THE BIG READ 2017 The JeffersonMadison Regional Library invites all book lovers of Central Virginia to participate in the NEA Big Read during March 2017. Everyone is encouraged to read and discuss this year’s book selection, Silver Sparrow by Tayari Jones, throughout the month.

LOUISA COMIC CON Saturday, May 6 10:30am-4pm Celebrate Free Comic Book Day at the Louisa County Library. Fun workshops, special guests, artwork on display, free comics, raffles, costume contests, crafts, a photo booth, prizes and more. Don’t forget to enter in the Comic Book Hero Art Contest for all school-aged children. All ages welcome to attend this celebration of all things comic!
COMIC BOOK HERO ART CONTEST If you like art and comic books, then this is the contest for you! Draw your favorite super hero on a sheet of paper using pencil, colored pencils, markers, crayons or chalk, and then mount it on a piece of poster board (so that the finished size is no larger than 11” x14”). Then, between regular business hours the week before May 1, bring your artwork to the Louisa Library. All entries will be on display at the library during Comic Book Day on Saturday, May 6. Entries will be judged in four age categories: K-2nd grade, 3rd-5th grade, 6-8th grade, and 9-12th grade. First, second and third place winners will be revealed at the Comic Book event and will receive ribbons and prizes. Pick up your entry form in April.
