Because companies have cut back sharply on training entry-level workers, you may need to invest some time and money in technical training. Lone Star College and Houston Community College have excellent training for certification. You can learn to run computer controlled machines in just a few months. These positions require someone who is easily trained, has an aptitude for the job, and who is eager to work. You will have an advantage if you are familiar with the type of work that you want. If you have a relative who works in a specific industry, you may decide that you want to work in the same field, and it’s possible that you can get some guidance from that person. You can be on the threshold of a satisfying and lucrative career.
