trunk of my car goes down. I can finally go home and watch FRIENDS, I'm waiting for you, Chandler Bing!
The Beach and the Ball (Personification)
7
8 The Beach and the Ball Ouch! I feel the gross and disgusting feet on my rough surface. Why do these weird creatures step on me? This is not hygenic for me nor them! I just hate it when people don’t respect my personal space! At least I don’t have it as bad as my friend, Ball. Ball is constantly hit and thrown around by this unknown species. I think they call it Volleyball? Why do they torture us, And what are they?
9
Work Desk (Imagery)
10 Work Desk Sitting on my work desk, Hearing the scribbling of a pencil on it. Reaching for the drawer, I feel gum on the bottom of my desk, Nasty. I pull out my computer, Ready to crunch some numbers. My smell of ambition sweeps through my desk. I catch a picture on my desk with the corner of my eye. It’s a picture of my wife! I can taste the food that my beautiful wife cooks.
Video Games (Rhyme)
11
Video Games What are we going to play? IDK! PUB.G? Or Call of Duty? What about Fifa, Or Zelda. Pac Man? No, how about Spiderman! And Fortnite? All right! The girls say, “Those boys with their toys.” But we say, “Where we landing boys!”
12
Growing Up (Simile and Metaphor)
13
Growing Up Double the vision like a four eyed magnifying glass, Seeing the world as it spins. Growing up big and tall. Clumsy like a cub, trying not to fall. Learning new things through my journey. Falling through many pits, But climbing up, not throwing a fit. My family there for me. Always helping like a teacher, But never mean like a bad dream.
14
Soccer (Tone)
15
Soccer A worldwide sport. Played with your friends Just wishing it never ends, Man, this is fun! Kicking a ball? In the season of fall How is this fun for y’all? Not a good call. A ball and net, Teams of eleven, Kick it around. Score some goals.
16
The Courageous and the Insecure Partier (Mood)
The Courageous Kid Walking to the party All confident and cool. Gonna meet some new people All right, Smooth! Gonna dance with my friends and have a good time, Not coming home on time.
17
The Insecure Kid Walking to the party All nervous and insecure. Gonna meet some new people Oh no, what do I do? Gonna dance with my friends, please no! I gotta go, I need to get home on time.
18
Homework (Hyperbole)
19
20 Homework I have a pile of homework the size of Mount Vesuvius “What do I do?” I ask my parents. They respond, “You have to do it, it’s obvious!” Should I do this, Or lie that I have gingivitis? A million things to do, Have no spare time. Should I bribe the teacher, and give her a dime? Nonsense, you will complete this task. I just need to climb this book mountain to get my papers.
The Vessel (Allusion)
21
The Vessel
22
On my way to the colonies. Riding on the Mayflower. A strenuous three month journey I write in my journal everyday like Charles Darwin. Not knowing what day it is. How will this land be? Confused but happy, Hoping for a new life. A pilgrim. No more king No more rules No more restrictions.
A Team (Sonnet)
23
A Team She was being controlled, she was an addict, Her lips were pale, she explores in the night, No excuse, this was her normal tactic. No one would believe she was somewhat bright. A dream of a free land nothing to worry, Needs dough, looking for a man ready to cheat, Leaving the building her vision is blurry. Sad and lonely wandering the street. Traveling around town living crazy, She was free but the demon said it’s late, All tired and fatigued starts feeling lazy. It was time for her to realize her fate. In her world she felt like she was flying, But she found herself on the floor dying.
