formal/informal landscapes cranbrook focused on the relationship between informal / formal landscape. as a primary, secondary, post-secondary academy as well as an art museum, there are relationships between two groups who benefit from cranbrook. the formal expression of this relationship represented by a sloping form oriented towards the public realm. this form is juxtaposed by an adjacent rectangular form oriented toward the academic realm.

browne pop-culture center the Browne Popular Culture Library at bgsu, a center for popular culture studies in ohio, is limited in the display of thier collection within the main library. a popular culture museum, sited south of campus, is the solution to this problem. using the village context south of campus, the museum is placed, cut, and defined by the pedestrian circulation into the site. this circulation defines three main forms that are visually linked to (1 campus-north, (2 telecomunicationseast, (3 student housing -south

corbuser still life / grid composition this project called for the juxtaposition a le corbusier still life, and an orthogonal grid. the focus of this project was the reinterpretation of hierarchical elements from the painting and the grid. scale, positive / negative space, hierarchy, juxtaposition, color, and contrast were all conceptual elements of the work.

prototypical scheme study archetype schemes focused on the prototypical schemes within the realm of architecture. the scope of the project consisted of the tower, parallel, piloti, and l schemes. spatial, sectional, and circulatory organizational systems were explored within the parameters of the project.

owens corning booth design this is a trade booth design for owens corning, a building materials company located in toledo, ohio. it was a workshop that six students and i were apart of in 2009, in addition to our normal studies. the design was for the 2009 international green build expo in phoenix, arizona.

design build:cmu motion exists within the windy site on bowling green’s campus. wind, a dynamic fluid, created the grapchical representaion of the project. our group associated the heart with dynamics; as the heart, a source of dynamics within the human body, clearly displays the fluid nature of motion that exists both internally and externally.

volumetric expoloration the basis for this project was the exploration of the transformation from a point to line, plane, volume. formalization of space followed the conceptual drawings/models. concepts focused on transformation, spatial relation, additive/subtractive form, and hierarchy of elements.
