Operates electric, diesel-electric or gas-turbine-electric locomotives. Inspects locomotive before operating. Interprets train orders. Assists conductor in training new employees, and has the ability to handle train equipment in a safe manner using independent or automatic brakes. Must have 1 year engineer/switching experience.
Load trucks/railcars with dry bulk fertilizers using a conveyor system. Operate the load out system with multiple hoppers/scales. Heavy equipment operation is recommended. Must have strong computer and math skills, and strong communication skills with truck drivers/coworkers
Must be familiar with stevedoring work. Unloading/loading ships and barges. Must be able to operate excavators/ large front end loaders. NO FORK LIFT OPERATORS! Other duties include loading/unloading rail cars and trucks and other terminal operations. Shift work/Pay DOE.

I just moved to Houston because of a recent divorce and am looking for a job. My experience was in a family business, and I really did some of everything. I guess that most of what I did was managing the salespeople and other employees. I’m not sure what position best fits me. Can you help? - Sugar Land, Texas Reader Your experience is so specific to a certain type of company that you need to actually analyze it and decide which job duties you enjoyed the most. Once you’ve done that, you can look for jobs that target that experience. The title “Manager” is sometimes misleading: a person may have years of experience managing a body shop, but that experience doesn’t translate to managing a dental office. (I know you weren’t managing a body shop – it’s just
an example!) It may be more efficient to apply for a non-management job. Once the recruiter sees your experience, it’s very possible that she/he will talk with you about management. Many companies prefer to promote from within. They will start you in a lower position, watch you prove yourself, and then promote you to manager. That scenario will get you where you want even if it takes a little longer. I am thinking about moving to Houston because I hear there are a lot more jobs there, but I really don’t like big cities – I hate the traffic. • Verifiable work experience (preferable in the food or beverage industry) • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Capable of working in a fast paced environment
Warehouse Labor (Cold Storage)
• Entry level warehouse position responsible for lifting/stacking/moving product manually and/or with the use of clamp truck. • Loading the product properly on truck, according to the Load Plan, making certain that tools such as Load Bars, Dock Plates and Pallet Jacks (as needed) are also properly placed on each truck. • Must adhere to all regulatory and company policies and procedures as well as safety rules

• Class A CDL required with clean MVR • Verifiable OTR or local driving experience (tractor/trailer and 53’ reefer)
