VANISHING THULE Das ehemalige Indianermuseum wurde seit seiner Eröffnung 1961 durch private und ö ffentliche Spenden stetig ausgebaut und im Jahr 2003 politisch korrekter in Nordamerika Native Museum umbenannt. Neben zahlreichen Dauerausstellungen gibt es auch regelmässig Sonderausstellungen, wie die kürzlich gezeigte »Vanishing Thule«, des Zürcher Fotografen Markus Bühler-Rasom.

This former »Indian Museum« has, thanks to private and public donations, been expanding constantly since its inception in 1961. In 2003, it finally changed its name to the more politically correct North American Native Museum. Its numerous permanent exhibitions are regularly flanked by special exhibitions such as Z urich photographer Markus Bühler-Rasom's recent showing of »Vanishing Thule«.

DADA AFRIKA Weltweit zum ersten Mal widmet sich eine Ausstellung der Auseinander setzung der Dadaisten mit aussereuropäischer Kunst und Kultur. Sie zeigt den Dialog zwischen europäischen dadaistischen Arbeiten und Artefakten aus Afrika. Die Schau ist eine Kooperation des Museums Rietberg und der Berlinischen Galerie und wird anschliessend dort zu sehen sein. This is the world's first exhibition devoted to the Dadaists' preoccupation with non-European art and culture. It documents the exciting dialogue b etween Dadaist art and artefacts from Africa. The exhibition is a cooperation between Museum Rietberg and the Berlinische Galerie, where it will subsequently be hosted.

PICTURE BALLOT Rund 40 Gemälde, Plastiken und Grafiken stellte Gastkuratorin Daniela Hardmeier anlässlich der »Bilderwahl« vor. Leitthema ist das Rollenverständnis des Künstlers und seiner sozialen Stellung seit der Renaissance. Guest curator Daniela Hardmeier put together around 40 paintings, threedimensional and graphic works for the »Picture Ballot!« exhibition. Its central theme is understanding the role and social status of the artist since the Renaissance.

DADAGLOBE RECONSTRUCTED Tristan Tzara hatte 1921 Dadaisten aus der ganzen Welt gebeten, ihm Kunstwerke und Texte zuzusenden, damit er mit Dadaglobe eine Art Bestandsaufnahme machen könne. Jetzt würdigt das Kunsthaus Zürich diese Rundumschau mit einer Ausstellung, welche ab Juni 2016 im Museum of Modern Art, New York zu sehen sein wird. In 1921, Tristan Tzara asked Dadaists from around the globe to send him artworks and texts to allow him to effectively inventory them in his Dadaglobe. Kunsthaus Zürich is now honoring this panoramic survey with an exhibition that will also be shown at the Museum of Modern Art in New York from June 2016.

MATERIAL AND VISION Im Jahr 2006 schenkte Bruno Giacometti der Stiftung des Kunsthauses 75 wertvolle Originalgipse seines Bruders Alberto. In einem mehrjährigen Forschungsprojekt wurden sie von den Restauratoren des Kunsthauses für diese Ausstellung vorbereitet. Hinzu kommen Leihgaben aus anderen Sammlungen, die erstmals in dieser Fülle in der Schweiz zu sehen sind. Bruno Giacometti gifted the Alberto Giacometti Foundation with 75 of his brother's precious original plasters, as a result of which they came to the Kunsthaus in 2006. The works were examined by Kunsthaus restorers and prepared for this exhibition as part of a multi-year research project. Complementary loans from other collections add up to a Giacometti exhibition on a scale never before seen in Switzerland.

Der österreichische Multi-Perkussionist Martin Grubinger hat sich besonders darum verdient gemacht, das Schlagwerk als Solo instrument in den Mittelpunkt des klassischen Konzertbetriebs zu stellen. Ein Highlight seiner Zürcher Residenz wird ein ekstatisches Konzert mit der Pianistin Yuja Wang am 17.12.2016 sein.

NOVEL OF A CAREER Klaus Manns MEPHISTO von 1936, der »Roman einer Karriere«, gehört zu den bedeutendsten und wichtigsten Texten der Exilliteratur. In der Regie von Dušan David Pařízek feierte MEPHISTO Anfang 2016 im Pfauen Premiere. Dabei werden Miriam Maertens, Elisa Plüss, M ichael Neuenschwander, Siggi Schwientek und André Willmund auf der Bühne zu erleben sein. Klaus Mann's 1936 version of Mephisto – »Novel of a Career« – ranks as one of the foremost texts born of Germany's literary diaspora. Directed by Dušan David Pařízek, Mephisto will premiere in early 2016 in the Pfauen, opposite the Kunsthaus. Miriam Maertens, Elisa Plüss, Michael Neuenschwander, Siggi Schwientek and André Willmund are all part of the cast.

