Joey Laughlin

I have discovered that I have several passions that largely describe me. First, I have an enduring passion for design. From architecture to photography it contributes to every moment in life and is limitless in scope. Secondly, my passion for people and the community has become evident. I have discovered that forming and maintaining relationships with people from different backgrounds is something I enjoy and is one of my strengths. Thus, my passions relating to design and other people are intimately connected to my professional ambitions. They fuel my desire to learn and guide me in scope and focus. As I see it, architecture is of building and of place. But mostly, architecture is about community: providing a stage upon which everyday events occur. What excites me is how the built environment can celebrate what it means to smell, touch, feel, and engage with one another. Exceptional design should be for everyone, providing solutions of decency, innovation, and relationship.
