GOSSSSIP and VIRALITY
Critique on GCI: VR representation using unity
Google Cultural Institute uses the tools of gossip and virality, displayed on social media, to generate an interior of neural networks encompassing people's private features and thoughts.
GCI The concept of virality and gossip operate on this premise of layered information, both altered and unaltered. I look at the terms of virality, gossip and collection as a linear progression, yet they all return to the same point, ultimately operating as a cycle. The aesthetic of the game is one that mimics "internet trash". It is kind of a nonsensical compilation of items and information that makes its somewhat funny and trashy.

The nature of gossip often leads to information not directly related to surface. For instance, our exhibition starts off with analyzing Poem Portraits as a GCI collaborative. Exhibited in the style of selfies, the simple portrait of the participant is blank, with limited association of personal information. The computer algorithm is what adds the text, filter and logo to the image, making it a GCI product. When this is circulated on social media, the gossip is created through likes, hashtags, comments and retweets. It is even more exaggerated when a celebrity is involved.

Ariana Grande, a participant of this project, uploads her selfie, immediately instigating hashtags/keywords relating to her to appear on our feeds. There is gossip involving Pete Davidson, her ex-fiancee, her feud with F21, and so on. This hype among her fans, and the revolving gossip then leads back to Ariana's collaboration with GCI, Google's ulterior motive to advertising their music streaming server.

THREE FIELDS
Children's cooking house & Library Study abroad in copenhagen, denmark: this culture house locatd at the enigma museum derives much from the historical changes of field systems to create a space that educates kids about both food and culture.

Denmark, a country that relied heavily on agriculture has had a long history of farming and agricultural practices. My investigation started with research of the changes that occurred since the 1300s regarding farming structures and field systems.

Indepth research led to the conclusion that there was always a central location for gathering despite changes in land distribution. Drawing from diagrams created by examining both the field divisions and the movement of people, the two kitchens and the dining room were situated to create a constant flow of interaction and transparency.

Articulated Binding product design
What started out as a project to create a binding for a printed portfolio, the product became a journey to redefine book "binding" and to understand the importance of material manipulation. Bass is manipulated, pushed to its boundaries to create a new, flexible form. Though the current stage of the project remains as a binder for paper, it also has the potential to develop into a binder of items, like a handbag.