Austrian multi-percussionist M artin Grubinger's principal claim to fame is the way he has positioned solo percussion as a highlight of the classical concert world. Perhaps the zenith of his residence in Zurich will be a scintillating concert with pianist Yuja Wang on December 17, 2016.

MONEY JUSTICE Friedrich Dürrenmatts bittere Komödie »Der Besuch der alten Dame«, 1956 am Schauspielhaus Zürich uraufgeführt, ist voller grotesker Fantasie und zeigt die makabre Automatik, zu der Geld verführen kann. Mit der Neuinszenierung stellt sich der ungarische Regisseur Viktor Bodó erstmals dem Zürcher Publikum vor. In der Hauptrolle brilliert Friederike Wagner. The world premiere of Friedrich Dürrenmatt's bitter comedy »The Visit« was hosted here in 1956. Overflowing with grotesque fantasy, it portrays the macabre automaton-like self-interest to which money can seduce us. This new production brings Hungarian director Viktor Bodó to Zurich audiences for the first time. Friederike Wagner shines in the lead role.

WOZZECK Bereits 1914 sah Alban Berg Büchners Drama auf der Bühne und begann sofort, an einer Oper zu arbeiten. Doch erst 1921 konnte er sie fertigstellen; aber bis zur Uraufführung im Jahr 1925 sollten noch einmal vier Jahre vergehen. Andreas Homoki inszeniert das expressionistisch übersteigerte Seelendrama vor dem fantastischen Bühnenbild von Michael Levine.

In four unconnected scenes, the Opera House's famous Ballett Zürich dances »New Sleep« by William Forsythe, »Skew-Whiff« by Sol León and Paul Lightfoot, »Aria« by Douglas Lee and the world premiere of »Dialogos« by Filipe Portugal. The world-renowned choreographers designed their own stage scenery for all four scenes.

Alban Berg determined to fashion Büchner's drama into an opera the moment he saw it on stage in 1914. It took until 1921 to complete; and another four years passed before the work was first performed. Andreas Homoki directs this bombastically expressionist psychological drama against a magnificent set crafted by Michael Levine.

TURANDOT Es ist die letzte Oper Giacomo Puccinis, die erst nach seinem Tod von Franco Alfano nach dessen Skizzen fertiggestellt wurde. Um die fernöstliche Welt in seiner Musik anklingen zu lassen, zitiert Puccini die Klänge einer chinesischen Spieluhr, welche ihm ein Freund aus China besorgt hatte. Giancarlo del Monaco inszenierte Turandot vor der Kulisse von Peter Sykora. This, Giacomo Puccini's last (and incomplete) opera, was not finished until after his death by Franco Alfano. Puccini grafted Far Eastern influences into his music, drawing on the sounds of a music box given to him by a friend returning from China. Giancarlo del Monaco directs the work against Peter Sykora's masterful backdrop.

THE POWER AND THE GLORY Albführen, jenseits der Grenze im deutschen Dettighofen, war Ziel des Automobile Chapter 2015. Bekannt ist das Hofgut für seine internationalen Reitturniere. Doch dieses Mal kamen Pferdestärken statt Pferde. Mehrere Dutzend Mitglieder des Club Baur au Lac hatten ihre vierrädrigen Schätze aus der Garage geholt und für die Ausfahrt noch einmal frisch polieren lassen. Am Ziel angekommen präsentierte der Concours chromblitzende Highlights aus acht Jahrzehnten Automobilgeschichte. Albführen, just across the border into Germany, was the destination targeted by the Automobile Chapter in 2015. Though international horse riding tournaments are what the manor estate is known for, horse power was the focus of attention on this auspicious day. Several dozen members of the Club Baur au Lac rolled their Bentleys and Bugattis, Jaguars and Wiesmanns out of the garage and had them polished like bright new pins for the occasion. On arrival, the cavalcade presented a glittering retrospective on wheels: eight decades of automotive history.

