To celebrate the anniversary, Caseys replicated old photos of their original furniture delivery vehicle - a horse and cart on Oliver Plunkett St Cork. It featured Jimmy O’Shea (right) who began working as an apprentice with his father Con O’Shea over 50 years ago in Caseys. His father Con was pictured in the original 1940’s photo (left). Jimmy was joined on the horse and cart by Peter and David Casey, whose grandfather John Casey, founder of Caseys, is pictured here in the 1920’s outside his store. Another loyal member of their team, William Scannell, who started with the business 52 years ago at the age of 14, also came along for the special anniversary. He said he was recommended to Jim Casey for the job by his neighbour. Commenting on his lifelong service to the business, William said:

“The customer was always the number one priority. I served generations of families at one time. You don’t get those repeat generational customers without exceptional service.”
