irstly, I’d like to welcome tonight’s guest’s, Bristol Flyers, to the Sir David Wallace arena here at the Loughborough University. I think we might have witnessed one of the best games of BBL History last Saturday with 23 lead changes and two game winning game shots and a great atmosphere. The next day was a tough journey to Glasgow and ended four tough games in eight days with over 1000 miles travelled by our team and staff.
Surrey we will now play Glasgow Rocks after they beat London Lions, this game will be played on 23rd November 4pm tip off. We have also moved another fixture vs Leeds Force from 4th April to 9th November with a 6pm tip-off. The Cheshire Fixture from 22nd November has now moved to 4th April. Make sure you book your ticket in advance to guarantee your seat for these great games at Loughborough University.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Roberts coaches for providing high-quality travel for our team. If you would like to support the team on the road please speak to Oz (Mr 50/50) for travel info and tickets.
Our Junior National league development programme has started well. It is the first time most of our 13’s boys and U14’s have played competitive basketball. It has been a tough start for them in regards to results but last week our U13’s won their first game vs Northants. Congratulations to everyone involved and thank you to everyone for putting so much time into the programme.
Before tonight’s game we saw our women’s team take on Oaklands in the National Cup, following a great start for the women’s team and last weekends wins against Braking Abbey and Leeds in the WBBL, they now sit top of the WBBL. Congratulations to them for a great start. I encourage all our fans to come down early to support them throughout the WBBL season.
The atmosphere here at the SDW has been phenomenal and is an exciting indication of things to come! So please make some noise and get behind your team. Your MD