SOUND OF THE SOUL Gleich an zwei Abenden traf man sich dann zum Apéritif Prolongé um anschliessend in der Tonhalle Virtuosen der klassischen Musik zu lauschen. Zunächst erfreute sich das Publikum an der grossartigen Stimme der Sopranistin Simone Kermes. Während der zweiten Soirée dirigierte Lionel Bringuier das Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich zu Werken von Dvoràk und Tschaikowsky. An apéritif prolongé was followed not once, but twice by evenings of the most virtuoso classical music at the Tonhalle. First up, the audience thrilled to the marvelous voice of soprano Simone Kermes. On the second evening, Lionel Bringuier conducted works by Dvořák and Tchaikovsky played by the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich.

LUCKY 13! Die Zahl 13 gilt vielen als Unglücksziffer. Gigi Kracht glaubt nicht daran und so wurde auch die 13. Ausgabe von Art in the Park, die sie in Zusammenarbeit mit Galerie Gmurzynska organisierte, zu einem grossen Erfolg. Jeden Sommer schmücken Skulpturen berühmter Künstler den Park des Baur au Lac, diesmal in einer Solo Show des Britischen Pop Art Künstlers Allen Jones. Zur Eröffnung lachte die Sonne und ihre Strahlen zauberten einzigartige Lichtstimmungen auf die farbenfrohen Neuinterpretationen der menschlichen Silhouette. Die Gästeliste zur Vernissage las sich wie ein Who is Who der internationalen Sammler Szene und beweist einmal mehr, welchen Stellenwert sich diese Veranstaltung im Vorfeld der Art Basel inzwischen erobern konnte. Some consider thirteen to be an unlucky number. Gigi Kracht's hugely successful Art in the Park series, organized in collaboration with Galerie Gmurzynska, clearly begs to differ. Every summer, sculptures by top artists adorn the Baur au Lac Park, and 2015 brought a solo show by British pop artist Allen Jones. Glorious sunshine did its bit on the opening day, when the list of guests invited for private viewing read like a who's who of the international collectors' scene. Once again, Art in the Park emphatically underscored the prominence to which it has attained in the run-up to Art Basel.

Am Ende der Dreharbeiten, die sich aufgrund aufwändiger PostProduction über mehrere Wochen hinziehen, bleibt ein auf knapp sieben Minuten komprimiertes Video, das schon kurz nach der ersten Ausstrahlung auf YouTube den amerikanischen Telly Award einheimsen konnte. VIEWS greift jene Inhalte, die das Baur au Lac von heute beleuchten, noch einmal auf – hier können Sie sich mehr als sieben Minuten Zeit nehmen.

A drone takes off from the Park lawn, rising into the air and floating toward the flags that wave from the eaves of the Baur au Lac. From this lofty vantage point, its modern 4k camera zooms in on Andrea Kracht, whose initial statement about the Baur au Lac's six-generation family tradition begins off-camera. His likeness then comes sharply into view. Thus begins a film whose creators use moving pictures to try to convey what the Baur au Lac – a hotel that has been around for more than 170 years – is all about. Modern communication demands a visual presence, especially in social media. Sophisticated editing and post-production keeps the project running for several weeks. The outcome is a compact, nearly seven-minute video that snapped up the American Telly Award soon after its initial broadcast on YouTube. This year's VIEWS picks up on the themes that sum up what the Baur au Lac is today. But don't worry: You can take more than seven minutes. Take all the time in the world!

Die unablässige Bereitschaft, den Gast bei seinen ganz alltäglichen Anliegen und Bedürfnissen zu beraten und zu unterstützen, darin sehen die Concierges ihre eigentliche Aufgabe, und diesen sehr persönlichen Service leisten sie stets freundlich, zuverlässig und diskret. Und was immer Sie über Zürich wissen möchten – die Concierges kennen ihre Stadt. Das Hochhalten von Bettlaken, um Gäste vor neugierigen Kameras zu schützen, gehört allerdings auch im Baur au Lac eher nicht zum alltäglichen Repertoire.

