La Principauté de Monaco accueille la communauté internationale du yachting pour la 27ème édition du Monaco Yacht Show, le rendez-vous leader mondial du yachting. Cette année, la quintessence du yachting de luxe présente ses meilleurs produits et services parmi les 600 sociétés exposantes. A flot, et 125 vaisseaux exceptionnels de 25 à 110 mètres sont exposés, dont une quarantaine d’unités dévoilées en première mondiale. Le 2ème Monaco Yacht Summit et la Soirée d’inauguration du Monaco Yacht Show ont officiellement lancé les festivités de l’édition 2017 en invitant de nouveaux visiteurs de haut profil, venus découvrir le superyachting pour une première fois, et les acteurs décisionnaires majeurs de l’industrie. Ces actions s’inscrivent dans notre volonté commune, à tous les passionnés de la mer, d’ancrer définitivement Monaco comme la capitale mondiale du yachting. Je tiens également à adresser mes félicitations à Gaëlle Tallarida et son équipe pour continuer de soutenir Ma Fondation et la recherche sur la Myopathie de Duchenne, à travers la 7ème édition d’Only Watch, vente aux enchères caritative de montres uniques dont le MYS inaugure l’exposition itinérante mondiale avant la vente à Genève le 11 novembre prochain. For more than a century yachting has been a significant part of Monacoâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s identity. Ever since the first regattas were organized here at the end of the 19th century this original way of life has played a part in the development and reputation of the Principality. The 300 companies registered in the Principality testify to the enormous vitality of this sector, as do the 1500 jobs directly generated in Monaco, where it represents almost 5% of the overall economic activity. This important contribution made by yachting to the life of the Principality should however not lead us to overlook what the Principality, in return, offers the world of yachting. For decades the latter has benefited here from a favorable economic environment, the unique possibility of meeting a large part of its clientele in one single spot, and also a setting whose quality and beauty create a wonderful background for these marvelous yachts, at the heart of the legend of yachting. This year the Monaco Yacht Show will, I believe, once again demonstrate this fruitful complementarity, through its rich program, the presence of numerous visitors and the constant and determined support of the authorities and leading forces in the Principality of Monaco. It is always a real pleasure for the Principality to welcome the Monaco Yacht Show, this year celebrating its 27th edition. Always more innovative, always more surprising from year to year as it welcomes the world yachting community to the Port Hercule, the show brings together professional and amateur enthusiasts united by a single passion, their love of sailing. It goes without saying that the 125 vessels presented, e xpertly showcased by the MYS team, will illustrate both the modernism and the prestige of luxury yachting, and also its power of attraction for an exclusive clientele. This unique event also bears witness to the humanistic v alues to which the Principality has always been attached. The National Council thus welcomes the renewed commitment of the Monaco Yacht Show organizers to the Prince Albert II Foundation and the Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies. I and the other members of the Communal Council are pleased and proud to welcome the Monaco Yacht Show to the Principality every year, for four days during which our country becomes the capital of luxury yachting. This 27th edition will enable us to discover and admire exceptional yachts exhibited in the Port Hercule, and w ithout question excellence and innovation will again be its key features. The excellence of this show has made Monaco an essential meeting-point for the international superyacht industry. The number and quality of the exhibitors who come back to participate every year and the efforts made to attract ever more buyers and develop a new clientele are two major ingredients in the recipe for success. Innovation too is important, for every year the Monaco Yacht Show progresses by launching new events – the MYS Super yacht Awards, the Monaco Yacht Summit, the Sapphire Experience, the Car Deck – and also new exhibition spaces dedicated to the “superyachting way of life”. But the Monaco Yacht Show is also a generous event that over the years has unfailingly maintained its commitments to the Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. For all this, on behalf of the Communal Council and in my own name, I would like to congratulate the organizing team and all those who work every day with such a high degree of professionalism to offer visitors the best possible experience. Welcome to the 2017 Monaco Yacht Show!

Since its creation in 1991, the Monaco Yacht Show has undergone a total transformation. From a simple show, it has evolved into a brand that represents and unites the world of yachting. Every edition is unique. And 2017 will also be another milestone for the MYS with a new setting extended on all quays of the iconic Port Hercules. On September 26, the 2nd Monaco Yacht Summit gave the keys to high-profile delegates to choose their future yachts during the four following days at the Show. On Quai Albert Ier, a new air-conditioned tent welcomes the historical exhibitors of former Darse Nord tent. The new exhibition space offers a natural route to reach the Parvis Piscine tent’s Upper Deck Lounge, where the superyacht clientele will discover their dedicated VIP lounge. This year, the MYS plays host of the exhibition of the 2017 collection of the Only Watch Charity auction that we support. The reconfiguration of Quai Antoine Ier offers a new epicentre for activities devoted to the superyacht lifestyle in the Show: The Starboard. An exhibition area with premium stands, a cafe-restaurant & lounge, the MYS official press centre and private meeting rooms.

Quai Antoine Ier is also the location of the Car Deck - a presentation of fifteen or so luxury vehicles with some models available for test drives and the new Tenders & Toys Show, where some of the trendiest nautical accessories on the market will be visible on the quay or afloat. These new developments are part of the Show’s strategy to keep on delivering the world’s ultimate super yacht showcase, where firsttime yacht charterers or buyers can meet the 580 exhibiting companies and partners against the glamorous backdrop of the Principality of Monaco. Afloat, the outstanding fleet of 125 superyachts and mega yachts will again pay tribute to the quintessence of an incredible industry that constantly challenges the limits of creativity. This year’s MYS promises to deliver the most recent superyacht offering ever displayed in Monaco as half of the fleet is less than two years old. I would like to sincerely thank HSH Prince Albert II for his continued support to bring the Monaco Yacht Show to a higher level every year and establish once and for all the Principality as the home of superyachting. MONACO Cars & Coffee Monaco is a unique event held on Sunday morning at Opéra de Monte-Carlo. Participants in the Monaco Yacht Show can extend their visit by checking out the Starboard, a brand-new exhibition space dedicated to the superyachting lifestyle. The Starboard presents a selection of exhibitors, specialising into superyacht destination, luxury products and arts. The new area also proposes the MYS second official restaurant-lounge. Indoors or on the terrace participants can enjoy the snacks and cold dishes prepared by Premier Catering, then come back again after 4.30 pm for the Happy Hour with live piano- bar music.
