ACCEPTANCE TESTING

Acceptance testing is performed to assure that electrical equipment and systems are operational, are within applicable standards, such as International Electrical Testing Association (NETA), manufacturers’ tolerances, and are installed in accordance with design specifications. Acceptance testing is an important first step in guaranteeing a product’s baseline for future maintenance plans to ensure a long lifespan.

PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE

With electrical equipment having longer than ever lead times for new equipment, taking proper care of existing equipment is more important than ever. Preventative maintenance is key in extending equipment lifespan, reducing replacement costs, and avoiding service interruptions. JET’s team is here to help with both the planning, development, and execution of your site’s specific preventive maintenance needs.

EQUIPMENT

DILO SF6 GAS HANDLING

These cutting-edge DILO SF6 gas reclamation units, the Mini Series DILO Service Cart and the complete, self-contained trailer-mounted Economy L Series DILO, will enable to recover, purify, and safely store SF6 gas, ensuring efficient evacuation and refilling.

Designed for high voltage circuit breakers and gas insulated switchgear, these units provide ultimate handling flexibility. The trailer-mounted SF6 gas reclamation unit is portable and reliable making it perfect for any project stage. The compact Mini Series unit is ideal for tight spaces like data centers and industrial locations.

JET Electrical Testing understands the importance of responsible handling when it comes to SF6 gas. JET’s SF6 Gas Carts feature an advanced filtration system that effectively removes impurities and moisture. By doing so, not only enables the reusability of the gas, but also minimize emissions, promoting environmental sustainability.

Whether it’s new installation, ongoing maintenance, or gas capture for removal, the experts of JET is here to assist every step of the way.

SUCCESS STORY TESTED OVER ONE MILLION METERS!

The effort entails not only testing removed meters for accuracy, as required by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, but also sample quality control efforts for new smart meters prior to installation. JET will test just under 2 million meters in total for PSE&G by the end of 2024.

The effort is great for energy efficiency as PSE&G’s Smart Meter program as a key to the utility’s overall Advanced Metering Infrastructure, which enables additional benefits for customers, including more information about their energy usage, near real-time power outage detection and more efficient power restoration efforts following storms.

The partnership however is about far more than just energy, it’s about economic development in our home state.

JET Electrical Testing’s Chief Executive Officer, Alexandra Jingoli Smolar said, “the Company has used the opportunity with PSE&G to establish a highly functional meter test shop and workforce development program in New Jersey, allowing for the creation of more than 25 full-time International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) jobs to date.”

Emphasizing a hiring and onboarding program called JET PILOT, Promoting Industrial Labor Opportunities Throughout, the Company has provided individuals beginning their careers, facing adversity, or seeking a second chance with entrylevel positions within the IBEW.

JET PILOT offers the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) certifications, experience driving box trucks, forklift training and operation, meter testing equipment and software, résumé writing and interpersonal skills development. Each employee will have direct entry as a union member, work a full-time position, and receive competitive union wages with a complete benefits package, inclusive of pension and annuity programs.

As of March 2024, the project has tested over 1.3 million meters with an on-time completion of December 2024.