CHARD GYOZA (FOR 4 PERSONS) 4 cl. sunflower oil 20 g. fresh, chopped ginger 80 g. cooking butter 1 pc. lemon leaves 500 g. fresh, washed chard 60 g. fresh, chopped shallots 100 g. fresh ricotta 100 g. cooked ham in 2 mm cubes 20 pc. gyoza dough 1 fresh egg Salt, Fleur de sel Guérande, Pepper from the grinder, Coriander, fresh PREPARATION: Remove the leaves from the chard's stem and wash them. Peel the stems and blanch them in saltwater. Shock it in ice water and cut it into cubes. Blanch the green leaf, too; shock them in ice water and chop them finely. Heat the butter in a sauté sauce, add the chopped shallots. Steam the whole mixture with the lemon leaves and ginger for 5 min., add the chard stems and leaves and steam the lot for another 3 min. Put the whole mixture in a bowl and let it cool off. Thoroughly mix with cooked ham, ricotta and coriander. Fill the mass into a piping bag and let it stand overnight. Spread out the Gyoza dough; coat it with egg and, using the piping bag, fill each piece with about a teaspoon-full of the mixture. FINISHING: Seal the dough. Cook the Gyoza dumplings in saltwater, let them drain off on a towel and slightly sauté them in sunflower oil. BON APPÉTIT!

Da sind zum einen die reinen Gourmets, welche hierher kommen um ein mehrgängiges Menu zu geniessen, zum anderen gilt es auch den spät anreisenden Hotelgast zufrieden zu stellen, der einfach vor dem Schlafen gehen noch etwas zu essen sucht. Wie er das schafft? »Nun, hier bin ich sehr stark auf die Hilfe des Teams angewiesen, wie natürlich Kochen und Servieren immer eine Teamleistung ist. Bevor die Gäste eintreffen, stimmen wir uns exakt ab, er weiss, was wir im Haus haben, was die Küche zu leisten im Stande ist, und eben auch was nicht. Questions about future accolades draw a rare frown: »I think we should take these accolades seriously and now prove that we – my team in the kitchen, the people in the restaurant and the whole Baur au Lac – truly deserve them.« Where other star-studded restaurants serve one fixed menu a day to maybe 30 guests, Eperon relishes the daily challenge of satisfying a much wider spectrum of culinary expectations. Yet whether he is serving purist gourmets or tired hotel guests who just want a bite to eat, his commitment remains unwavering: to put »nothing but the very best on the table«. How does he cope with that? »Well, I have to rely heavily on the assistance of my team, as cooking and serving food is always a team effort. But it is precisely in this kind of situation that I can trust my head waiter. We put our heads together before the guests arrive and he knows exactly what we have on the prem ises, what the kitchen can do and what it can’t. La Horra is midway between the picturesque villages of Sotillo to the north and Roa to the south, the latter straddling the Rio Duero as it crosses Spain's high central plains, or »Mese ta«, from east to west. The roughly 20-minute journey to the provincial capital of Aranda del Duero takes you eastward through flattish countryside that alternates between vineyards, cornfields and arable land planted with vegetables. Here, the bodega Viñedos y Bodegas García Figuero stands 800 meters above sea level, shielded from the cold Atlantic winds by mountain ridges to the north. Pronounced seasonal fluctu ations and marked differences between daytime and night time temperatures are par for the course in this continental, Mediterranean-influenced climate zone. The summers are hot, with temperatures peaking at 40° C. The winters are harsh and long, the mercury plunging as low as 16° C. Notwithstanding, the region can clock up more than 2,400 hours of sunshine a year, against a comparatively paltry 450 millimeters of pre cipitation. All in all, the climate is thus conducive to the canny, natural cultivation of vines that require only minimal human intervention – and largely get by without chemical defenses. The García Figuero family's most valuable asset, however, are the vines themselves, whose Tempranillo has traditionally been highly esteemed by respected wineries of the caliber of world-famous bodega Vega Sicilia. For good reason: José María García has always tended his vines with the greatest of care, adding steadily to generations of accumulated experi ence. To this day, indeed, he still guards a unique treasure: the family's own Tempranillo clones, taken from vines that date back to before the great phylloxera plague. Over the years and decades, the assiduous vintner has repeatedly multiplied his best plants, such that it is certainly reasonable to speak of a unique Figuero clone. García's dream was always to one day press his own wines from his own grapes. He wanted the high standards of work in his vineyards to be carried over to the wine cellar too. In 2001, his dream finally came true for the first time – thanks to the dedicated efforts of García himself, his wife and their three children Antonio, Henar and Carlos, who were by now willing to shoulder responsibility in the family business.

SYMBOLIC OF LIFE, DEATH AND REBIRTH, JADE CICADAS ARE CENTRAL TO THE WORK OF ZOU QIONGHUI.

The more you talk to Zou Qionghui, the more her intense reverence for jade cicadas becomes apparent. She sees these creatures as sacred and believes that, if they are to be included in art, this must be done properly and respectfully. Jade has always played a part in Chinese culture, above all in the higher social echelons. The ancient nobility would never go anywhere without jade, a mild, mellow stone that is felt to reflect Confucian doctrine. Both cicadas and jade thus have distinct cultural identities that have long been revered in Chinese tradition. As she creates her works of art, Qionghui traces the contours of cicadas before placing them on the canvas. They are burned and polished several times, causing the bodies to crack and reveal another structure: the ecstasy of artistic creation, perhaps? Or maybe a fleeting resemblance to the patterns of human movement through the subways of Beijing? The process of creation and re-creation mirrors the artist's understanding of life and death; it is her way of seeking answers to the questions that transcend mortality. If the body cannot continue on after death, then only the spirit remains truly immortal. In the world that Zou Qionghui has created, the philosophy and semiotics are rich and substantial, though admittedly complex. Cicadas acquire the quality of a lens through which she examines the philosophy of our own lives. Qionghui has a deep yearning for truth and upholds her artistic integrity unswervingly. Rather than blindly following the temptation to ape the latest trends, the years she has devoted to profound exploration will doubtless ensure that her art remains as timeless as the cicadas she has taken into her fold. Born on October 23, 1975, in the Chinese province of Sichuan, Zou Qionghui today lives and works in Beijing and Chengdu. Our first personal encounter came about in the summer of 2015, when she ran a solo exhibition entitled »Rebirth« at Gallery 456 in Manhattan. This mind-boggling show focused on cicadas, their language and lifecycle patterns, and their almost miraculous process of ecdysis, the shedding of their skin. Qionghui told me that she has long been mesmerized by this process, which she sees as symbolizing death and rebirth. As a result, she also incorporates jade cicadas in her paintings. The artist seemingly stops at nothing – from cutting paper to rubbing, burning and even effecting chemical corrosion – to create her uneven visual textures. Throughout her art, cicadas are not only a medium, but also a retelling of her own experience. When combined with a knowledge of Chinese cultural history, this symbiosis creates its own unique kind of dialectic philosophy.

Meeting German-born Ursula von Rydingsvard at Art Basel Miami on December 2, 2015, was a delightful surprise. After all, it isn't every day that I bump into an artist whose work I am totally captivated by! Perhaps inevitably for someone born to parents of Ukrainian and Polish origin in what was then Nazi Germany (in 1942), von Rydings vard's childhood was shaped and scarred by the cataclysms of World War II. Before she turned eight, she and her family – her parents and six siblings – had been shunted back and forth between no fewer than nine refugee camps. It was not until December 1950 that the family finally found a home in the USA, settling first in Plainfield, Connecticut. The artist herself links her deep commitment to the dignity of labor and the respect she pays to natural materials, above all wood, to these experiences in early childhood.

Deb Lawrence was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on September 11, 1958. Her parents, both medical doctors, taught her to dream big dreams and follow wherever her imagination led her. Having said that, Kiki Smith's own ideas and approaches have changed substantially over time. An initial wariness toward art history, expressing itself at times as a dismissal of patriarchal traditions, had by the mid-1990s given way to virtual immersion in the study of this subject. The course of her art began to change again about ten years ago, as she gravitated away from her primary focus on the human form to explore multiple directions in a body of work that has become increasingly personal and idiosyncratic, engaging both the natural world and the wider cosmos. Her collections are, in effect, a meditation on life and the human condition. In the past few years, Smith has increasingly withdrawn from the world of social engagement to enter the realm of the imagination, located specifically in her domestic situation and private life. Nearly a year ago, toward the end of April, 99 Gansevoort Street in New York was still a maze of scaffolding as the new Whitney Museum moved from its previous home on Madison Avenue to set down new roots. The paintings were not yet on the walls, but that didn’t stop onlookers (myself included!) from trying to get a peek inside wherever they could. Yet lo and behold, this was one major cultural institution that opened right on schedule! Besides being the most widely anticipated museum opening in years, the Whitney Museum of American Art was certainly primed to be the new belle of the ball – thanks largely to the masterful orchestration of Adam Weinberg, its

He actually left school in his early teens to devote himself to this sport. Back then, however, cycling was no way to earn a living, so he sidelined working at a kitchen under the tutelage of Gerard Rabaey from Le Pont de Brent in Switzerland. His formative years took him to the Baur au Lac at the age of 19, when cooking took over from cycling as his ultimate adrenaline-booster! In October 2015, the Baur au Lac brought Daniel Humm over for a brief comeback in the very kitchen where he had trained and worked. He received a tremendously warm welcome, and his creative prowess was on display for all to see as he worked his magic with ingredients indigenous to Switzerland. He was only here for five short days. But maybe, time permitting, we will one day be able to entice him back to Zurich for a little longer! Daniel himself and Eleven Madison Park have been awarded four stars by the New York Times; six James Bard Foundation Awards (including »Outstanding Chef« and »Outstanding Restaurant in America«); three Michelin stars; and a top spot on the San Pellegrino list of the World's 50 Best Restaurants. The other restaurant he owns with Guidara, The NoMad, has likewise garnered three stars from the New York Times, one from Michelin and a James Beard Foundation Award of its own. Grossen Wert legt die Foundation dabei auf die Bewahrung der Traditionen und der einzigartigen Kultur Sumbas.

Sie basiert auf Dokumenten aus dem Archiv des Kurators Harald Szeemann. Für »Obsession Dada« werden Dokumente über das Museum der Obsessionen und die Agentur für geistige Gastarbeit publiziert. Weltweit feiern Museen diese vielleicht skurrilste Kunstströmung der Kulturgeschichte. Einige bedeutende Orte haben wir hier aufgelistet. To coincide with the 100th anniversary of the birth of Dadaism, the Cabaret Voltaire is showing the exhibition »Obsession Dada« – based on documents from the archive of curator Harald Szeeman – from February 5, 2016. Zurich is hailed as the birthplace of Dadaism, and Cabaret Voltaire was an intellectual home to many artists. When threatened with conversion to a pharmacy in 2002, artists illegally occupied the building and sought to revive the movement under the guise of NeoDadaism. Though they were ultimately evicted, the building has since been used regularly by the City of Zurich as a cultural venue.

Bringing outstanding crafts, skills and manufacturing techniques together has long been the Hublot way. That is seen on a grand scale in its partnership with Ferrari, but is also reflected on a smaller scale in other areas: For its Big Bang collection, Hublot enlisted the support of one of the most respected embroidery companies. St. Gallen-based Bischoff has cultivated traditional textile production techniques for generations. The outcome of its unique liaison with Hublot is the Big Bang Broderie collection, represented to perfection by Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli.

THEORY OF COLOURS Frei nach Johann Wolfgang Goethe, der durch das einmalige Farbenspiel der Toskana die Idee zur berühmten »Farbenlehre« hatte, entwickelt Stefano Ricci mit der aktuellen Kollektion seine eigene »Teoria dei Colori«. Nicht nur draussen in der Natur, auch im Herzen von Florenz herrschen elegante Farben vor, welche der Designer zu farblich harmonischer Mode verwandelt. Als Kulisse für die Präsentation wählte man folgerichtig das Castello di Sammezzano, ein architektonisches Kleinod aus dem 19. Jahrhundert, das der Öffentlichkeit in der Regel nicht zugänglich ist. The marvelous shades and hues of Tuscany once inspired German poet and philosopher Johann Wolfgang Goethe's famous »Theory of Colours«. Drawing on the same source, Stefano Ricci's latest collection is rooted in its own very personal »Teoria dei Colori«. In both the rolling Tuscan hills and the historic heart of Florence, elegant colours are encountered at every turn; and the Italian designer translates precisely these chromatic themes into the harmonious hues of high fashion. So to launch the new collection, what more fitting backdrop could have been chosen than Castello di Sammezzano, a 19th-century architectural jewel that is normally off limits to the public?

MAKING THE DARKNESS LIGHT Die Londoner machten einen Ausflug in die Schweiz um hier ihre GraffStar Slim Eclipse bauen zu lassen: Dem Einsatz von Titan verdankt dieser auffällige und doch elegante Zeitmesser sein extrem geringes Gewicht von sagenhaften 27 Gramm bei einem Gehäusedurchmesser von 43 mm. Die Krone ziert selbstredend ein schwarzer Diamant. Übrigens ist sie die Lieblingsuhr von Firmenchef Laurence Graff. The London-based jewelers had their GraffStar Slim Eclipse – company owner Laurence Graff's favorite watch of all – built here in Switzerland. Pulling off the astonishing feat of being at once conspicuous and understated, this extremely lightweight timepiece has the use of titanium to thank for weighing in at just 27 grams. Not bad for a 43-mmdiameter case. The crown is, fittingly, topped by a black diamond.
